Darius howled in pain and tried shaking the wolf off of him but to no avail. Seeing two other wolves leap upon him from the corner of his eye, he turned and incenerated them with a wave of fire.

"I should go out and look for them..." Gareth murmured to Calista.
"I'm coming with you," Calista insisted.
"No, it is too dangerous. You need to stay here."
"But..." Calista started to protest.
"Love, how will I be able to help them and myself if I am worried about you?" he whispered as he drew her close. "Please, just stay here," he whispered in her ear.
Sighing softly, Calista slowly nodded, tears of worry in her eyes. "Be safe my love. Come back to me unharmed," she whispered before she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately on the lips.

Darius incenerated two more wolves as he tried desperately to shake the one on his back from him.

Gareth let the kiss linger for a few minutes longer before he reluctantly pulled back. "I will be safe," the mage murmured to her as he gently cupped Calista's face between his hands and kissed her lips tenderly once more. "Just rest and take care of yourself my love," he whispered before he walked out the door and used the wind to carry him away as Calista stared after his retreating form until she could see him no more.

Using the wind, Gareth travelled as quickly as he possibly could, his instincts telling him that something was terribly wrong.

The wolf howled as the rock hit its body and turned to growl at Rosalina though it did not remove its claws from Darius' back.

Hearing the howl of a wolf on the wind, Gareth followed the sound until he came across Darius, Rosalina and the survivors from the pack of wolves. "Blessed heaven!" Gareth exclaimed as a beam of fire appeared in his hands.

Darius incinerated the wolves that approached him with a blast of fire, growling in pain as the claws from the wolf on top of him dug deeper into his back.

Sending a small beam of fire at the wolf, Gareth badly singed the beast's fur, though he dared not to incinerate it while the creature was on the hybrid's back. Snarling in anger as saliva dripped from its savage lips, the beast leapt from Darius' back to attack the mage. Not wasting a minute, Gareth summoned a larger wave of fire and quickly incinerated the beast, its dying howls soon fading in the air.
