Edward clung tightly to the ivy as if he was about to fall off. Don’t look down, don’t look down… He slowly twisted his head back to look at Emma as he hung there, trying not to imagine falling and splatting on the ground. “Well, it’s better than sittin’ out in the broad daylight, savvy? An’ it probably isn’t normal, but with the stuff that’s been going on ’round here, it might just become usual, aye?” Edward then turned his gaze upward and continued climbing, smirking to himself all the way.

Vari took a few seconds to finish remembering before shaking her head and making the memories go away. “It’s nothin’, Carmon… just some bad memories is all. But let’s not worry about that now, alright? Your mother is going to be wondering where you are and I’m not fixed up yet.” She beckoned Carmon over to help her do something with her hair before her parents trudged upstairs.

Keyara noticed how close Beckett had moved and began to feel a little uncomfortable. His presence was indeed quite intimidating and constantly being watched made her feel like she was a little field mouse and he was a ravenous falcon. Every answer she gave only made her feel even more vulnerable as he did not answer the questions she supplied. A thin line was occurring between friends and enemies and soon the two would merge. Trust no one except yourself… Finally, Keyara cleared her throat and set down the teacup. Standing up, she apologized, “I’m sorry if I’ve wasted your time, Lord Beckett,” before she began heading for the French doors, stopping when she heard what Beckett said next.
[[Sorry if that was a bit godmoddish, but I figured Beckett wouldn’t just let her leave without some sort of closure (if any).  ]]

As Sam heard the stumbling below her she realised the rest had followed her which made her feel slightly more comfortable. Finally the window was within reach: she firmly pushed the window further open and placed her hands on the windowsill. She tumbled over the edge and realised in shock when her world turned up side down for a moment that she wasn't alone in the room. Cursing she got on her foot and pulled out her gun, friends or no friends of Edward this went very, very wrong. "One word and ye're - " Suddenly she stopped, in shock, as she noticed whom she was aiming at: her dark hair and hazel eyes were so familiar.. Vari!

After Norrington had mounted he gave a nod and the Commodore and his two soldiers rode off in the morning light heading for the fort. It seemed almost impossible to banish his thoughts about yesterday from his head and if he had been capable of doing that he would surely have noticed that 4 pirates seemed to climb the ivy of the Applegate mansion. It was good luck for the pirates, but unfortunate for Norrington for he was about to break down if his work hadn't occupied him that much.
As he reached the Fort a man, probably a lieutenant, ran over to the arriving Commodore.
(( Does anyone feel like playing the man who has to bring the bad news to the Commodore? ))[/i]

Alex followed, glancing about her surroundings. She was not a native of Port Royal, hence nothing was familiar. But she found it useful to make herself acquainted with her surroundings for future purposes wherever she ventured. She sighed followed the progress of the man running towards the Commodore. "This ought to be interesting," she muttered under her breath.

Emma chuckled at Edward's answer, although it didn't exactly sooth her in any way. She followed him up the rest of the ivy. Suddenly she heard Sam's voice and as soon as she heard it, it was cut off. She rushed up the rest of the way to see what was wrong.
Charlotte quickly followed the others up the rest of the ivy. Although she felt like she had been pushed into the back, she also was concerned.

Carmon gave Vari another quick, concerned look before she decided to let it drop as this girl obviously wanted. "sit right here, then. It's won't take...." she stopped in shock as a strange girl suddenly entered through her bedroom window. Carmon stepped back and gave a scream that came out as more of a squeak. It wasn't that she was so scared of the intruder (although she was) it was just this girl had surprised her.

"what makes you think you've wasted my time, Ms. Pierce?" Beckett gave her an innocent, imploring look, but he remained where he was. Well, he had achieved his goal. He had avoided her questions successfully and he had been able to learn a good deal about her. Actually it wasn't a waste at all, thought Beckett, it had been quite a good way to spend his time. "can two people not take some tea and have some innocent conversation without it being called a waste of time?"

It was unfortunate for Cole that he didn't turn back to look at the Applegate house before he proceeded to follow (at a distance) the soldiers and the prisoner. If he had he probably would've spotted the four pirates making their way up the wall and into his sister's window. But he continued to follow the soldiers without a second thought until he noticed they had stopped and someone was talking to Norrington.

Ragetti sucked in his breath sharply when he heard the man speak to the Commadore of the escape. It had been found out sooner than expected. He ducked around a corner and ran pelmel to the docks, where Anamaria was waiting. She had been able to "Commondeir" a ship, and Ragetti needed no urging to tell her they needed to move, and fast.
Once the ship was out of sight of the Port Royal Docks, Ragetti did a headcount of the escaped pirates. Swallowing hard out of fear, he turned to Anamaria, "Where is my uncle?"
Anamaria's eyes grew wide, "We didn't leave him behind, did we?" She stepped forward and shouted at the crew,"Alright, men! We need to search this ship from stem to stern. Find Pintel and I'll reward ye all. If we have to turn around, woe to the one who brings me that news!" The crew scattered.
(Pintel needs to show up, or someone needs to be a crew member and tell Anamaria that they need to trurn back.)

Sam quickly aimed her gun at the blond-haired girl taking a few steps in her direction. "I swear.. one sound.." She then turned to Vari, still speechless but once she'd found her words she started to ramble: "Vari?! What on earth are ye doin' here? What did they do to ye? Why are ye dolled up like a.. a.." She threw a bewildered look at the dress and turned up her nose as if it was something disgusting. Sam stared in amazement and shock at Vari and even started to doubt whether it was her friend.

" An escape?!" Norrington repeated and he suddenly felt nauseated. His face turned as white as his wig and he walked over to the entrance of the Fort and with a wave of his hand he ordered the Lieutenant to follow. "Who was it?" he said in a voice hardly audible. _________________

Vari stood in the middle of Carmon’s room, absolutely speechless. “Sam! It’s been far too long,” she smiled, taking in the sight of her long lost friend. Then she laughed upon seeing the face Sam made as she looked at the royal blue dress Vari had donned. “It’s an extremely long story and I’m afraid there’s no time to explain. This is Carmon Applegate and I’d appreciate it very much if you didn’t leave her in a bloody heap on the floor.” At this, she smirked and more pirates began coming through the window, two of which she had never seen before. Then Edward appeared and Vari’s pace quickened as she rushed over to embrace him tightly. “Edward… I thought I’d never see you again,” she breathed. “What are ye all doing here?”
Edward laughed inwardly as he took in Vari’s appearance. “Var, ye look bloody awful! But that’s not the point - all that matters is that we found ye.” He hugged her tightly before turning to Carmon. “I’m sorry if we scared ye in any way, Miss,” he apologized, still laughing.
Vari glanced over at Emma and Lotty. “I assume you’re both friends of Sam and Edward…?”

Keyara looked away, trying to smooth out an almost invisible wrinkle on her pants. She didn’t want to look at him, afraid she was going to drown in his piercing gaze. When she finally spoke, she still had not looked up. “Well, I… I suppose not, my Lord… it’s just, I assumed you had other more important matters to deal with rather than discussing such worthless things like we did. After all, you’ve got an escaped criminal and his accomplices to be utterly concerned about and then there’s the East India Company, which of course is your pride and joy in this world… and not to mention the Dead Man’s Chest… and so therefore I don’t think it’s fair to have to deal with someone such as myself in addition to all of that when you are so terribly busy already…” Finally she had stopped rambling and was dead silent, feeling extremely embarrassed. Her green eyes slowly looked up at Beckett to see just what his reaction would be.
[[LOL, you have no idea just how much fun it was to ramble on endlessly like that!

Pintel ran up after his nephew and neice-in-law, leaning over and panting heavily from the effort. "Oi! Perhaps...next time...ye could...slow down a bit...for yer old uncle, eh?" he gasped in-between deep breaths. "I's not as young as I used ter be." Straightening, he asked, "Right, are we off then?" _________________

Sam forced herself not to look at the dress but at Vari. "We were lookin' for ye.." Without noticing she stated the obvious, she put away her gun. "Sorry.. one can never be too carefull aye?" She walked over to Edward and Vari. "This is Emma, a friend of mine." Sam pointed to Emma. "Em, this is Vari." Over the head of Vari she looked at Edward intently, nodding slightly with her head to the window. She hoped he got the message: she wanted to get out of here as quick as possible..

Carmon looked back and forth between her new friend and the intruders. She gave Sam an offended, frightened look when she pointed the gun at her and mocked what she had tried to do with Vari. It wasn't disgusting or bad of her to doll Vari up a little, she thought. Carmon was pleased when Vari put in a word for her to stop the girl she called Sam, but on the outside Carmon's face remained as it had been: confused and rather frightened. Another relief came when she heard Edward's voice. She smiled at him. At last someone she knew "no, not at all." it was an obvious lie but what else was she to say? "Edward, did you come here for Cole?"
(is it ok that Carmon and Edward do know each other a little?)

Emma stared at the reunion. But after a short time, she couldn't help but scan the room. It was a nice, bright room, but far too English and far too uncomfortable. And now they had been seen by one of the actual Applegates? To her that seemed to be bad news. Her brow furrowed, but she forced dark thoughts away when she heard Sam addressing Vari and introducing them. "'Ello, Vari." she gave a quick nod of recognition.
Charlotte, as well, had been taking in the scene. But she had noticed how happy Edward and Vari had looked when they met again, she also had noticed the way the other girl, Carmon, had looked. She looked pleasant enough. Not like the snobs Lotty had me in the past. She began to think and wonder about Carmon and her relation, Cole. She shook herself from that and gave Vari a smile. "I'm Lotty. I came here with Edward to help find you."

the man trialed along behind the Commodore. "Well, sir, it was two of those pirates you had put in here the same day as Sparrow. A heavy set one and one with a wooden eye. We aren't exactly sure how they got out though, sir."

Cole heard the Commodore's exclamation. This was another alarming turn of events and it made him feel even worse about sneaking behind the Commodore's back. So much else had gone wrong was it really fair to lie and sneak and maybe do even worse damage? Cole was almost ready to go back home, but for some reason he couldn't. Maybe curiosity had gotten the better of him for once.

Will was finally out of the side streets and onto the main road. It hadn't taken him long, although under the eyes of the people in the streets it had seemed longer. He was just passing by the fort when he noticed a whole troop of soldiers and James Norrington talking to a lieutenants almost directly in front of him. Will stopped.

During the silence, Beckett's face remained almost the same as it had been. Smooth, calm and collected. Although perhaps there was a hint of several other emotions somewhere deep inside. "more important matters?" he seemed to be thinking it over. "not at all, Ms. Pierce. Jack Sparrow will be dealt with when the time comes, he is of no further concern as of now. And the Company is in perfect running condition at the moment, if it wasn't do you think I would've never begun conversing?" But Beckett failed to comment on the Dead Man's Chest or what his thoughts were on it. He figured it best if it come up as little as possible between him and her. "so you see, I'm hardly as busy as you make me out to be. Not at this moment in time, at least." he kept his eyes on her as he sat back down in his chair.

Edward glanced lazily over at Carmon. To tell the truth, this was the first time he had noticed her since they got here. This had certainly been a morning full of chaos and close-calls. “Ah, Carmon, long time no see. Aye, we were lookin’ for Cole too… he was supposed to meet me, er… us here a bit earlier, but he’s nowhere to be found. Would ye happen to know where he’s gotten to?”
“Nice to meet you, Em, Lotty. Well, I suppose I’m found now,” Vari smiled at the group. “But why were you lookin’ for me in the first place?” She eyed them carefully. “Anyway, I’m afraid all of you have chosen to be here at the wrong time… you see, we’re trying to fool Carmon’s parents into thinking that I came here a few years ago with my family from London. And if they find out that any of you are here and that I’m not who I’m pretendin’ to be, we’ve basically set ourselves up for the gallows, savvy?” Then she turned to Carmon. “Is there any place where they could hide until it’s safe to come out?”

Keyara still did not move but watched him intently, afraid to do anything - even speak. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but then closed it again, figuring whatever that came out would probably be useless anyway. No matter how much he tried to convince her, Keyara still felt as if she was only being a nuisance and wondered if things would have been better if she stayed in her cabin aboard the ship. Then she slowly took in Beckett’s words. How someone could have so much control over such matters and not be concerned in the least was rather fascinating. “Well, I think I’d best be going since it seems we’ve run out of things to talk about…” She knew this was an utter lie, but this silence was rather unnerving and not comfortable in the least.

Sam watched Vari, Carmon and then Edward and frowned on Vari's reply. "Why on earth would ye dress up like a lady for that?" She was still utterly confused because of her friend's behaviour. "And the last place I'm goin' to hide is here." Realising that her words might offend Carmon, Sam quickly expressed her thoughts before anyone else had the oppurtunity to intervene. "Listen.. I've been lookin' for ye because I need a ship. To get out of this place. I thought that together we could succeed but perhaps I was wrong..?"

"How could this happen?" the Commodore repeated again, his voice trembled with anger. "They have to be caught. Send your men in troops and let them search every inch of Port Royal."
This was a disaster, how could he explain this to his superiors. Eventually the rumor would spread that he'd let
again two pirates slip through his fingers. When he noticed the lieutenant's slow reaction he shouted: "Where are you waitong for man? Lock this pirate up and send out all your men! NOW!"
Norrington suddenly felt watched and as he turned around the cause of all his problems stood right in front of him: Turner.
