Sensing that Calista was still in pain but was trying to hide so as not to worry him, Gareth rose from the bed and after rekindling the fire began to heat a rag. Once that was finished, he lightly laid the cloth over her stomach.
Sighing softly as she finally opened her eyes, Calista gave Gareth a soft smile. "Thank you, my love. For everything," she whispered.
"I will always be here for you, my darling," Gareth whispered before leaning over her and gently kissing her lips.

"I'm just worried about your health, Rose. You've barely eaten these past two days and now you just vomited everything from your meal," Gareth remarked softly.
"Don't worry. I'll be okay," Calista whispered weakly.
