Darian continued to scan the earth, finally spotting the dragon below. Urging Thalion into a decent, and urged Thalion to land a short distance away from her for he was careful not to agitate the beast below. From his position, the dragon looked to be slightly bruised but otherwise fine, which was a relief to him. He knew he could always fly back to tell the others what he had found, but he did not want to lose track of her-which he knew only left him with one option. He had the ability to read minds and send his thoughts out, but the receiver had to be sensitive enough to pick up the communication. Well, I might as well give it a try, he thought.

Callisto. he thought, sending his thoughts directly to her.

Callisto jolted upright as she heard someone call her name in her mind.

"Darian?" she said out loud, unable to hide her shock. She could communicate telepathically with creatures not bound to the shadows, but never before had she telepathically communicated with another human.

How? she questioned, focusing her thoughts to him.

I am a mage, as you are a light elemental. This just happens to be one of my gifts. he replied. Listen, he said without hesitation. I found her. I found the dragon.

Is she hurt?

She may be bruised, but other than that she is well.

That's a relief. Where are you?

In the woods, not far from here. I'll keep an out here to make sure no creatures return. Let your friends know.

Understood. she replied back as he ended the communication.

"Darian found Kiki” Callisto told Dune and Riko. “He says she’s slightly bruised by otherwise fine and is in the woods not far from here.” She stated simply.

"Vincent, what can your magic do? Could it either disguise or protect us?" He looked at the druid, realising he knew nothing of magic or its power. Magic could be an advantage for them.. but then the enemy might possess magic as well.

"I'm going out there." Galain stated. "Whatever it is, I want to know what they are, how many there are." He looked at the others around him. "I won't run and be hunted down like an animal. Can your magic help Vincent?"

Vincent thought for a moment then nodded.
"I can cast a disguise spell. Anything or anyone I've seen, I can make another look like them. But the spell only lasts for two hours. And, I can cast shield, but only to three people at a time. I have many other spells that could help in defense and offense," the druid said quickly, pulling out a small pocket book from under his cloak. It was bound in leather, and just bigger than one's hand. It also had a strange silver rune on the front. And anyone with a slight sixth sence could feel that there was power in it...

Dune sighed with relief,"At least Kiki is not badly hurt and is not far. When do we start looking for her?"

"Probably as soon as we meet up with the other elementalists." Riko said. He looked very distant.

"Riko?" The shapeshifter asked curiously,"You look distant." The merman looked at Dune,"I am." He looked back out over the valley,"They are gone. They are all gone, our friends, our families, everyone. Gone, dead. And know we have nothing to do about it." Dune frowned,"Don't make us sadder than we already are. We will avenge all of them. Let's just meet up with the other elementalists first, then find Kiki and Darrian. Then we will avenge our friends and family. How does that sound?" "That sounds good. Thank you Dune." Riko replied. Dune nodded his reply and then looked dreamily out into the distance.

Callisto sat quietly as she listened to Riko and Dune talk. She knew that they had to stop whatever it was that attacked their village. Why would any creature want to attack them-they had always been a peaceful people-hadn't they? Or was this some ancient vendetta that had yet to be resolved? "I think we have just witnessed only a small glimpse of our enemy. These creatures were strong and brutal-yes, but I fear they are only a front for a more powerful adversary," she said quietly. "If we are to face it, we will need to learn everything we can in order to be prepared..."

(okay Will) Dune nodded, thinking,"True. That's very true. Will you call for a meeting?"


On the ground, Minna awoke, groaning. She sat up and looked up at Callisto groggily,"Well? How's Kiki? Did Darien find her?"

"Kiki's fine, Minna." Dune replied softly,"We're just planning a way to learn about these creatures as much as we can."

"Kiki's in the woods not far from here." Callisto told Minna, hoping to ease her concerns. "Darian is there as well, keeping a look out to make sure the creatures we fought earlier do not return." She then turned her attention to Dune. "I could try to call everyone telepathically, or we could look for them..." she replied.

Minna smiled and got up, having nearly almost recovered completely,"Well that's good. And I'm feeling loads better too." Dune grinned,"That's good, I'm glad you're feeling better Minna." "Me too." Riko said softly and then turned his attention away. Dune then looked at Callisto,"Will it drain your magic? We need to keep our strength for fighting these creatures. And yet again, it will take time to find all the other elementalists."


"Too late." Minna said dryly. Both Dune and Riko looked at her curiously. The air elemental was glowing sapphire, her message was calling out to the remaining elementalists to come for a meeting.

Callisto smiled, relieved to see that Minna seemed to have nearly recovered fully. She was about to answer Dune when Minna spoke again. "Minna, are you sure that is wise? Do not exert yourself..." she said, frowing slightly in concern.

Minna opened an eye,"Too late. I can't stop now. And besides, I feel just fine." She shut her eye with a smile.


"Just tell me when you start feeling the message."

Slowly, her message flowed into the ground and started to spread away from their group towards any elementals that were close by in strands of energy.

Callisto felt the message almost as soon as Minna sent it-not surprising since she was only a few feet from her. "Well I can feel it..." she said quietly. "If the others are not too far, they should start to feel it soon" she replied.

"No, it shouldn't take long," Vincent said, propping his staff up with his shoulder, and flipped through the small book. "Lets see... fire ball spell, freezing spell, palarlyze, haste, hairless curse. Ah, here it is. Disguise spell."

Sierra had been listening, and came up to them.
"If you can, I'd like to go to. Could you do that?" She asked Vincent, who nodded.

"Easily."
