Zepher trimbled and swayed unsteadily on his feet. His great black body was flecked with white froth. "Take the child, she will need hands genteler than mine for a while." He said between gasps for air.
Galitaia did as he asked and took the girl from him. "Father?" She asked. "What happened? Where have you been?" She saw the bleeding wound on his flank and looked at Miyrietta, "Go get the old one quickly please?" She said , then reached out to steady her father.

Galitaia dared not set the child on her feet for fear that she would not be able to stand. "Father ... please lay down." She said looking at his thin body and knowing that whereever he has been he had not been treated well.

Zepher did as his duaghter asked. "We need to move the hurd as soon as possible." He said exaustion making his voice crack.

Mark got up as fast as he could and ran to the middle of the town with a torch. he yelled at the top of his lungs. "MEN OF THIS TOWN. JOIN ME, WE MUST SAVE OUR FAMILYS FROM AN UNSPEAKABLE EVIL IN THE FOREST. ONE OF THEM JUST ATTACKED ME OUT OF NOWHERE, AND TOOK MY CHILD." many heads peaked out of the small cottages. men hurried out with torches and swords and dagers ready for a fight. mark looked around satisfyed. "FOLLOW ME" he shouted once more.

Galitaia knelt and began to wash the wound. The old one trotted up took one look at the haggered appearance of Zepher and nearly shoved Galitaia out of the way in her haste.

Galitaia scrambled out of the way as the old one set to work she turned back to Meriana, "What happened?" She asked reaching out to brush the bruse that was forming on the child's cheek.

"maddie and i went home and were yelled at by our mother. then sent to bed. a few hours later i heard a loud bang...so i went to see what happend and thats when i saw your father in a cage in our barn! my father was about to hit him and i couldn't bare to see it done so i jumped out of my hiding spot and tired to save your dad. but my father hit me. then your father got lose and took me with him. i fear my father will do something drastic." Meriana's lip began to tremble remebering her father's large hand coming across her face.


Mark had gathered about 30 men and they all briskly walked through the woods. heading twards where mark had found the centar. "when i find that daughter of mine she will never forget the lesson i will teach her." he muttered under his breath.

Galitaia turned as one of the stalions that had been on sentry duty trotted up. "Lady Galitaia, there is a goup of about 30 of her kind heading for the far bank of the river. What should we do?" Glaitaia thought for a moment then said, "First get the young ones and the elders and wounded as far into the forest as possible." She looked at Meriana and said, "I want you to go home and get your sister. Tell her what has happened. Come back as soon as your can I will need your help." She looked back a the young stalion, "Rally all the stalions we will need all that can be spared."
