Her pallid face remained utterly expressionless, amber eyes penetrating into his as she leveled her gaze against him.
" Nor I."
It wasn't until she saw slight movement from the corner of her eye that her right hand flicked her dagger against his blade, bringing her leg up to kick it from his hand.
[Short, kind of bad. Sorry. x_x.]

His scimitar knocked away, Varquenor swiftly drew a dagger, latching it onto the hilt of her own in a steady immobile grip. His eyes did not leave her's for a moment, although there was a slip from the edge of his vision which he did not know. "A third the difficulty, twice the challenge."

As if the ambience of summer was not enough to render her into a drowsy and uncomfortable state, excessive movement also contributed the sweat that was beginning to bead at her brow. Eilwynn scowled inwardly at his next move, yet was distracted as an Elf had made her presence known, producing a sword and all.
Arching a brow, she pushed away from Varquenor powerfully, hoping to knock him off his own balance and thusly pin him to the ground--Luck was on her side either way, the two women outnumbered him--if indeed the Elf was there to aid her.

Varquenor toppled backwards, wincing as he landed harshly on the ground. The other approached, whether friend or foe he did not know. Lucky that he had not landed on the two entwined daggers, he seperated them, brandishing them in double-hand. His shoulder hurt. (>.<)

Eilwynn released a long-held sigh, jaw clenching some as she averted her gaze to look elsewhere than on the man. After a short pause, she sheathed her dagger, straightening.
" I have no real wish to kill you, and because you are outnumbered it would not be a fair duel, that is to say if you still wished to continue this fruitless game."
She gestured to the wagon.
" There are two things under that blanket that I am quite positive could be of no use or substance to you--unless you have a habbit of wearing women's apparel. As far as the other thing goes, you wouldn't know how to use it even if you had directions."

Varquenor stood, brushing the dust from his tunic. "That was not so very courteous," he murmured with slight annoyance. "And for one thing, the entire point of 'raiding' is not to maintain goods to use, but to sell. I'm sure whatever you have, since it seems to be worth a bit to you, could fetch a fair price."

While the two were chatting, Eilwynn noticed a small stream off to the left of the road. Smiling inwardly, she filled her flask with the cool water, even splashing some on her face in her meager attempt to cool off.
Yet it was a strange thing, that stream. A small miracle it was even there in such heat. Then again many things not yet unfurled would appear strange to her eyes.
After taking a swig from the flask, she cast the man a somber glance.
" What is your name, thief?"

He tilted an eyebrow, taking in the sight of her, seeming amused at the fact that she is wet. "Varquenor. Might I have the pleasure of your own?"
"And," he added, glancing at the Elf, "I'm not running. Why should anyone run from something they can't change?"

Eilwynn sighed impatiently and let a shrill whistle echo through the woods. It was soon returned by the soft pattering of hooves that grew continuously louder.
Turning to Varquenor, she tossed him a simple buck-skin pouch. The contents were few, nevertheless it was the last of what she had--though she cared not. Hopefully, her mission would bring her five pouches of that size and quadrupled weight.
She forced a polite smile, bowing mockingly. " Your toll, Sir Varquenor."
The mare she had borrowed appeared through the trees at last, snorting..seemingly still offended.
Eilwynn tied the mare to the reins of the wagon, fixing it so that it would be somewhat manageable. Climbing atop her seat up front, she took her yew bow, notching an arrow to it.
Her intense amber eyes fixed coldly on Varquenor. " If you do not leave at once, I'm afraid I'll have to loose this shaft into that charming mouth of your's. And do believe me when I say I have well-practised aim."

He caught the pouch, and returned the bow as derisively as possible. He replied civilly, "Many thanks, my lady. I hope to be seeing you again, preferably in a more indulgent mood." His green eyes found her own, and with an incline of his head, he picked up his forgotten bow and began to walk off. He did not go more than a few feet, however, before he could help noticing, "You never did tell me your name," and turned around expectantly.
