Okay, this is an RPG I did a long time ago that went to well over 1500 posts, with an awesome plot and great characters, so I thought I'd start it up again here. This is basically the plot line: It's been discovered that one of the unknown Istari (the two that are never named) has, well, gone bad, and has a growing army in the inner mountains of Mordor, threatening to attack Gondor and Rohan. There has been a call for aid (hence the RPG name^) from the Dunedain, and some Elves and Men have answered (that would be you guys) and are now camped by the Crossings of Poros (look on your maps, it's sort of around the bottom left-hand corner of Mordor). They are currently discussing strategy and how to go about sabotaging this evil Istari's plan. Sound okay? There is a sort of plot around this whole thing that will become apparent as we continue, because if I tell you now it'll ruin it. So if anything weird starts happening, go with the flow ![]() Oh, and no really radical magical powers, okay? This is well into the Fourth Age, and likely there were not many elves left, and certainly not powerful ones like Galadriel or Elrond. I would say only human characters, but so many of us play elves that it would be unrealistic ![]() -------------------------------------------------------- A cluster of tents surrounded a large campfire. Elves and Men talked in low tones around it, occasionally rising to disappear briefly into a tent. The moon was high in the sky. A little farther back from the fire than some, a female elf sat with a man of the Dunedain. "Meleth, for the last time, that is not an option. I -" The elf interrupted him, silver hair gleaming in the firelight. "Listen to me, Beriadan! It will not even compromise the time we have. If just a few of us could disguise ourselves and slip in, just to find out what is really going on, it might be invaluable!" "No. Absolutely not. The risks are too high and I do not wish to be responsible for any more deaths than I have to. We cannot do it, Meleth, for all we know that is exactly what he is expecting. Our mission is not to infiltrate, only to observe." He stood up and bowed slightly. "As you know, I value your input, but this is out of the question. I do hope that you will tell me if anything else occurs to you?" She sighed. "Yes. Yes, I will." As he walked away her black eyes followed him and she chewed her lip thoughtfully. |

Whatever you want to do, it's up to you. Oh yes, that's another thing, you don't have to post your profiles if you don't want to, guys, you can develop your character during the RP. |

((my character for this story is the third character down on here.. http://arwen-undomiel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=231 -Vanwa...seeing as she doesn't have that much of a history, I'll use her and hopefully develop her)) Vanwa came out of her tent. She had overheard the converstation, and sighed, before walking over to the Elf. "If it helps any, I agreed with you.." she said. |

Meleth's eyes still followed him. Her lips curved upwards in a faint smile. "Beriadan has always been cautious. I did not really expect him to agree with me." She sighed and turned to look at Vanwa. "But still...we have no information to go on. Nothing. All we know is that there have been increasing numbers of Haradrim, Easterlings and orcs pouring into Mordor and that it must be the work of an Istari. An undercover expedition would be extremely worth its while. But alas, I am not in control here and Beriadan's wishes must be obeyed." |

Meleth shook her head. "No. He is quite unmovable on this particular subject." She looked a tad frustrated. "How else are we going to find out what's going on in there? We have nothing to go on, nothing." |

Ryninial walked out of her tent, tying her long blonde hair back into a single plait as she walked over to the small group congregating by the fire. "What did Beri say Meleth?" |

Meleth sighed. "As I expected," she told Ryninial. "It's out of the question, it's not an option, he doesn't want to be responsible for the loss of more lives than he has to. I can't say I blame him." She stood up, looknig dissatisfied. "I just feel that sitting here discussing a plan isn't going to help. We need to do something now. I suppose i'll keep working on him, he may agree to a compromise." |

"Good luck Meleth, he is hard to break when it comes to decisions but I am sure you can crack him" Rye says as she sits on the ground warming her hands on the fire, pushing her sleeves up. |

You have think in his shoes for awhile." Fearan commented "How many of you would be able to cope with the fact that you sent your campanions, your friends, to thier doom. As much as I wish he would change his mind, I do not blame him" Fearan said. |

"No one can, his heart is in the right place but his mind isn't" Rye shrugged her shoulders before rubbing them since they were slightly sore from resting on the dirt. |

"Oh, I wouldn't say that," said Meleth lightly. "Beriadan's an excellent warrior and he can track anything, but in this case he tends to err on the side of caution. I might do the same thing, were I not so anxious to nip this new threat in the bud before it becomes something we really have to worry about." |

"You are right meleth, I guess I am just as anxious as you are. I do not think we can wait much longer but I will not me rash either..." Rye brushed the dust from her leggings and deep green tunic. |

"I'm sure we can come to a satisfying compromise," Meleth assured her. "Though maybe not as quickly as we might like." |

"Then I am satisfied and content" Ryninial took an apple from the pack she had took out of her tent, wiping it on her night sleeve and biting into it as her green eyes danced in the flames |
