Post subject:  ..Seven Stones and One White Tree..-Literate RP

This is my first RP here at AU, so bear with me and we'll all do good. I attempted writing a huuuggeee intro into the history of my character, Linny, but it unfortunately got deleted in the middle of my writing by a sleight of hand and is lost until I decide to take on the task again. *siiigghhhss* Well, now, let's begin. Oh,and for fair warning, I write alot.....so please try to be literate. No profiles and be discriptive. I'm a tough cookie, I know.

-'Bax

P.S. I'd particularly appreciate it if we could follow the book rather than the movie, and have some original and new characters as well as people playing in other places besides where the main characters are. Spread them out. Not everyone will be in the same place at the same time. ^^'
And I call dibs on my character, Linny, and Pippin. All others are free to take after my first post.

----

The cold, damp air seeped slowly into her cloak, the wind nashing its sharp teeth at her skin. Fog swathed the muddy path and the grasses swayed about her as she walked, the mists licking at her heels. She was Linanthuen Diamond Burrows of Long Cleave, which was her home far off from her work, the Green Dragon Inn. Night had fallen, meaning another tiring trek in the dark back to home, where she would find no rest between her arguing siblings and ill father. She was without a mum.

A fog of breath emitted from the pale lips of the shivering Hobbit. Her feet were numb and even her thick wool cloak wouldn't keep out the unfriendly weather now.
'Only four more miles to Ferry Lane..Almost to Bucklebury Ferry.', she'd remind herself, urging her limbs on further.
Linny glanced around at the shadowy hills, or darker black against black waves as she could see them, with an uneasiness that something abnormal was lurking about in the Shire. The strange silence of the crickets, the nipping of the wind, the fell feeling of fear that laid heavy on the world that night. It all rang out a mental alarm. Linny stayed on her guard.

Clop...clop...clop..clop-clop-clop-clippity
She heard the noise from afar, drawing up gradually behind her and Linny began to walk quicker. It drew nearer, nearer. Linny began trotting, glancing back more than should as the sound grew louder. She halted and pressed herself against the hill, waiting in her anxiousness for the thing to appear out of the fog. And it did.

It wasn't anything frightening. 'Twas only Farmer Maggot and his wagon! And, why look, there were already several hobbits in the back too. The old hobbit drew the ponies to a stop and called to her with a smile,

"Why, young Miss Burrows! What're you doin' out so late?-And by yourself too!", he said to her, approaching with a dim lantern.

The startle of the surprise fell away from Linny's lightly freckled face, and she drew back her hood with a fair hand. Her hair sprung up into its brown curls again and her dark eyes lit up with the fondness of seeing a cheery face.

"Was on'y walking home as us'al, Mr.Maggot. You gave me a bit of a start there!", Linny replied, walking up to him, nearly half a head above too.

"Well, come on then! I'll take you straight to the Ferry, if tha's where you're headin'."

Linny gladly clambered into the wagon, only to find three young lads looking at her oddly. She wrinkled her brow and looked back at them with the same expression, and they left her alone. They sat on one side, she sat on the other. Few glances were between them, and even fewer words were spoken, none to Linny. She remained in her awkward silence, besides the creaking of the wheels and clopping of the ponies. But Linny did know one of these hobbits, the one to the left of the chubby one. Yes, she'd seen him before at the Green Dragon. Quite frequently, actually. Ah yes, young Peregrin Took. Him and Meriadoc Brandybuck were some of the most desireable bachelors in the world of girl tweens. What a voice he had.

She looked out into the desolate black, a few stars breaking through cloud patches and twinkling with the rhythm of the swaying grass. Linny's spirits were enlightened on the fact she no longer had to walk or be alone, but the strange presence never wavered its pressing feeling.

((Well...that was longer than expected. They next meet up with Merry at the Ferry, so yeah. You can be anyone but Pippin or myself. ^^ Even in somewhere other than the Shire. If anyone should like me to continue further for posting reasons, just ask! ))

Linny flickered her dark eyes, twinkling in the lamplight that sat up by Maggot, at the lad who had questioned her. She hesitated to speak, but quietly muttered in reply,

"I'm Linanthuen Diamond Burrows. Call me Linny..."

Her voice was dim and far-off, but not cold. She waited for an answer, staring down at her numb toes past her dress's lace. The one at the left, Peregrin Took, interrogated her next.

"Where're you goin'? Isn't it a bit late to be walkin' alone?"

"I've been asked that before, if you had listened.", she glared briefly at him,
"I'm goin' back to my house in Long Cleave and I always walk home alone from the Green Dragon."

"The Green Dragon! Why, I love tha' place! I si-"

"I know. You sing there. Your name is Pippin Took, is it not?"

Pippin quieted at her bite of words, and eagerness to cut him off. Perhaps she wasn't in the mood for conversation, he assumed.

((Okie dokie!))

Merry rode along at a leisurely pace, his friends were late, what could be taking them so long? He had decided to ride down the lane a bit to see if he would meet up w/ them. As he rode along he heard the sounds of a cart. Slowly Merry moved his pony to the side of the road so that if neccessary he wouldn't be seen, he proceeded at a slow pace.
