Carrying the tray of food into the room, Gareth set the food on the table and helped Calista to sit before setting the food on her lap. He had secretly talked with Dan and a priest was ready as soon as the couple named a day.

Once Calista finally finished the light meal, Gareth gently took the tray and dishes from her and set them on the side. "How are you feeling, love?" he asked her.
"A bit better," Calista replied softly although she was rather tired.
Sitting at her side, Gareth merely held her close and he lightly caressed her cheek as he gave her a sad smile. "My dear Rose," he whispered. "Fairer than all other blossoms in bloom," he whispered. "You shouldn't have to suffer so..."
"I'm all right, my love...truly," Calista remarked not wanting to worry him.
"Calista..." Gareth whispered to her seriously as he gently took her hands between his. "When you have recovered, will you do me the honor of standing before a priest with me so that we might be joined forever under the eyes of Heaven?" he asked. "I have loved you for so long," he whispered. "For you have awakened my soul as no other woman ever could. You taught me to see beauty in the world and became a healing light for my dark and barren heart. I cannot live without you."

Returning Rosalina's hug, Darius just pulled her close and he breathed in her scent. "Thank you, Ro," he murmured before a wide grin spread across his face. "For you have truly made me the happiest man.”

"Gareth, are you serious?" Calista whispered. "Do you mean for us to become husband and wife?"
"Yes, dear one. For I have never longed for anything more."
A sweet smile spread across Calista's lips then as her eyes glistened with tears of joy. "Yes," she whispered. "Yes! Oh, yes!!! Gareth, I will marry you!" she exclaimed as she flung herself against him and hugged him as tightly as her weak frame could manage.

Caught off guard by her reaction, Gareth barely managed to brace himself as Calista nearly tackled him in a hug. Quickly wrapping his arms around her, Gareth just held her close. "Thank you, my sweet Rose," he whispered in her ear.
"No, thank you, Gareth, my handsome mage and protector. For you have made me the happiest of women," she whispered as she raised her head to gaze up at him with love-filled eyes.
