James, the soldier was an odd on. He didn't know much about history, nor anything about the Winter at Valley Forge as he had first thought these people were reinacting. In fact he didn't really know anything that was going on at the moment. He had a feeling this was real, but in what ways he didn't know and it frightened him. Jacob was not easily frightened, but in a situation he had no knolwedge about he was helpless... and he hated it.
He wasn't exactly sure what James was going to do, but there wasn't any more damage this man could do to him and so he held his arms out. A knife was produced and his body tensed before relaxing as the rope was cut. "Why are you doing this? Isn't it an order for you to keep us captive?"
Jacob was sure this was the last thing he should be doing, telling the man how he was betraying orders, but it was really making him curious why he was being freed. "And... thanks..." he added as the stinging started to subside in his torn wrists.

obert frowned at Washington's order, but shrugged and sheathed his claymore. He pulled his pistol from his belt, and put the weapon at half-cock, pressing it into Lynn's back. "Move." he snapped, leading her to his tent. The man who had previously occupied the tent with him was dead, of the cold and a fever. He pulled the flap aside and gestured to the empy bunk with his pistol, sitting on his own. "Tha'll be your's until the Gen'r'l decides wha' tae do wi'ye." he said, pulling out a rag and cleaning his pistol, looking thoroughly disinterested.

Lynn looked at Chase and Rie for a moment before the man with the gun ordered her to move. She did so, though hesitantly, looking back at them more than once. Although the tent was only a few yards away from the rest of them it felt like she was secluded from the outer world when she entered the tent. Quietly she sat down on the bunk which was told to be 'her spot', hiding her hands in the sleeves of her sweater. Lynn hadn't felt anything of the cold until now and she wondered whether she was trembling of the cold or fear. She hadn't spoken until now and just watched the soldier carefully, half with curiosity and half with fright, wondering what was going to happen now.

"Yeh have a name Lass?" Robert asked, looking up as he replaced the pistol's flint and laid his mother's old weapon aside, moving to his claymore. The girl looked to be scared witless. Then again, she seemd to have been one of the less talkative, and SHE hadn't tried to attack him. Still, his parents had raised him to be courteous, and he was not about to defy an order. She was only a girl, after all.

"I.. yes.. It's Lynn.. Ashlynn Lewis." she said taken aback by this sudden question. She watched him loading his pistol but couldn't reassure herself with the fact she had only followed a couple of self-defense lessons in school. She decided to keep talking, to keep the man distracted of whatever else he was up to.
"What's yours?"

"Mine? Tis' Robert MacGregor. O' the Scottish Clan MacGregor." he said, dragging his whetstone across the claymore blade, looking to the oak leaves, the Stuart symbol, the symbol of the Jacobites, engraved in the steel. He looked up to see the fear in the girl's eyes. He put his sword down and leaned forward, reating his elbows on his knees. "Ah'll nae harm a lass unless she makes the first move. Ye hae none tae fear from me, ye ken?" he asked, watching the girl shiver. He shrugged out of his overcoat and tossed it to her, pulling his cloak over his shoulders.

"Then I do not fear you Robert MacGregor." Lynn responded somewhat relieved. "It's not often something that can be expected from men.." There was a short silence in which she grateful pulled the coat around her slim body to regain some warmth. Her hazel eyes looked puzzled at the soldier . "Obviously Scottish, I could have heard it by the accent.." she said, talking with more ease now. "But what is a Scot like you who bears his name with pride doing outiside Scotland?"

Robert shrugged at Lynn's question. " Ah never se' foot in mah homeland. Mah Grandfather fough' an' died on Culloden Moor, fightin' for Bonnie Prince Charlie. Mah father, he took the figh tae the seas when he was old enough. I was born off the Welsh coast. When Ah was old enough, Ah jumped ship in Boston and left tae gather Clansmen. Mah name, the MacGregor name, i'was a hangin offence until a few years ago. Mah friend were foun' out, and the Cause in America was destroyed. Ah joined Washington after tha'. The English mus' be repayed in blood faer thier crimes." he said in a low voice, running a callused thumb over the sharpened sword blade. "And yeh?" he asked, looking to Lynn.

"Your Welcome, Do you want me to retie you to the cut and waste good rope, when I have to change your bandges on your hands later. You'll be here for a while I can't tell you how long. General Washington thinks your british spies or something to do with the british. There is really no where to go really. You can go back north or south, I not sure if there is even a town or farm near here. It's the middle of winter too." James stopped. He stared at his feet and then stood.

Lynn listened to Robert's story, sometimes loosing track because of his fluent accent which she could barely understand. "That's sad.." she said after he'd finished. "You should go there one day, to Scotland. It's a beautiful place.." Lynn hugged her knees as she gazed through the tent. It was dark, cold and she imagined that she couldn't be anything but lonely here. Again she looked at the soldier, Robert. She usually didn't talk with complete strangers about herself.. or her past but realising that seemingly this was a soldier from George Washinton's army Lynn thought she could make an exception.
"I don't know how I got here.. we were lost in a blizzard during a school trip. My new school.. I moved alot you see."
For a moment she wasn't in the tent anymore with this soldier in the cold, but home in Florida, ten years ago..She was eight and sat on her favourite couch, dressed in black, staring at the floor. The funeral was just over and a strange lady from the childeren's protection service sat next to her and told her she was going to have what she called 'a new family.'
"New parents.. that's what I got." Lynn said, suddenly back in reality. "And when I didn't turn out to be what they hoped I would be, they brought me back, like some merchandise article. I think I moved almost every two years.."
Lynn was suprised by herself. This frustration had bothered her for a long time but it had never come out.. until now.
"But" she whispered quietly "I am no spy.."
[ Hm, I think Revenge (her charrie is Ellie) isn't here anymore.. ]

Robert frowned at Lynn story. He believed her, certainly, there was nought but truth in her words. But, to be traded like furs between parents, it was unnaceptable. He new the unsettled feeling, though. Being a pirate's son meant that you never stayed in a town for more than a day or two, before the Navy or Army arrived, looking for his father's head. Yes, he knew the instability well. Even with his father's crew as family, yes, he still saw thier faces in his dreams, he recognized that he had never really had friends his age, that he had had a martial life. And he had seen too many die in his childhood, despite his father's efforts. Alexander MacGregor had always been a tad obsessed with his fight.
"Ah unnerstan' the shiftin' life, a' leas'. Mah family, mah father's crew, we all had warrants fer our 'eads in England. We could ne'er stay in one place fer more than' a wee, if tha'. Bu' Ah'm sorry fer yer life, if'n Ah may say. T'be traded, no chil' should go through tha'."
He sheathed his claymore and listened. The sergeant was calling an end to the day. He didn't wast to face Von Steuben's wrath in the morning. He took his rifle from the floor, unscrewed the bayonet, tucked the blade and his pistol under his pillow, and paused. "Ah reco'nize that year nae Engliah. Ah see i' now. An tell yaer friend, the one Ah clubbed, that ah'm sorry." he said, then rolled onto his side on his bed and bulled his cloak about him falling into a sleep interrupted by the cold.

Lynn smiled at his words and her cheeks colored red. "Well I didn't make it easy for them sometimes.. but still." When he'd obviously gone to bed, she sat still, wondering whether she was free to go and see her friends. In fact Robert hadn't said a word about what was allowed or not.
[ Perhaps we should wait a bit until the rest caught up..]

[[ Ok... well then...hm... GW will still take Chase. I guess Jesse could go with Garret or Robert. ]]
George Washington unmounted his horse. He stood at 6 feet. He turned to look at Chase. Just because they could be British Spies, didn't mean that he would not treat the prisoners with respect. After all, they were only children. "Ready to go?"

Alan led John to a small tent some yards away from the fire. Nearly incoherent from the distinct lack of warmth added to the shock of the day, John stumbled into the tent. Expecting to be shackled hand and foot or some such nonsense like that, John was surprised when the other man merely sat down on the cot.
Alan had other things on his mind besides this boy who wouldn't be able to sneak up on a hare, much less have the stealth and cunning required for a spy. Sighing, Alan decided a few words may be worthwhile. "My name is Sergent Alan Gregory. I can see that you have enough wits about you to not try to escape a campful of soldiers, that is why I am not binding you. Try anyway, and you will likely be shot before you make ten yards." With that, Alan rolled over and attempted to catch some sleep before training the next day.
John merely sat in disbelief, staring at the man's back. Very softly, he spoke as if to himself. "My name is John Westlake. I grew up in Valley Forge and spent my entire life hearing its history....today was a typical field trip and somehow ended up here.. not a clue...my friends...oh jeez, my parents..." Barely even realizing he was just mumbling, Johnathon laid down and stared at the roof of the tent. "What am I gonna do?" He wasn't sure exactly when he fell asleep.
Alan stayed awake longer than he expected to, pondering what the boy had said. What were they going to do?

"We are not though, do we even sound British?" Jacob huffed as he crossed his arms around his chest, wincing as the wounds moved in the wrong way, it didn't help that he was sans gloves in the middle of a very harsh winter. Sighing he looked over at James and lost his stance, becoming more relaxed.
"I am sure that we will find somewhere to go... I just have to be with my friends...um.. thanks." Jacob was never really good at the whole thanking thing and so he nodded his head and left James' tent... he needed to find Rie and Lynn and all the others.
