Nessa watched Alex, bemused but intrigued. She berated herself inwardly for not noticing he had not been entirely healthy, and resolved to remedy that, refusing point-blank to believe, even of herself, that there was any reason for this desire other than to have their small band as healthy as possible. "Yes, Mark," she said hurriedly, "That looked frightening! Are you okay?"

Lee looked outside as the wind began to pick up and the ground shook below them. She looked around worriedly and asked, "What in the bloody heck was that?"

Jimmy was still laying on the ground when he let out the loudest yell, followed by more of his continuous swearing.
Suddenly, out of the top of his pants, scurried an unnaturally huge spider. It was black like the others, but with red pinchers and a stinger at the end of the bloated body.
"Ow, ow ow ow.." Jimmy repeated silently to himself. Apparently the spider had punctured his backside with it's pinchers...

Black spiders were scattering everywhere like ants on an ant hill. They scurried under rocks, into bushes and up into trees.
Mark wiped away the tears and looked up at Alex. "Yeah.......I think I'm ok..." he stood up slowly and winced as his wrist cracked.
"Uh, I think I got bit in my leg...." he said as he tried to look behind himself.

((Wow.. you guys posted alot.. I'll just try to jump in.. Imagine I was just busy here and there, helping you  ))
Chris turned Jimmy as he let out a loud cry. "Dude.. you look like you need some caffeine and an asparin.. Are you okay?" he offered his arm in order to help him up. _________________

"Here, hold still," Alex commanded, eyeing the bloated black spider on Jimmy's backside. He narrowed his eyes, perfecting his aim.
The stick came down, whacking Jimmy solidly on the butt and missing the spider by a mile.
Alex shoved the stick in Chris's surprised hands and pointed a finger. "He did it!"

"AH!" He plopped his head into the dirt and screamed some more. No, Alex did not hit the spider, but he did manage to hit the bite wound the spider had planted on Jimmy's butt....jerk.

Nessa burst into hysterical laughter, no doubt brought on by the recent explosion of near-death experiences, and sat cradling her injured ankle with tears of mirth rolling down her cheeks. Eventually the laughter stopped, however, but the tears remained and as Nessa, very embarassed, attempted to stem the seemingly unending flow she sobbed, "Oh dear, I'm sorry, Jimmy..." and buried her face in her hands.

Mark hobbled his way toward Alex and Chris. "Ouch, ouch ouch, ouch..." he said over and over again....his leg was stinging from the bite mark.
"Did you get bit Jimmy?" Mark asked dumbly as he saw the large spider crawling off of his body. Apparently, Mark had not seen or comprehended what had just happened.

"I didn't do it," Alex asserted again, still pointing at Chris. As he couldn't see Jimmy's butt for the pants covering them, he had no idea of knowing how large the spider bite was. Nonetheless, he asked, "If you die, can I have your CD player?"

Jimmy muttered words under his breath that is best not to mention in this story.
He started to get up, but he couldn't. He tried again, pushing up with his arms, but ended straight back into the pile of dirt.
A sour, angry, annoyed, ticked off, irritated, sad, stifled voice from Jimmy said, "Uh...dudes...I can't feel my legs...or my butt."

"Crazy people.. " Chris mumbled while shaking his head. Then he poked Alex and said "Come on.. lets move him first from that pile of dirt and bargain about that Cd-player later.. though it will be a temporary toy for the batteries will run out eventually.."

Alex kicked Jimmy's butt helpfully, then prompted, "How about now?" He caught Chris's look and grumbled, "All right, all right. You're no fun." He grabbed Jimmy's feet and began dragging him across the dirt.
