Smiling as Rosalina rested her head against him, Darius breathed a deep sigh of contentment as she gently ran his hand up and down the woman's back as she got some much needed sleep.

Pleased that Calista was not going to argue with him, he gently lifted the young woman from the chair and swept her into his arms. Smiling softly, Calista merely wrapped an arm around the mage's neck as she rested her head against his chest, breathing a soft sigh.
"Sleep, my love. You need it," Gareth whispered before planting a kiss on the top of her head before gently carrying her from the room.

Instantly alert as Rosalina began to cough, Darius decided to monitor her health closely, not wanting her to grow worse.

Nodding almost imperceptibly, Calista released another soft sigh as her eyelids drooped and fluttered close a few seconds later. Over the past few nights she had not slept well and Gareth's gentle walk had finally lulled the young woman to sleep. Smiling softly as he felt the woman's body slacken in his arms and heard her breathing start to even out, Gareth could tell that Calista had finally fallen asleep. Please let it be a peaceful one, he thought to himself as he walked back to her room.

When Calista did not awaken, Gareth just shook her harder to rouse her. Gasping as she opened her eyes, Calista glanced around the room as if she did not know where she was, her pale face covered in sweat.
"Gareth?" she whispered meekly after a moment.
"Shh, my love. I'm here," he whispered as he sat down on her bed and took her in his arms.

Giving Rosalina a sorrowful smile, Darius nodded and kissed her forehead gently. "Let me get you some juice," he whispered as he rose from the bed and squeezed some berry juice into a cup. Walking back over to the bed, Darius handed the cup over to her, wishing that he could just take away her suffering.

"I--I saw myself in a forest..being...being---" Calista whimpered unable to finish the sentence.
"Shhh, my love," Gareth whispered. "You are safe now. I'm here and I won't let anyone hurt you again," he whispered before pressing a gentle kiss to the crown of her head.

Shuddering, Calista sobbed quietly as she buried her face against Gareth's chest, the dream still very real to her. Feeling his heartbreak at her body wracking sobs, Gareth could only gently rub her back and murmur encouraging words to her as the young woman just cried in his arms.
