"Ro, no!" Darius cried as she started to cough up more blood. Turning to Calista, he looked over at her helplessly. "Isn't there anything you can do?" he asked her. Biting her lip as she saw her friend cough up more blood, Calista felt her own heart clench in worry. Remembering that she still had some weaker herbal berries in her room, Calista slowly rose from her seat and walked back to her room. After rummaging through her drawer, she pulled out some of the berries and slowly made her way back over to Rosalina's room. As a wave of dizziness hit her, she had to stop and lean against the wall for a few minutes until the sensation passed. Finally making her way back to the room, she squeezed the berry juice into a cup before handing it to Darius. "Here, try to give her this," she said weakly. Nodding, Darius took the cup from Calista and gently lifting Rosalina so that her head was tilted back, he slowly began to trickle the juice down her throat.

As Rosalina started to choke, Darius stopped pouring the juice down her throat, praying that her coughing fit would pass so that he could try again. "Is there nothing else that can be done?" he asked Calista desperately.
"Like what?" Calista asked him.
"Gareth said that you can heal faster than most..." Darius began.
"Are you asking if I can heal her?" Calista asked softly.
"Can you?"
"I-I don't know. I can heal physical injuries on others but have never tried anything else..."

Rosalina stopped coughing, her breathing made the juice gurgle in her throat.

Hearing the gurgling, Darius grew more and more worried. Afraid that she may choke on the juice, laid the woman on her side, hoping that would force the liquid from her throat.
"We need some other method to help her!" Darius shouted as a panicked expression crossed over Calista's face as she no longer knew what to do.

"Please," Darius begged Calista. "Try and heal her."
"I can't. What if it doesn't work?" Calista asked suddenly afraid.
"But at least you would have tried," Darius said softly as he glanced over at the woman that lay limply on her side. "Please, you said she was your friend. Even if you may not be able to heal her completely, you may help to keep her alive until Gareth gets back."
Biting her lip, Calista knelt down beside Rosalina and focusing her energy in the same way that she did when she helped to heal Darius and healed Gareth years ago, she sent her energy into Rosalina, praying that this would work, but highly doubting it would.

Breathing heavily, Calista continued to pour her energy into Rosalina, feeling weaker by the moment, yet she refused to give up.
"Come back to me, love" Darius whispered to Rosalina. "Please, wake up," he whispered.

Upon finding the berries, Gareth quickly gathered a few and made his way back to the home, praying that Rosalina had the strength to hold on and that Calista did not do anything foolish.

Hearing Rosalina start to cough again, Calista tried to pour more healing energy into the woman, but as she grew weaker, the task became much harder to do. "Come on, my love," Darius whispered to Rosalina, completely heedless of the toll his request was taking on Calista.

Arriving back at the house, Gareth quickly raced back to the guestroom, sensing that something was terribly wrong. Upon entering, his heart nearly stopped beating in his chest as he saw Calista desperately trying to heal Rosalina even though the attempt was slowly killing her. "ROSE!" Gareth yelled as he rushed to her side and kneeling beside her, pulled her back from the unconscious woman. Falling back against the mage, Calista gazed up at him with glazed eyes. A sheen of sweat covered her pale face and each breath she took sounded labored. "Calista, what were you thinking? You can't help her while you are also weak, " Gareth whispered to her as he pressed a kiss to her clammy forehead.
"Gareth...I'm sorry..." Calista murmured as her blue eyes rolled back and she blacked out.

"Ro!" Darius shouted as his love vomited. "Help her!" he demanded Gareth.

"Calista!" Gareth shouted as the woman passed out cold in his arms and her body became limp. Placing his fingers at her neck, he hastily felt for her pulse, nor was he at all eased when he found that it was thready at best. Hearing Darius bark orders to him, Gareth could only glare at the man, a glimmer of pure hate in his eyes. "What did you do? You asked her to heal her didn't you?! Nor did you care how weak she became!" Gareth bellowed.
"Rosalina could have been dying!"
"Calista couldn't have healed her in her condition and you had no right to ask her to."
"Something needed to be done!"
"Well I hope you are satisfied. Calista always had a problem on knowing when to stop to attempt to heal others. You may have just killed her for no reason!" he snapped. "I should have you make your own brew!" Gareth growled as he gently laid Calista down before picking up the berries. Chanting a spell, he increased the potency of each berry thirty-fold before squeezing the juices into a decanter and mixing them together. "Here," Gareth told Darius coldly as he handed him the cup. Taking the vessel from the mage, Darius said nothing as he gently lifted Rosalina in his arms and slowly began to trickle the liquid down her throat.

Darius stopped pouring the juice down Rosalina's throat as she continued to vomit. "Do something!" Darius shouted at Gareth.
"What do you want me to do? What do I look like, a god?" Gareth snapped. "Most of the healing herbs I know must be taken orally or in the case of a wound, topically" he growled.
"So then there is nothing else that can be done?"
"I don't know," Gareth replied wearily. "And unfortunately Calista may have had some other ideas but she is out cold and barely clinging on to life," Gareth added as he shot an accusatory glare at Darius.
"She said she knew nothing else."
"You never know if she may have thought of something later on..." he muttered. "And in my eyes nothing will ever excuse how you pushed her."
