Calling all RPGers who want slow, thoughtful posts! This RPG is for you.
The other RPG proved popular at first, but many of you complained that it was moving waaay too fast and started backing out. So, the mods culled it down to 3 posts per day, but with nearly 20 people, that was still too much, and math told them that 2 posts per day per person would add up to quite a few pages, so we changed it to one post per day.
Well, that was too slow for the active posters, who in their turn decided to start backing out.
Thus, while re-opening the other RPG to however many posts people want, we decided to start one just for those of you who dislike spending all day going back and forth and back and forth and finding you have 8+ pages to read when you return from the movies.
The idea is the same, in some ways. You are to get yourself to Middle-Earth however you want. Once you get there, you may get together with a character, or find yourself "melding" wtih that character example: Meldis becomes Meldis-Gandalf, IE, you, "Meldis", finds yourself in Gandalf's place in ME
[s]Make your way to Rivendell where you all will meet each other by June 21st, and in the meantime, PM the Mod account to tell us what you want: to work through the movie story, the book story, to create your own story...[/s]
RULES
Use YOUR A-U name You may ALSO play a LotR character, but not only If you want, you can find you've become one of the LotR characters, but infused with your personality or some of your characteristics One post each day, please! No single-sentence posts. Try for a paragraph of at least 100 words (see the paragraph "the other RPG"-"the movies" as example) Please keep your posts at a G or PG level. We're keeping in one thread here.
STORY:
The story takes place after Saron falls and everything is relatively peaceful in middle earth.....or is it?
When we all get to Rivendell a council is held, where each earth person is paired with one character of the movie/book, and we all embark on a quest together to Mordor.
In Mordor, trouble is brewing, orcs are reproducing again and an army is being created, the leader of the army is a powerful dark sorcerer who is also from earth...
The king has tried to exterminate the orcs (of course) but has failed, they are too many, and the darkness of Mordor is growing, he is truly desperate.
But the king has not lost hope. Before Bilbo, Frodo, the elves and Gandalf embarked on their last journey a prophecy was made (Gandalf)
"Ere your time is done, my friend...a great force will take over Mordor. A force you will not be able to fight alone, this force has a name, Maligno. There will come several beings from the same place Maligno comes from. They are your aid, they must find themselves in order to carry out the task which is to gain access to Mordor and reach the fortress along the banks of the sea of nurien, it is called nurngost, and there all beings will engage in a fight with Maligno, where no physical weapon can be used"
(Us beings are supposed to find ourselves with the help of our paired buddies from middle-earth, but we will all travel together, perhaps like the fellowship, though I hope this one doesn’t split)
http://www.thelandofshadow.com/mordorga ... p/map1.htm
okay here is the webpage where there is an interactive map of Mordor, so you can find nurngost, just skip intro and get to the map, unless you want to see the intro (which is not really exiting) by the way, since nurngost is no prominent landmark, ill just tell you where it is, in the north bank of the great inland sea (nurnen) there is a little tower...and there it is.
PLAYERS:
Mornie utúlië plays herself and Boromir, who really didn't die
Elenriel Greenleaf plays herself and Legolas Greenleaf of the Greenwood

Sirius Black plays himselfand Aragorn Elessar, King of Gondor and Arnor

(I prefer movie story because I have seen it. One post is good. Your mods are a real life saviour. Thanks again)
The city where Asia and Europe are connected to the each other by a bosphorus bridge. Yes, that was Istanbul. The city which had been made as a capital city by the civilizations who had lived on this land. And a city where is full of history. I was living in Istanbul. If you asked me a place where would he be in the future I would respond to you as Istanbul. As the time goes by, the life has been already started. The sounds of ships, cars and bus were everywhere. And that also means a heavy traffic occurs. Saw hates that everytime he see it. Firstly, he gets angry and impatient. Then tries to think something else that would forget about what is going on right now. And I wished inside that I wanted to get lost and when I opened my eyes I wanted to be in somewhere else. I counted 1,2,3... poof. And I was somewhere else where the forests are all my around. It seemed crazily enough. I guess I am not in Istanbul anymore.

(I'll join! Yay something I'll be able to keep up with!)
Eruraina lived in a town called Sanford, just north of the country famous Orlando, Florida. The fourteen yearold redhead sat in a padded chair, next to a desk on the computer. Erura was on the A-U forum, reading her pms.
"Cody, put that back," she said to her little brother, who had just picked up one of her dad's antique(sp?) books from his collection.
Eruraina got up and walked to the fridge, wich happened to be open.
"Cody, did you leave the fridge open?" Erura called, her voice echoing a little through the small three bedroom house.
"no," Came a small voice. Shaking her head, Erura walked to the fridge, but slipped on some water, into the fridge.
Strangely, she didn't bang against any shelves, but kept falling. Erura's eyes were closed the hole time. When she finally hit earth, it wasn't the cold tile that she had expected, instead it was a mossy, green, leafy ground...

(I'll join this one as well. I have a feeling I will have a hard time keeping up with the other one. I hope you don't mind, if I use a similar begining to the other RP)
“Elenriel are you ready?” her mother called. “Soon.” she responded back as she put on her rose-pink halter style dress. With that she raced out of her house only to witness a giant windstorm coming her way. Terrified, she tried fleeing the storm, but was quickly lifted from the ground. She screamed for help but to no avail. She was completely at the mercy of the windstorm. “Release me!” she cried. As if heeding her command, the wind dropped her in Mirkwood. “Ow! You could have done it gentler!” she yelled at no one in particular as she brushed herself off. “Go to Rivendell!” a strange yet powerful voice commanded her. “What?! Who are you? What do you want?” she asked aloud but received no answer. Okay, I have officially gone insane. First a whirlwind, now voices in my head, what next? With that she drew of breath of wonder as she glanced at her surroundings. Gone were the familiar surroundings, replaced instead by the beautiful yet wild forest-giving testament to its elegance yet danger. Where am I? This forest looks so much like Mirkwood, but how can that be? she wondered as she walked through the forest.
She was lost in her thoughts until a screech snapped her out of her reverie. Yrch! she thought to herself. By Eru, what have I gotten myself into? Hearing the shrieks behind her, she quickly raced through the woods, stumbling over tree roots. This is just great, of all times to be weaponless, and lost. I wish I had a machine gun, or some throwing stars-heck anything but these stupid branches! she thought bitterly. The screeches became louder and she soon found herself surrounded by a small group of orcs. They looked at her menacingly, glad to have finally found prey. “I’ll show you.” she muttered to herself as one moved to attack her. She dodged one attack and grabbed a sharp branch, poking the orc in the eye. “Get back!” she yelled as the orc screamed in pain, dropping his sword. Without thinking, she reached for the fallen blade and ran him threw, staring in shock as the orc crumpled at her feet. The other orcs paused their assault in shock for a brief second before howling in rage. They charged at her then only to be felled by a group of arrows. What now? she thought fear creeping into her. “Are you alright young maiden?” a voice spoke from behind her. “Yes. Thank you for-” she stopped short as she recognized the identity of her rescuer. “Prince Legolas?” she asked, completely stunned.

(first and last... hehe)
Eruraina stood up, a little winded. She dusted off her jeans, and wiped leaves off her arms with her hands. She put some stray pieces of red hair behind her ears, and looked around. She took in the scenery... She was in a very beautiful forest, with big... no huge mossy trees. The ground was soft under her bear feet(she usually didn't were socks around the house). The trees were bigger than any trees she had seen on Earth.
"wait a minute... this place looks like..." she gasped when she relized what this place was like. "... Lothlorien..." Erura looked around, turning in a complete circle. "It can't be..." She looked to were the sun bearly shone through the leaves, it was almost at it's highest point. "so it's either just befor, or just after noon..." she said to herself, watching the sun, to see if it would go up to noon, or if it would go down. Eruraina bearly saw the change in placing in the sky, but the sun went up. "It's noon... and if the sun rose over there, then it falls over there... Then I should be facing North."
Eruraina was pleased with herself, it was a good thing her father taught her how to find North, East, south, and West by the sun. "I wonder if I really am in Lothlorien..." she said, but without another thought, she went North.
As she proceded, the trees seemed to get bigger, and the ground go more mossy, and the air got richer. She didn't hear any sound, but kept on going North, but she did feal someones presence. Shaking her head, "nothings there... unless..." As she had finished the word 'unless' Eruraina was surrounded by arrows.
"What is your bussiness in Lothlorien, stranger?" Came a voice behind her, Eruraina turned and saw the speaker. "Haldir?" she asked.
"answer my first question, then tell me how you know my name," Haldir said.
"Well, I really don't know what I'm doing here. I triped and fell, and landed here..."
"what do you mean?"
"Is this Middle Earth? Lothlorien? Home of Galadriel, Lady of light?"
"yes... don't be such a fool, of course it is"
"Well, I come from a different world, called Earth. And I slipped on something, and fell through a door, and somehow it brought me here..." Eruraina turned to take a closer look at the elves, who were a little taller than her. The beautiful clothes, and bows took her breathe away.
"A different world? hm... Maybe I should take you to the Lady of Light. She could figure out what to do with you..."
Eruraina nearly yelped for joy when she heard that she would me Galadriel, Lady of light...
(ooohh... long... I just got away with myself there...)

Dark glanced at her book, grey illustrations glared back from the cream coloured pages. She shook her red and black hair and looked outside. Her dog lay down beside her and was immediately asleep. She bobbed her head in time to the song playing on her iPod. It was raining outside. Several figures rushed past her window and onto the opposite sidewalk. They were dressed strangely. Their clothes looked as though they were from a medieval time. Several carried bows and spears. Is that legal? she thought. One looked at her and she was suddenly falling.

“How is it you know my name?” he asked sternly. “I am from a distant world called Earth which is perhaps parallel to you own, perhaps not. I was picked up by a whirlwind and sent here, where I am suppose to find my way to Rivendell. More than that I can not explain.” “She’s lying.” one of the guards whispered to Legolas. “We should can not trust her.” Legolas raised his hand for silence as he dismounted and approached Elenriel, gazing intently into her eyes, as if testing her. “Your eyes are clear. Strange as it seems I believe you speak the truth. Tell me, what is your name-or am I to keep calling you maiden?” “Elenriel, my prince.” “Very well Elenriel. My companions and I are also traveling to Rivendell. Would you like to join us?” “It would be an honor.” she responded. Legolas nodded. “But first, I suggest we find you appropriate traveling attire. We will head back to the Palace of Mirkwood, and then hasten to Rivendell. With that he whistled and a white mare came galloping up. “This is Turtegiel. May she serve you well.”

Lothwen shifted slighty in her sleep. A smile was lingering on her face as if she were dreaming of something good. Suddenly, Lothwen gave a sharp gasp of shock. Her eyes flew open barely a second before she vanished from her bed. It was as if she had never been there.
Lothwen had been taken away to Middle Earth. Now, she was in a wood of birches, which Lothwen suspected were in Rivendell. She was lying on soft, green grass. Lothwen yawned sleepily and rose. She had reason to be tired, for she had been sleeping. Or at least, she had been before that sharp tug that had woken her and seemingly brought her to Middle Earth. As a matter of fact, Lothwen had been dreaming of Middle Earth; of a wood very like this one. She seemed to remember thinking: I wish I could go there. Was that what had pulled her here? Before she could think of anything else, a woman appeared in front of Lothwen. Her face was flawless and wrinkle-free, her hair was long and dark, her eyes were like gray stones, and her ears were pointed. Was this Arwen Undomiel? Lothwen wondered. The elf answered her un-asked question. "Mae govannen," she said, holding out her hand in greeting. "I am Arwen Undomiel." "It is my pleasure to meet you," Lothwen said and took Arwen's outstretched hand. "My name is Lothwen Celebriel."

Sirius woke up from where he fell. He had a little bit headache and his head was turning all over. He could not see anything straight. But there was a forest nearby for certain. After a while, he was able to see more because his head was not turning no more. Sirius may not know where he is now but it is certain that there is a forest nearby. As he searched about this mysterious place, he heard some sounds that would be counted as weird. He looked around but saw nothing suspicious. He returned to look for some food, all of a sudden hit by his back onto the floor and saw the face of elves as he tried to get up.

(((see last post for backround info)))
"Lothwen Clebriel. FlowerMaiden DaughterOfSilver," Arwen said, nodding. "You have a beautiful name."
Lothwen blushed. Here was Arwen, a Princess of the Elves, giving her a compliment! "Gen hannon," she said, which is 'I thank you' in Elvish.
Arwen smiled. "And you speak Elvish as well!" she said. "This is a happy meeting indeed, Elf Friend! O man dôr túliel le?" (Where do you come from?) she questioned.
Lothwen blushed even more. What will I say to that? Lothwen thought. Who in their right mind would belive that I came from another world? "I come from. . .yonder." It wasn't very informative, but it would have to do.
Arwen looked surprised. "Yonder? Oh. . ." her voice drifted off into scilence. "Where are you headed?" Arwen asked.
Taking a deap breath, Lothwen said: "Imladris."
"You are in the very woods of Imladris itself," Arwen said, gesturing at the trees around them.
I was right, then, thought Lothwen. "This was exactly where I wanted to come," said Lothwen happily.

Elenriel gazed in awe as the Palace of Mirkwood came into view, its splendor breathtaking. After dismounting, the group hastened through the palace halls and made their way to the throne room. As they approached the Elven King, Elenriel lowered her eyes as King Thranduil studied her. “Father-” Legolas began as he nodded his head dutifully in greeting. “We set off for Rivendell, when chance brought me to this maiden.” he continued as he brought Elenriel forward. “We returned to find more appropriate travel garments for her.” “She will accompany you to Rivendell?” Thranduil asked, raising an eyebrow skeptically. “Are you sure this is wise, my son?” “The decision has been made.” Thranduil sighed. “Very well.” he replied, motioning an elf maiden. “Take this young maiden with you and find her some appropriate tunic.” he said. The elf maiden bowed and gently drew Elenriel away from the group. Elenriel smiled at her gratefully, but her smile vanished as she saw father and son glaring at one another-she saw their lips move, but she could not make out their words. Yet somehow she knew that the rift formed was because of her. What have I done? she thought sadly as she followed the elf maiden away from the scene.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You know nothing of this girl!” Thranduil exclaimed, his voice hard. “Her name is Elenriel and she comes from a distant world called Earth.” Legolas replied simply. “And you believed her? She could be a spy sent by the dark powers to ensnare us!” “No father, for I sense that she will have some part to play that will aid our quest.” Thranduil gave an exasperated sigh as he saw the elf maiden return with Elenriel who was now clad in a green tunic. “Very well.” he replied softly. “You made the decision. I hope you can accept the consequences of your actions.” Legolas nodded and approached the two ladies. “The hour grows late. We must set off for Rivendell now.” Elenriel nodded at him and gave him an apologetic smile. No words needed to be spoken, he seemed to follow her train of thoughts. He gave her a quick nod of understanding before exiting the hall with the company. Elenriel turned and gave King Tranduil a quick bow before turning to follow Legolas and the others as they mounted their horses.
Sirius was tied by his hands as his long journey brought him the Middle Earth. Afterwards all he remembered that he was tied up by some of the elves. Still he has no idea where he was. He asked to the elves about where they are going and who they are. He said he was Elrohir, son of Elrond. Oh what the... Sirius said. What??Elrohir said. So where are we going to?? Sirius asked to Elrohir. We are going to Rivendell to jugde you about accusing of being an orc spy he said. I am not an orc spy he yelled. He was like become a mad person. He tried to save himself from the strings but there were so rigidly bound to his hands so he could not untie them.
i'd like to join if its not too late...
Mornie was very much tired of summer already, all she did was read and re-read books...."hmm i have no life" she thought as she moved from her computer to her room to listen to some music, she looked at herself in the mirror....she had long brown hair that curled everywhere and black eyes that stared at her as if defeated...she kept on looking at her eyes for a long time. not knowing why, not acknowledging the rest of the world(or room) as if on trance, she did not like the feeling, and closed her eyes....
when she opened them she was not in her room anymore...she was in front of a river in a land she had so many times dreamt of before "no, it cannot be....im demented, dreaming, daydreaming, everything but real " she said this thought out loud and was suprised when she saw someone as startled as she was...it was a man with a horse his eyes were grave and she grew confused when she stared at his eyes...he looked at her and she suddenly felt the urge to break the silence...."what is your name traveler?" she wispered "boromir, and yours stranger?" he said. mornie was exhilirated she said "mornie"
((lol, I will join too, but may not be on for long periods of time))
Aramel sighed as she sat on Annwyn's bed. Her friend was busy burning some CD's on the computer and definitely ignoring her friend. Bored, Aramel made her way over to the huge walk in closet of her friend's room without Annwyn noticing.
"Hmm...Annwyn needs some new clothes," She thought, making a disgusted face at an ugly lime green shirt with grey dots. Aramel put the shirt back and looked around. "If only we were in Middle-earth...I bet the Elves would have beautiful, long, silk dresses that Annwyn and I could only dream about..."
As she spoke, the lights flickered on and off wildly and Aramel turned to look all around her. Something strange was happening, and she had no idea what was going to happen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aramel opened her eyes and looked around. She was standing in the middle of a forest; it appeared to be Lothlorien. All around, Elves sang and suddenly, Aramel found an Elf aiming his bow at her. He asked if she was a friend or foe, and luckily, Aramel had learned Elvish well enough to reply.
"Mellon," She said, hands raised to show she was no enemy. "I come in peace, Haldir of Lorien."
Haldir lowered his bow and looked at her interestedly. "How do you know my name?"
Aramel bit her lip and thought desperately. If she told him she knew everything from the movies, he would certainly shoot her. "I have heard much about you and your lineage from my fathers stories," She lied. It seemed to be the best way to go.
"Well, nonetheless, I must still take you to see the Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn," He replied. "Follow me."
Aramel began through the woods behind him. "This is so unreal..."
(Lady Aramel... um... I had already met Haldir befor that, and we were headed to Galadriel... and you met Haldir too... so I guess we're in the same group of elves?)
Eruraina followed the elves, somewhat in the middle of the group. She had a smile on her face that went from ear to ear. Erura had to take longer strides to keep up with the elve's fast walk.
For some reason the group stopped. A few elves blocked her view. Someone had seemed to just appeared. Weaving through the elves she saw it was a girl, dressed in Earth close as she was. Eruraina walked near the end of the group...
~~~~~~~~
The group made it to the main city of Lothlorien. Haldir, and the other scout elves led them to the base of a tree, with winding stairs going all the way up to a very beautiful building high in the branches.
It took ages to go up all the stairs, but they finally made it. At the top, they stood on a white platform at the bottom of a stair case. Down came two figures, eventually the faces came in sight. Eruraina gasped. The beauty was better than the movies... even better than she had imagined from reading the books. Galadriel's eyes were deep... with twinkling starts shinning. Celeborn was also breath taking. The two together were somthing that were so beautiful... no words could say.
"What is your name child?" Galadriel said, looking apon the red-head.
"My name is Eruraina, m'lady." Erura studdered, giving a clumsy bow(since she had jeans, she couldn't curtsie).
"Haldir said, that you said, that you came from a different world... is this true?"
"yes, m'lady"
"We must send you to Elrond of Imladris then. He can help you find a way home... maybe."
"thank you..." Eruraina's heart lept as she heard she would meet Elrond...
"For now. You must stay here, and rest. We will give you a map, an escort, proper cloths," Galadriel eyed Erura's cloths, " and a horse."
"thank you." Eruraina was then escorted out of the room...
~~~~~~~~~~
Eruraina spent the night at Lothlorien. That morning she was woken up early by an elven maiden.
"come. Time to get you ready for your travel to Imladris, child."
Eruraina got up slowly. Very tired. She was led by the maiden to a room sort of thing. The maiden got her into riding boots, trousers, a tunic, a cloak, and even got her a sword. When she was ready, she was led to awere the group that was traveling with her was waiting. She was given the promised goods, plus food and drink and blanket in a saddlebag on a chestnut horse. Eruraina mounted, and waved goodbye to the elves that had helped her and rode off with the group of about six elves.
~~~~~~~~
The group went through the Misty mountains, just of the mines of Moria. Once out, they headed North, staight to Imladris. The journy took a few weaks, nearly a month, but the group went constantly at a gallop. Eating and drinking while the horses got two five minute breaks to eat and drink each day. Finally they arived at the gates of Imladris. It was as beautiful, if not more, as Lothlorien...
(um... I'm going to be at camp for five days starting tomorrow... so I'm going to have to get to Rivendell in this one post...)

Mornie could not read his face, it looked like he was going to say something....at that moment three arrows struck the ground near the place where they were standing, Mornie did not like the look of those arrows, she didn’t have much expertise in arrows but these arrows just oozed negative energy....Boromir gave a silent curse then looked at her and said "orcs"
Not good, not good at all.....Mornie was trained in personal combat but she had never fought. Near the edge of the forest came five orcs, three wielding arrows, she was trapped, she couldn’t run....or could she? Mornie was a good swimmer, but she didn’t know if the river was icy....or the current too strong.....or if the arrows could penetrate enough to hit her underwater....she didn’t like her chances, but she took them. Without thinking she grabbed Boromir and dragged him with her underwater.
The river was deep. She didn’t expect it to be so deep, "oh well" she thought "better for me" she dragged Boromir downwards (it wasn’t easy, he struggled like there was no tomorrow) but she managed to get out of range fast enough so they weren’t hit by the arrows. She almost let go all her air when an arrow hit her near the knee, but it didn’t penetrate her jeans, in fact…she barely felt it, she was well underwater....relief! Now, well out of range she hit the surface and saw Boromir struggling against the current near her. “Okay so we're alive” she thought, “now what?” the current was pretty strong, but there was a shallow bank ahead, she grabbed Boromir and pointed to the bank, he nodded and they swam as hard as they could. Once they got to the bank, they dragged themselves onshore and concentrated on breathing, after a while Mornie glanced at Boromir, he didn’t look very happy.
