Alex slipped the last pin into her mouth so that her captors would not notice it. She had grown up a pick-pocket, and now she was grateful for the experience.

((Into her mouth.. okay, you try this at home: cuff your hands behind your back. Three people in the room guard you and then slip a metal pin into your mouth unnoticed.. Gosh.. you are given the chance to escape as Cole is able to help you. But please post some quality.
Sorry guys.. I'll shut up now.. ))

“Come on, Emma,” Edward gestured, the morning sun beginning to bathe Port Royal in a golden light. They had to move now before someone saw them and they all ended up with a noose around their necks. The band of pirates began heading down mazes of alleyways, each twisting and turning around the city like snakes. Before long, the Applegate house came into view and Edward’s pace slowed, surveying the porch. Cole was supposed to be waiting outside for them but he was nowhere to be found…
-----------
[[A little remorse in here… huzzah! Maybe the baddies to have a heart sometimes… ]]
Keyara turned slowly back to face him, all hardness washed away from her expression. As she spoke she was not cocky or snide or ready to counter with some rude remark. Instead, the person that sat before Beckett now was a gentler, younger version of herself, something she had not allowed anyone to see since her parents died. “How do you put so much faith and time into something like the East India Company?” She repeated softly. “There’s so much trust between you and your men, you never have to worry about one of them turning around and betraying you.” At this she began to remember how she had so cruelly left Vari to die - her only sister. Keyara suddenly wished she had done something different in the past so that she wouldn’t be sitting here, trying to earn trust and honor for herself. So that maybe people would think higher of her instead of a lying charlatan when it came to friendship. And so she sat, wishing that things had been different for the very first time in her life.
-----------
[[Ooh, good starter, PD! ]]
Vari rolled over and opened her eyes, squinting in the dim sunlight. Carmon’s voice had woken her up and suddenly everything came back to her. She was here, in the Applegate house, about to be dressed up like a doll and taught to speak properly. And the corset - probably more painful than being stabbed in a swordfight, she thought.
Vari sat up slowly, rubbing her back. To tell the truth, blankets did nothing when one was sleeping on a hardwood floor, no matter how thick. “Good morning, Carmon. I suppose it’s time then?” She asked, knowing there was no way to escape the torture that was about to happen.

Sam slowed down and looked -although she herself didn't want to admit it, but with admiration- at the large mansion of the Applegates. Everything within her screamed not to go in there, not to be foolish but her feet remained where they were. "Now what?" she whispered and she looked at Edward, as he was the leader of their little operation. She wanted to read his mind: what was his plan..? how sure was he that Cole was in fact a friend? What had happened after the time she left him and Vari?
She forced herself to look at the house again: it was classy, large windows, probably abnormal sizes of rooms, the white plastered walls covered with ivy. Ivy! Sam thought.
"Do ye know which room is Cole's?" she said "I could clim up there.. I'm a good climber ye know.."

(great, Will! Now everything is clear... (and I'm glad I made sense ))
(just calm down, Millie! your character will be able to escape soon with just a little help... there's no need to rush things and whatnot. )
Cole quickly picked up on the Commodore's frown but only gave a meek smile in return. He cursed himself for growing up the honest one in the family. Because now that it came time to get sneaky he found he wasn't very good at it. Cole gave a quick nod of his head at Norrington's answer and muttered a "good day". But his interest was caught again when the soldier found Alex's secret and revealed it to the Commodore.
______________
Emma quickly followed the rest down the streets until they were in front of it, the Applegate household. By the look on Sam's face, Emma knew they were thinking the same thing. It was suicide to go in that house! She was beginning to regret ever blindly placing her trust in Edward and his confidence in his friend. "aye, where is your friend, Ed?"
Lotty had heard of the Applegate house so the size and grand style of it didn't daunt her as much as it did Sam and Emma. But she had still never seen it in person. "I thought you said he would be on the porch waiting, Edward?" she gave the porch another look but, again, found it empty.
_____________
(aye, Aramel! and that was really good! It's nice to see they might have a softer side. and we can explore both our characters further through that... (*clears throat* and you know Becky and what he would have to feel sorry about )
Being the kind of man Beckett was he quickly picked up on Keyara's change. It was easily evident throughout all her features and in the way she talked. He wasn't exactly sure how to take this sudden change, and it threw him off guard for several minutes. But soon he came back to himself and was sure this must be some sort of trap. Very sly of this girl, he thought. "how do I do it?" he got up and walked to the window. He even had to think over her question - but not for long. "It's quite simple really. They obey the ones they respect. And I have made it my mission, almost my whole life, to demand that respect and honor to make the East India Company what it is today. When you're someone like me it's easy to put your faith into a growing company like this. It's strong and powerful and you can feel that. You can feel the want to expand and explore new places that propels the whole company forward. And why would you not want to put all your time and energy and even perhaps your whole life into such a growing endeavor?" a small smile was on his face, and his voice sounded somewhat like the kind a pleased father might have when his son made him proud. The East India Trading Company was Beckett's pride and joy. But he suddenly stopped as he thought about the betraying part of her comment. She didn't even know, but he did worry about that. A lot. He hadn't gotten this high without hurting some people who would die to repay him the hurt. Actually there were many people he worried about on some occasion or another. Beckett broke out of his thoughts when he realized Keyara had grown silent as well. He turned from the window and stood facing her again and studied her. "is something the matter, Ms. Pierce?" he gave her a concerned look. Deep down Beckett knew something tragic was on her mind. And he would be there to comfort her and be a friend. After all.... It's just good business

(thanks! )
"aye." Carmon was out of bed and to the wardrobe already. She picked out the dress and shoes she had shown Vari the night before and laid them out on the bed. Then she went back and came out with something for herself. The corsets were last to come out. Quickly Carmon began getting dressed in her usual way; well, not exactly the usual way since she had decided with Vari there not to let the maids help. And that made it much more difficult to get the many layers on. She gave Vari a questioning look, "Aren't you going to get dressed like we discussed?"

“I don’t know why he isn’t here… he promised me he would be waiting…” I hope nothing has happened to him. Edward then looked concernedly at Sam. “I don’t want ye taking that risk,” he said, “if ye fall, you’ll be killed.” His emerald eyes stared into hers and he held her back. “I don’t want to risk that.” Edward stood like that for a while - could she not see how much he cared about her? Things were complicated enough and to see his closest friend fall to her death would crush him. “Sam…” He pushed a lock of hair behind her ear before bracing his hands on her shoulders. Suddenly Edward felt his head begin to spin - perhaps it was the fact that he had not eaten in nearly a day, or maybe it was something entirely different…
-----------
Keyara glanced up at Beckett, still lost in her own thoughts. She ignored him for a moment, taking another long sip of tea. No matter how much she didn’t want them to, the memories began flooding back. It had been 14 years since she had run away from home after her mother, Maribel, died of an incurable disease. Keyara wondered just how her mother put up with their father’s lies for so many years. And Vari… she left the poor girl to die. Even though she had chosen the way of piracy, some pity for her older sister still rested in the bottom of Keyara’s heart. “Something is the matter,” she responded in almost an inaudible voice. Placing her teacup on Beckett’s desk, Keyara now looked up to meet his eyes. “Have you ever hurt someone so deeply without realizing that perhaps it wasn’t the very best thing to do?” She searched his face for some kind of answer as if trying to read his past.
-----------
Vari glanced from Carmon to the corsets and back to Carmon. “I’ve not worn one of these bloody things since I was a little girl.” She held one of the corsets up and looked at it distastefully. How women could torture themselves with these things, Vari would never know or understand. She began undressing, peeling back the layers of trinkets and coins she had gotten from gambling the night before. Finally she paused to ask for help with the corset. “What are your parents going to think about this whole situation?”

"We did a hell of a lot more dangerous things" Sam replied quietly. She forced herself not to drown in his green eyes and risk that her shield of courage crumbled. "No.." she whispered and she bit her lip as the took a few paces back. "I'm not waitin' here.." she shook her head. "Ye know, over there" and she nodded to her left. "There's the Commodore's house and over there.." she pointed to her right. "There's the fort. It will be swirmin' with soldiers here soon savy?" Sam placed her hands on her hips and her face was determined: she couldn't be convinced otherwise anymore.
"Ye told me to trust Cole, now I want ye to trust me.." Suddenly Sam's voice broke. "Edward? Are ye alright?"
-------------
"All clear" the soldier said relieved and he dragged Alex to the door. The Commodore followed them. Slowly the first rays of the sun were to warm the moist earth and here, in the sunlight, James stood still for a moment. His eyes closed, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his skin. How he wished the warm rays of sun could sweep away the dark memories of yesterday, as it swept away the cold.
"Commodore!"
Norrington woke up from his thoughts and noticed the soldier was ready to leave, the prisoner behind him on his brown mare. The light dimmed as the sun was covered by a cloud and James shivered as the air felt chilly without the warmth of the sun. And he realised that nothing could make the actions of the past undone..

At Edward's response Emma just stared at him in amazement. What was wrong with him? And why was he getting all strange around Sam? She looked back and forth between them as they conversed. He had told them to have faith in his friend, well, where was his friend now? "Sam's right, you know. We can't just stand here and hope they don't see us." During this time, Lotty simply gave the house before them a concerned look until something caught her eye, "wait! look!" she grabbed Edward's arm and pointed at the door to the Commodore's house opening and out came some people. "hide!" she whispered.
_____________
Will Turner, after a good night's sleep, exited the small place where he stayed above where Mr. Brown, his master, lived. The town had already begun to bustle around and the smells of fresh goods being made wafted to him. He smiled at another bright day and started to make his way down the street. He noticed today, however, that more people were paying attention to him than they ever did before.
(it seems like Will is the only one having a good day. btw, Will (the AU person ), are we still gonna have Norrie and my Will meet up?)
______________
Cole followed the soldiers and the Commodore out of the house and into the dim morning. He watched as Norrington mounted and prepared to go off to the fort with his soldiers and the prisoner. He wished he could just talk to her once all alone. He would just have to follow them and wait til she was locked up and alone. He didn't noticed Edward or the girls from where they stood in silence.
________________
An amused look came across Carmon's face, "well, today will be the day you will change that." After getting fully dressed herself, she looked with fascination at all the trinkets and coins Vari kept on her person. She waited, and when finally asked, she put her full force into pulling the corset strings as tight as she could. "just tell me when it's enough..... my parents? If I tell my mother that you're a new friend and your father and your mother and you just came in on a boat yesterday that'll be enough. And my step-father might be more nosy. But you're smart, so I think we'll be able to fool him." she gave Vari a wicked smile while she pulled the laces even tighter. "after breakfast you'll have to talk to Cole about a ship."
________________
Lord Beckett didn't exactly like Keyara just ignoring him, but he acted like it didn't bother him in the slightest. Now that she seemed to be crumbling she would be easier than ever to break and use. Beckett decided he would just sit there and be a comforting presence for this girl. Did he feel bad for her and what he figured she was feeling? It was hard to tell by the look on his face, as it always was with Lord Beckett, so it shall be left up to the reader to decide. "I figured that something was." he replied smooth and comfortingly. He was taken aback by her question, however. It wasn't exactly what he had expected. He didn't like the looks she was giving him as if he was now the one on the spotlight and it was his turn to be studied. He got up from his chair again and walked over to the window. "and why do you ask that? ......have you?" he turned around and faced her with a calm look on his face.
(no need to be sorry, Anie! we're at the next morning now... I'm sorry that it's getting confusing for you... )

(( I guess it would be really Sam-ish to run for the house, not even noticing Cole Don't know whether you'll like that..
PD, yes they should. One way or the other he's going to the Fort and notice the missing prisoners. A slap in his facew that will be of course, perhaps that the right moment for Will to show up or meet?
Anie, it is the next morning ))

Ragetti followed the Commadore on light feet, hoping that Anamaria had gotten to the ship, and was not waiting along the path to the Fort. There was no telling what would happen if they were caught.

Edward appeared as if coming out of a trance. I do trust ye, Sam… Shaking his greasy head, he took his hand off of Sam’s shoulder. “I’m… I’m fine.” What just happened?, he thought, but was suddenly taken aback by Lotty tugging on his arm. Then he saw it. Soldiers were filing out of the Commodore’s residence and now that the sun was rising all hope of remaining hidden was gone. Edward glanced around quickly before spotting an open window and making the decision that Sam was right. They had to either climb the ivy on the side of the house or risk being sitting ducks. “Come on!” He called softly before beginning the dangerous ascension. Hopefully Cole would show up soon…
-----------
Vari winced as the corset was pulled tighter around her torso. “That’s tight enough!” she gasped, thinking that getting shot would be less painful than this. Vari stopped as Carmon mentioned her father and mother. All of the memories of her mother telling her and Keyara stories of pirates and the high seas came back. She could still remember how her father, Peter, never approved of his wife filling his daughters’ heads with fanciful ideas like that. The last thing Maribel Pierce had ever told her eldest daughter echoed in Vari’s mind. “There is a thin line between wrong and right, Varianna, between piracy and decency. Times are changing and soon you need to decide which one you are going to pursue. I know that you’ll make the right choice and no matter what path you choose, I’ll always be proud of you, Degaldo…” That was the last Vari had spoken to her mother. A few hours later Maribel was taken by influenza and buried under a sapling in their backyard. It still hurt to think about it. Varianna looked at Carmon, giving her a weak smile. “I’m sure we’ll make it work somehow.” She slipped into the blue dress and smoothed it out before putting on the pair of slippers. They were a bit tight, but for now they would have to do. “And what are we going to do with my hair? Curl it? Tie it in bows?” She smirked sarcastically.
-----------
Keyara was a bit shocked when Beckett turned the question around. It certainly caught her off guard, but that was how this whole day had been going. When one question was asked, another was used as a reply. It seemed to be going in endless circles, so finally she sighed. “Well, I was simply curious, Lord Beckett. I suppose everyone’s hurt their own share of people in one way or another. For me it was my sister. I left her alone to die, not giving a second thought about how she was feeling, only how I felt. I do regret it. Although if I met her now I doubt it’d be a something like sisterly reunion.” Keyara stopped, placing another sugar cube in her tea and stirring it around. “I’ve told you my story and now I’d much appreciate it if you would answer my question.” Her green eyes watched him carefully and a smirk played across her face.

Elizabeth couldn't help wishing, as she got ready for the day, that Will would come and see her. Since he'd finally gotten bold enough to admit he loved her, there had been a warm, tingly feeling spreading all through her that hadn't gone away since they'd parted ways the previous night. She couldn't wait to see him again to make sure it all really had happened, and wasn't just another dream. I wonder if he'd be willing to give me some lessons with the sword, she thought. After all, I might be a lady, but even a lady needs to know how to protect herself. Maybe I'll go to the smithy and ask him.

Sam had already sprinted off at the moment the Commodore appeared outside. Cole or no Cole, she wasn't going to wait until Norrington would come and arrest them personally. She ran over the lane through the garden like a shadow to the right-side of the house. Sam didn't stop to rest or wait for the others. If she would be caught now.. Sam shivered and tried not to think of this. Placing her feet on the branches it seemed almost too easy to climb up.. Now she'd only had to hope that it was the right room..

(Oooo, I like that idea, Will! Sounds great! so why don't you have Norrie take them there? I'll take my time with Will and have him pass by the fort before going to the Swann mansion. )
As Will continued down the street he began to feel more and more awkward about how he was being looked at my almost everyone. Many of these people were the Swanns' friends or worse the Commodore's friends. He wondered if they really resented a poor blacksmith like him that much for just finding true love. Suddenly a fear struck him. He hoped Elizabeth would still feel the same way, but more importantly that her father would.
_______________
After Sam had run off, and been followed closely by Edward, Charlotte and then Emma sprinted to the house. Without another thought Charlotte took a hold of the ivy right behind Edward and began to climb. She was relieved they were getting out of sight as fast as possible. "do ye think we're notable climbing up here? After all there are four of us climbing up a wall. And don't ye think that's probably unusual for a town like this?" Emma whispered up to Edward and gave a wry smile.
______________
"ok." Carmon stopped pulling. She waited for Vari to say something, but the other girl seemed quite lost in thought. Carmon watched her nervously for a few moments as Vari seemed to be thinking over something sad. When an answer finally came Carmon still noted the sad way Vari said it and looked. She silently stood, lightly resting her hand on one of the four posts on her bed, and watched her finish getting dressed. Carmon wondered if she had said or done something wrong. Ignoring Vari's comment on the hair she said, "I'm sorry. Did I say something wrong?" Cole was always telling her she needed to watch her tongue more, but she ignored him most of the time. Maybe he was right after all?
________________
(ahhh, the question game. these are always lots of fun )
Lord Beckett noted the shocked look that passed across Keyara's face, although almost anyone could've caught it this time. Beckett wondered if she had actually thought he would sit there and just put up with being interrogated by her. Of course he wouldn't. He could tell by the look on her face she was struggling with something so obviously whatever she asked him had to be something which was on her own mind, right? He could get more information out of her in her weak time without her even knowing it by simply asking her her own questions. Spinning her in circles as it were. She would be so caught up in her own misery she would answer him without giving it a second guess. And maybe it would be something worth his time. Although the more he thought about it the more he reasoned it was probably just some silly thing from her past. When her answer finally came he was rewarded with knowing he was right about it being something silly from her past. It was her sister again. That pirate-turned girl who was worth no more than Beckett's new pair of boots had the girl in front of him worried about leaving her alone to die? Although he didn't really want to hear about her problems with herself or her sister, Beckett put on a good and caring act to make Keyara think he did. By now he was standing by the table Keyara was sitting at so they were rather close. However, any smug thoughts left his mind as he heard her question and noticed her small smirk. Was she only playing him with her sad story about her sister? Lord Beckett remained where he was, deep in thought. He wasn't sure how to answer her question. "yes"? "no"? "yes" would then lead to a "how" and "why" and he didn't want to get into a big discussion about his past with this girl. Yet "no" wouldn't be exactly truthful and yet it wouldn’t be an exact lie either.
(hmmm, you know what? Wouldn't it be fun to have Becky and Keyara become closer "friends" without either even realizing it? I mean they've done a lot of the same things and everything... I dunno, just something to think over )
__________
not sure where Norrie is so I guess I won't post anything with Cole for now...
