And if you haven't joined in yet, just figure out a way you suddenly are transported from your usual life into Middle-Earth, either joining with the other RPGers group in the story right away, or making your way to them.

What follows is the quest:
---------------------------------------
As the last glimmer of sunlight fades from the western sky, a low, clear bell sounds summoning all to the council. The Elven musicians continue to play. In the council chamber the sound of singing and laughter can be heard faintly, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
Lord Elrond, however, as kind as summer though he may be, does not wear such a pleasant expression on his face. As the adventurers come into the chamber and are direct to their seats, they notice a shadow crossing his face, which seems to deepen as time wears on.

"Look at the Eyebrowlord!" One adventurer comments.

"You have my sword, Sir," another young man says as he enters the chamber and bows to Elrond.

Elrond, however, simply nods at him, seemingly preoccupied.
Finally, when all the Elven lords, the adventurers' guides, and all but one of the adventurers is seated, a tall blond elf, seated next to Elrond, stands.

Glorfindel: "Strangers and guests in the house of the Lord Elrond, friends from distant lands, and my lords, you have been summoned here by the will of the Lord Elrond. There have been strange rumors whispered abroad, whispers of a nameless fear, of a threat so great that it would destroy Middle-Earth as we know it."

He pauses, apparently for effect. Then suddenly he begins to speak again, seemingly endlessly...a monologue, if truth must be told. Some of his audience seems to fade, others start to talk among themselves.
A couple of the adventurers manage to catch on to the fact that in the midst of all these rumors, people---they, themselves!---suddenly began appearing out of nowhere, all over Middle-Earth, and all...

Elrohir (Elrond's son!): Unfortunately for you, the evidence only points towards you. Just as the news is noised abroad that the powers in the East are stirring, YOU appear. Are you spies?

Suddenly a voice rings out, sounding rather familiar to the adventurers.

"The world has changed, Lord Elrond. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it. "

Lord Elrond the Eyebrowlord sighs, and looks grimly at everyone. "Your coming to us is as the footsteps of doom!" he tells the adventurers. "This world once belonged to all the free peoples, but our time is almost over. Yet something stirs in the East, but what it may be we do not know."

The disembodied voice of Galadriel grows and fills the chamber. "We preceive you are not spies, yet have no knowledge of why you have been brought from some other place in this, the hour of need. Will you leave us and the men of Westerness to their fates, and let us stand alone?"

Elrohir stands and begins chanting in a low voice:
    Amroth beheld the fading shore
    Now low beyond the swell,
And cursed the faithless ship that bore
    Him far from Nimrodel.
From helm to sea they saw him leap,
    As arrow from the string,
And dive into the water deep,
    As mew upon the wing.
But from the West has come no word,
    And on the Hither Shore
    No tidings Elven-folk have heard
    Of Amroth evermore.
Some of Amroth's and Nimrodel's decendants are said to have married into the noble family of Dol Amroth in Southernmost Gondor. This may be so, but we also suspect that the two did come together and journeyed further East, beyond the borders of the Black Lands, past the edges of all charted lands. In time they may have met up with some of the survivors of the wreckage of Numenor, of which three groups were believed to have survived, and only two are known to us in Middle-Earth: the Dunedain of the North and South (Gondorians), and the Haradrim of the far South. The third convoy of ships sailed southwards, and in time we suspect may even have reached the far eastern shores of Middle-Earth, which few even of the Elven lords have heard of, even in myths.
Of late, strange birds and other potents, the like of which has never been seen, have flown here from the East, bearing parchment upon their legs with only one word written in the long forgotten Audnaic: Numenor."

Elrohir sits down ("At last!" whispers one person) and shuts up.

Galadriel: A shadow and a threat has been growing in our minds.

Elrond: We must unite or we will fall. If you are not spies of these phantoms, prove it to us by leading an expedition into the far reaches of the East to find out the truth.

*silence fills the room, as the adventurers look at each other, remembering this is an uncarted and unexplored region.*

The Lord Elrond stands. Everyone else rises, and Elrohir invites all adventurers to please follow him as they have a long journey to prepare for, etc. The adventurers depart, leaving some elves, Boromir, some dwarves, Gandalf, and Frodo taking their seats. As they left, Elrond began to speak:

"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old, you were summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor....we must unite or we must fall..."

-------------------------------------------------------------

All right, you know the idea now. Enjoy. :)

Anduril Nova stood up "I shall go into the East my lords, i shall go alone if need be, but i shall gladly lay down my life if need be for the good of middedl earth and Arda." A pompuse speech but one from the heart

(ok moddys you cannot send peple on a ring quest cos that will clash with the books and muck everything up)

"Count me in"

Sharkû said with a smirk as he got up.

(Agreed ANduril)

(I agree with Anduril as well.)

Idril stood with Anduril and Curu, a smirk on her face. She'd thoroughly enjoy an adventure, and surely with her own horse she could get far enough safely enough. She always was one for going off on her own on reckless travels through paths she didn't know. Even ended up getting lost a few times... but that's another story. "I'm in..."

(As do I)
Nauriel stood. She too would go in this adventure. "I will also go" She said. She had always wanted to go somewhere. She wanted to travel, see places that no one had seen before, and this was her chance. She would take it.

Melda remained seated for a minute. She was undecided - the Ring Quest was so full of people she would love to meet and places she would love to see. But maybe this mattered more - the people on the Ring Quest didn't need her, they had won by themselves, she had read and seen it. I might even mess it up for them... she thought with a pang, and stood. "I - I will go into the East as well." Then she smiled and added very quietly, "though I do not know the way."

[I also agree - it will mess up the story if new people are on the Ring Quest]

[True, but we're npt re-writing LotR - many fanfics have people from our world randomly dropped into middle-earth during the war of the ring. I think we're just going to have fun with it, and perhaps muss up the story a tiny bit, but we're just imagining what would happen if this really happened! Obviously we could not follow everything word for word, no? Don't worry, our RPG won't be written in stone. :P ]

(:annoyed2: That's why we're here, Rin and that's why you're there. *points in direction of properly designated RP* This should make it easier to keepp up with, though... being split up.)

[Come on, people, let's get this thing moving!]

Melda looked around. Nobody seemed to be moving. "Er...when do we leave?" she asked timidly, wondering why nobody seemed to be in a particular hurry. "How much preparation will we need?"

"I know what I'm getting... my horse!" Idril laughed slightly as she took off at a jog for the stables to be sure Princess was alright. She was excited but a little nervous, but this would keep her out of trouble among the fellowship, for sure.

Melda grinned and watched her go. She looked at the others. "Do you all have horses too? I'll have to borrow one, I suppose..." she shrugged. "I've never actually ridden before - I guess now's the time to learn."

"Packing up with supplies wouldn`t be a bad idea, I presume?"

Sharkû said with a smirk and went to get some supplies that they would need on the journey.

Nauriel nodded. She followed Idril to the stables, where her horse Koltok was boarded. He was a magnifecent horse, tall and muscular, black as midnight. A simple tap would guuide him, and his gait was smooth. To friends he was just that, but to enemies he was as fierce as any seasoned war horse.

Nauriel caught up to Idril. "Which horse is yours" She asked

Pandora agreed to go east with the others and help unlock the secrets of tha past with other A-Uers. Now was her time to make history in Middle-Earth.

She stood up with the others and vowed her alligence to the Elrond and his house. After offering her skills to this quest she followed Elrohir and the rest of the advernturers to get ready to pack.

Melda tagged along after Idril and Nauriel. "Can I meet your horses?" she asked eagerly. "I've never actually ridden one! What do you think we need to pack? How long do you think it'll take to get there?" she fired question after question at them, practically bouncing with the new idea of exploring Middle-Earth. "I hope we don't meet any orcs. I mean, it's all good in movies but I hope we don't!"

Idril laughed slightly at Mel's eagerness, before pointing to a bright eyed light bay Arabian mare, her silky black mane groomed well and rippling slightly as the horse lifted her head high, her neck arched gracefully while the dished face, so common to an Arabian was the mare's mane profile. Not large in size, but fiesty and spirited, the mare paced slightly in the stall which had been provided her, eager for attention. "That's Princess, or Princess Emira, as her papers say... She's a full blood Arabian" Idril grinned proudly, stepping over to stroke the graceful features.
