Cyznul emerged at that instant, holding a dagger to Gynt's throat. "Who are you?"

Gynt shifted his gaze towards the figure behind him. Another drow. What the hell? What were two drow doing up here? He narrowed his eyes.

"A little far from home, don't you think?" Gynt whipped around his free hand, placing a dagger of his own, threateningly, in front of the drow's face.

Xarw smirked and got up with an amused face as he held his ribs. He examined this stranger as his vision began to clear slightly and raised his eyebrown.

"Indeed we are, but I guess we can`t really call that place our home anymore as we would basicly get killed should we ever return you see. Yet despite your threatening attitude I am curious, besides whom you are I want to know what you are."

“What I am is none of your business.” He lowered his weapons, giving both drow ominous looks. “My name is Gynt.”

Returning the short sword back to its sheath, Gynt crossed his arms. “So you run away from home and come up here, two drow seeking refuge in the surface world.”

"Indeed, but for what I know we aren`t appriciated here so you may try to report about us to some elves or even rangers that might want to hunt us down.... "

Xarw said with grin as he tookout some of his gears and picked out bandages that he began to wrap around his wounds after pouring some water on them from a flask to wash away the blood.

Though he worked not to show it, Cyznul too was weak from the excessive spellcasting. He leaned against a stalagmite and began attending his wounds. As he worked, he eyed both Xarw and Gynt in turn.

"It would be greatly appreciated if you would point the way to a few potential allies here. Say... priests of the Masked Lord?"

"Not going to work.... my former master has connections to all of them undoutably and we would be killed by them in the end, but..."

Xarw coughed after he tightened the last bandage on his shoulder and grinned as he looked at Cyznul.

"Why do you think we need allies? Hmh? I am not going to return to the underdark nor too many drows operate on the surface... except for the worshippers of Eilistraee..."

Xarw couldn`t help laughing outloud at the thought that they would go for their help.

Cyznul scowled. "Two drow on the surface world, with no allies and no knowledge whatsoever? The priestesses of Eilistraee will be after our blood, not to mention the surface elves and humans."

"Not if we stay out of sight, then we will be out of mind.... we can easily stael food from human villages as I have been on the surface few times before along with some groups. No one will suspect drows at first hand, but that doesn`t really bother me... what bothers me is the thing that are we going to stay put in one place and move from there or are we going to travel without a destination?"

Xarw said raising his eyebrown.

"Explore the surrounding terrain?" Cyznul suggested, moving for the cave entrance. He peered outside, seeing forest in all directions. Unable to contain his wonder, he stepped fully out into the night.

Towering trees, moist from the recent spring rains, surrounded him, so much taller than the mushrooms in Menzoberranzan. Beyond the canopy of woodland he glimpsed a shining silver orb that mildly stung his eyes. The sun, he assumed.

Xarw forced himseld to get up and used his rapier for support by sticking it againt the cave floor, as he finally stumbled to his feet he placed his weapons on his belt and walked to the entrance of the cave. He leaned onto the wall and examined the surroundings, he muttered something and began going trough a small box of scrolls he had with him on his belt.

A nice present from Jarlaxle once upon a time as he was sent on a dangerous mission, he had checked it for anything even suggesting towards magical traps and had found nothing. He began going trough the scrolls and then found what he was looking for, he gazed at the moon quietly and examined the map.

"Now all we need is to find a city or a landmark you couldn`t miss..."

He muttered with a pondering face as he had began to follow Cyznul.

"Well I think we`d better travel at night and avoid the bloody sun when it does get up, happens to take away the cover of darkness and two drows in open terrain ecspecially would be too regonizable..."

Cyznul refrained from asking the question that inexorably rose on his lips, That bright, irritating thing isn't the sun? He pulled his cowl up over his head, feeling more comfortable in its shadowy depths. With a nod of acquiescence, he dug in the pockets of his piwafwi and unearthed the needed spell components. He took a few steps out of the cave and began to cast.

As soon as the first syllable rasped from his throat, exactly four runes burned themselves on four separate trees surrounding him. Four beams of light shot out from each of the runes, coalescing where he stood. Chanting slowly, he spread his arms out and rotated slowly in a circle. He slumped when at last the magic drained out of him. The runes pulsed defiantly one last time before dimming.

"We are south of a mountain range known as the Spine of the World, and ten miles north of a human city called Luskan," he reported. "If we travel due south, we should reach Luskan by daybreak."

[I forget what time period this is in; does Jarlaxle still have agents in Luskan?]

(Not to my knowledge)

Xarw marked their position of a map by pouring a small drop of liquid from a vial that he had on his belt, he waited a while and then scrolled the map, he placed it in the box.

"Shall we go then?"

He said before walking into the night hoping that the wouldn`t be noticed not to mention that they could get into Luskan.

Cyznul followed wordlessly. He was already finding this World Above an irritating place.

When the first rays of daybreak broke over the east, the drow stood on a hillock overlooking the human city Luskan.

Cyznul smiled as he looked at Luskan and sort of waved his hand.

"Hmh... Let`s see, if we can fit in here somewhere..."

A brilliant light just cresting the eastern horizon drew Cyznul's gaze. "What in the Nine Hells..." he muttered, feeling his eyes sting with sharp pain. He shielded his sensitive eyes against the blinding glare and pulled his cowl even lower. He turned his attention back to the human city. "A polymorph spell would suffice," he suggested.
