Elizabeth gave Jack a look of utter amazement that morphed to disgust and eventually wry amusement. She got herself awkwardly out of the carriage and fell against Will, too weak to stand. "Honestly..." she murmured. "I'm the one who had a baby." _________________

Will's face was shocked at Jack fainted. "What's wrong with him?" he asked with a confused look.
As Elizabeth suddenly stepped out of the carriage, Will caught her, but quickly pushed her back inside. "NO! Elizabeth, stay inside of the carriage. I will drive the carriage back home. You are in no condition to be walking around!" He then shut the carriage door and tied his horse alongside the carriage. Propping himself up in the drivers seat, he then headed off toward their home which was only about three minutes away.

Elizabeth leaned weakly against the side of the carriage, fighting sleep. She smiled at the baby - "What to call you, then..."

Time had passed and Will drove up carefully in front of the small wooden cottage. The carriage came to a soft halt and Will jumped off.
Opening the door of the carriage, Will looked to Jack, who was still unconscious. Shaking his head, he then covered Elizabeth's imodest form with her large dress. "Here, grab ahold of my shoulder and I will help you down."

Elizabeth unsteadily clung to his shoulder, one arm still wrapped tight around her baby, who had been sleeping and now woke up and began to cry. "What...what shall we name him, Will?" she murmured, tired herself.

As Elizabeth exited the carriage and next to Will's side, was the first time that Will actaully looked at his child. His eyes stared in amazement at his small face and hands. How could this be his and Elizabeth's? The child was perfect in Will's mind. How was he worthy to be father? "I....I...don't know, Elizabeth," he mummbled. He seemed to be at a loss for words.
Feeling the night air pinch at his nose and face, he shivered and quickly helped Elizabeth inside the house. "It's much too cold outside. Please go rest in bed," he said as they began to walk toward the bedroom.

Meanwhile, in the carriage, Jack's body was limp and dead. His sea-legs were wrapped in a tangled mess, his hands curled up by his sides, and his neck crooked on the side of the interior.

"Elizabeth, I will...but first I must see that you and the baby are comfortable," Will said with a concerned look.
Entering the bedroom and then helping Elizabeth on the bed, Will backed away and stared at the two. It was such a wonderful picture....timeless....something he would cherish all his life.

Will smiled and stared at the face of his child and happy wife, "Actually Elizabeth, I hoping to call him----" Suddenly, Will's face changed as he gasped, "Oh bloody! I forgot Jack in the carriage!"
Darting out of the bedroom and through the front door, he approached the carriage and opened the door. Stepping inside, he began to slap Jack's face, "Jack! Wake up, man! Jack!"

In a matter of moments-and a few good slaps, Jack's eyes snapped open.
He sat up with a pouting face when-
SMACK!
Jack had whacked a good slap of his own right across William's face. "And ye.." He started as he leaned right into Will's breathing space, "...deserved that."

"Awww!" Will yelped as he fell back into the carriage seat. With his hand on his cheek, he said in a confused manner, "What was that for?" He eyed Jack up and down.

Jack reached down, and plopped his hat back onto his head, "For not bein' there while I 'ad the baby..." he said in a slurred drunken voice before crashing out of the carriage and onto the street.
