"Billy! It's so good to see you!" Cate exclaimed, pearl-white teeth smiling. She turned to face Keira. "It's great to have you all here." She closed the door gently before turning to face the small group of guests. "I've prepared snacks in the kitchen - help yourself."

Billy smiled and let go as Keira nodded and thanked her. "I'd better wait. Or all the food will be gone. Now, Dom better be here." Billy left to find one of his best friends and Keira walked over to the snack table.

This time, the doorbell rang, signaling the arrival of another guest. Cate opened the door, smiling as best she could. Hosting a party was a lot of running around...
A blonde girl stood on the steps dressed in a long overcoat with faux fur lining.
"Oh, hi, Hoku."
"Hey, Cate. I hope I'm not late."
"Not at all, come in!" Cate ushered the teenager inside and noted the snow was steadily turning into a blizzard.
Hoku hung her coat in the closet and set her present down on the table before heading over to talk to the other guests.

Billy was looking under the table for Dom, causing Keira to spit out her drink in laughter and some other guest to laugh. "He is so stupid." She said to no one, aloud.
