Dani kept her mouth sufficently shut as James walked past her. She rolled her eyes, sighed, and continued up the staircase. <i>Hopefully</i> - if all went well - she'd have at least a half-hour alone...that was all she needed. She went into the Common Room, up the stairs, and into the Dormitory, where she dropped her bag, magically locked the door, collapsed face-first onto her bed, and burst into tears. She put her arms on either side of her pillow and just let it all out for about three minutes...then she took out her wand, unlocked the door from her bed, and dozed off. Tomorrow was Friday...and she didn't have any homework due immediately. She had time to sleep.

James took his regular seat by the Gryffindor table and leaned back on the wall. After yesterday's fiasco he couln't hope anything what happened today, would happen. Well, he was just lucky. That was the only possible explanation. And he had great friends. Suddenly he remembered Dani and closed his eyes. That was still closed subject. And looking back at Sirius he decided not to say anything for awhile.

Remus peered from behind the open double doors to the Great Hall. His friends were all sitting together at the Gryffindor table. James seemed not his usual self. He spotted Fiona sitting next to him. He took a breath, straightened his robes.

Have I suddenly gotten overconfident?

The winter ball was tomorrow, and he had been bluffing when he said he wasn't going. The few love affairs he'd had in his life had not gone well. As Prongs and Padfoot were wont to remind him, werewolves would always be werewolves. His cheeks deepened to an uncharacteristic flush as he tried to sort out his feelings for Fiona. She was a reliable friend. He was not infatuated with her, as James appeared to be with Lily.

I'm just trying to have another go at it.

Contenting himself with this assumption, he strode into the Great Hall.

Lily sat next to james that morin go nthe Gryffindor table,"So have you all found partners for the ball yet?" she asked,"I have..."

Sirius entered the Great Hall and sat down across from Lily, he looked up at her, his eyes dark, menacing almost.
"No" he answered his question, he was still confused inside, his feelings towards Danni Smith were nothingas they used to be and it was tearing him up inside.
Man this sucks he thought to himself....

Fiona was taken aback as James kissed her on the cheek, she smiled and hugged him, just as Remus sat down next to Sirius.
"Your welcome Sweetie" she replied as they sat down at the table, she looked up and saw Lily, feeling the memories of the previous day attacking her she took a deep breath.
"Lily, i'm sorry" she said suddenly, she looked into Lily's green eyes, hoping that Lily would be able to forgive her.

"Thanks for making me jealous," she laughed and hugged her.

"I'm sorry too..."

Fiona smiled back and hugged Lily, relife filled her whole body.
"Man i'm so glad that's all over" she said as they broke apart, she turned back to the table and pourded herself a glass of pumpkin juice and pilled some food on her plate, somthing she hadn't been able to do through the guilt she had been putting herself through.
She looked up and noticed Remus, she smiled at him.
"Hey Moony, what's up?" she asked him

Lily looked around for Danni. Where on earth was she? They needed to talk Codename : Sirius Black

Dani awoke with a start. She had just had another dream about the water...but this one was different...she had had two dreams already of the same place and idea, but each had been different...one in which she was rushing into the surf of the ocean and feeling like she was going into the deep water too quickly, losing her control; another one in which she was drowning and went underwater, then realized she wasn't dead, and broke the surface; now, she was on the shore again, having mastered the water, going in and out as she pleased...

Suddenly, she jerked and turned around as she heard footsteps on the staircase.

Lily decided to go and look in Gryffindor Tower. She spotted Dani, who had only just woken up,
"Dani. The ball is thisevening, if you don't get Sirius, someone else wil!"

Dani shook her head and buried her face in her pillow again. "First off, the ball's tomorrow night. Secondly, Sirius is - well, he isn't -...." she sighed in frustration. "Look, I just don't want to go with him, okay?!"

"It is tomorrow? Oh well. Anyway. You are going to embarress yourself if you haven't got a partner. Look- I'm even going with James!" she blushed,
"Turns out, he did it to make me jealous. Anyway. you can tell Sirius likes you and I know you like him, so why don't you just ask him?"

Dani listened to Lily, pulling herself up in her covers so that she was sitting. She wiped her eye and smiled for Lily as she told her about James. "How will I make a fool of myself without a partner?" she asked, "I'm not even going!"
