Post subject:  Meleth Elenwen - first rpg

Okay, I think you guys RP a little different from what I've done in the past, but I'm going to give this a shot. This is Meleth:
Name: Meleth Elenwen (Beloved Star Maiden)
Gender: Female.
Age: Not known exactly.
Race: Elven
Appearance: Tall, like most elves, with long straight silver hair. Black eyes. Not unusually pretty for an elf, just normal.
History: Meleth's family died in an orc raid when she was young. She carries the grief of their loss with her still and the pain of it has driven her away from her home. She wanders mostly, never having found anywhere to call much of a home.
Personality: Can be snappish. Always secretive, never very friendly to anyone she doesn't know. She cares intensely about the few people she loves.
Weapons: Bow and arrows predominantly. She also carries a few small, hidden daggers for emergencies.

As it says by History, Meleth's family died in an orc raid when she was young. This is just a couple days after that, and she's probably about the elvish equivalent of fifteen years old. Anyone can join, any way you want :)

Meleth stumbled out of a small copse of trees just outside Mirkwood and tripped, falling to her knees. She stayed there for a minute, utterly exhausted, but still driven on. "I've got to find them, " she muttered. "I'm going to kill every last one of them." The 'them' she referred to was a pack of orcs that had slaughtered her entire family only a few days previously. Meleth knew it was wrong to want revenge as badly as she did, but she couldn't help it. The lingering visions of her family lying dead around her were haunting and she felt certain that she would not be able to rest until every last orc had been taken care of. She hauled herself to her feet and leaned against a tree, trying to convince herself to stop and rest. Meleth's eyes were red from crying still and her face was white from exhaustion. She sank down onto the ground, too tired to go any further, and buried her face in her hands.

(Okay, be creative!)

A small troop of elves urged their horses on through the dense foliage, their long cloaks billowing out behind them. Each carried a silver spear, and each had at least one knife at their sides.
The leader was a talf she-elf. Her hair was pulled back into smart warrior braids, just over her ears- but at a first glance, she could have been any male elf, probably from Rivendale, and yet she was from Mirkwood.
A sound echoed through the forest, she held her right hand up- immediately the troop halted. She slipped gracefully form the black stallions bakc and wandered towards it, knives drawn.

Meleth was normally very observant of her surroundings but she was oblivious that someone was coming near - she'd had hardly anything to eat for days and was still in shock. Wiping her eyes, she dragged herself to her feet but froze as she thought she saw someone approaching. More orcs? clenching her teeth, Meleth steeled herself. "Who's there?"

Name: Kith

Race:Dunadan

Age:63

Appearence: Tan skin, dark hair, grey eyes. He is tall, slightly lean, but still muscular.

Dogs: Kiowa http://www.misd.k12.wa.us/schools/wm/wm ... /wolf3.jpg
and
Thane http://z.about.com/d/exoticpets/1/0/-/f/BlackBenF2.jpg

History: Not much in his youth, but just recently he was captured by the band of orcs he was tracking, along with his group. They were all captured, and eventually all killed until only Kith remained. They tied him up, along with his dogs, for five days. They left him to die, but he pulled free, though he bloodied his wrists. He knew that the orcs were planning to attack somewhere, he just had to follow them. And, even now, though he lost all his group, he still plans to kill them like he planned.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kith raced through the forest, and two dogs trailed him, not making a sound. They should be around here, the orcs he was tracking. He was too late, he felt it in his heart, but he could still stop them from attacking else where. He raced through the trees, leaping over logs, and ducking branches. His wrists still hurt, for the rope the used was course and easily cut his skin. They wouldn't escape for long, not with Kith chasing them. He ran through the forrest still, not stoping to catch his breath. He leapt over another log, but slid to a halt as he heard some one cry "Who's there?" He turned to the direction, and followed it. He came out into a small clearing, and saw a young maiden. Even in the dim light, he could see her face was pale.

Meleth quickly took a step backwards and reached for her quiver of arrows - but it was empty, the arrows spent long ago. She groped for a weapon for a few seconds and then faced Kith desperately. "Who are you and what do you want?" she cried, her voice hoarse. "If you had any part in murdering them I'll kill you, I swear I will!" She hoped that he was not, knowing with a sickening feeling that if he tried to kill her she was powerless to prevent it.

The warrior elf stepped out from the shadows, two arrows knocked, each aiming at one of the people, the bow held horizontal and perfectly still.
She had picked up a lot from her time as a slave, and now as a rebel with experiance, most had heard from her, whereas her own men- most escaped rebels themselves- trusted her with her life.
When she saw the elf and the man, she immediatly held her bow upright, aiming both arrows at him.

Kith glanced around, seeing the new elf warrior who pointed a bow at him. "I mean you no harm, lady, both of you, nor did I kill any one." He had a sickening feeling in his stomache, one that told him he was indeed too late, that the orcs had already struck. He added feebly "I am dunedain, I was part of a hunting party, hunters of orc. We were captured, and all perished, except for me. I now hunt the orcs, as was planned." He added silently "Though I fear it is too late for some"

Meleth nodded, her teeth still clenched tightly to keep her from crying. "Too late..." she murmured, her eyes filling anyway. "Too late for my family - too late for four defenseless children and their parents. I'm going to find those orcs and kill them all," she spat, looking defiantly at them both. She knew her words meant nothing, that she had no weapons and had not eaten in days.

Kith bowed his head. He had failed, and innocent lives had been lost because of it. "Come." He said. "I hunt the orcs as you do. We can do it together." It was the least he could do. He reached into his pocket, and pulled out a single strip of jerky. "It is not much" he said quietly. "But it will fill your stomache a small bit" He had already eaten a short meal, and knew she needed it much more that he did.

Meleth blinked, unnaccustomed to kindness from strangers, and took the food. She had to exert quite a bit of self-control to stop herself from wolfing it down right then and there. "Thank you - I would appreciate your help," she said awkwardly to Kith. She didn't smile - Meleth still felt the pain of her loss too acutely - but dipped her head gracefully. Then she looked over at Rhavaniel warily. "Who are you?"

The elfs emerald gaze softend and she sighed, lowering her bow "I'm sorry sire," she bowed her head briefly at the ranger and stood tall again, letting both arrows fall into the leather cache on her back.
"I am noone o interesst ma'am" she added with a quick smile at the other elf.

Meleth's gaze narrowed for a second. She was inclined to be untrusting. "All.....right," she said slowly. "Would you care to assist me? Orcs move fast, you see, and we may need the extra help." She glanced at Kith gratefully - it would be invaluble having his assistance. The pain of grief inside her lessened slightly. Now she could have her revenge.

"I can provide horses, food and men for the hunt if you would require. They wait over yonder..." she gestured vaguely with her long fingered hand.

"I would be very grateful if you would do so," said Meleth. "Your help will be most valuable." She bowed to Rhavaniel and turned to Kith. "Does that meet with your approval?"

[Hey people, if anyone else wants to join, you can be some of those men...just a suggestion :)]
