As no one said anything outloud, Darnel leaned back in his chair and rubbed his temples.
Maybe I shouldn't have had those six pints of Ale... or was it ten? Aye... my head is throbbing... he thought. The elf, who everyone else thought was being rude, was, of course, drunk...

You don't know how much we both appreciate that. was the initial response, directed at the first statement made. Then, there was a definite hesitation, as both siblings tried vainly to remember the hunter they had just been asked about..and it hit Raina first, literally.

I remember him now, yes..we ran into him while out on an unrelated mission...and then..things went wrong.

Landen's curiousity was now peaked, although he disguised it from the outside, though his 'voice' suggested otherwise,

"Wrong? May I ask what that means? And I assume you mean both the hunter and the boy who was with him."

Yes, I meant both of them..and by wrong, I mean..wrong.

Unable to continue, Raina 'fell silent', so to speak, and Rylin continued for her.

What she means is that the two of them attacked us..or rather, the hunter did. Undoubtedly, he saw the..marks on our face, and realized what we were. I was shot in the shoulder, Raina in the side, and we had no choice but to restrain him and the boy. After that..the rest of our party showed up.

As the two were already properly restrained, the Guild thought it best to kill them then and there, to get it over with. And, it fell on us to do the deed..and do it, we did. It was either that, or be killed with them.

At this, Landen fell completely silent, and did not reply for some time, and when he did, it wasn't much to assume anything off of.

"I see... He said this with some sadness in his voice, but also some understanding.

"And... This was what, 20, 25 years ago?"

Twenty five, at least..yes. Raina responded after a moment's thought, speaking up when her brother didn't. Around the time we began trying to escape from the Guild. All the bloodshed and murder was too much to stomach any longer.

Landen nodded inwardly,

"I see... Well, I am glad you left, because if you didn't I would have good reasons to dislike you. They were my family. My father and brother." He paused, uncertain on how to continue without bursting from emotional turmoil. "But as I said, I hold nothing agaist you.

That had the most peculiar effect on both former assassins..each wore an expression of regret. Never had they met family members of those they had killed, and it was a wrenching experience, to say the least. And, for once, neither 'spoke', as there was nothing they could say that couldn't be taken wrong.

Landen took this silence as an end to their conversation, at least for now, they could take it up later. He thought about the two former assasains. Really, deep inside, he did blame assasains for the death of his father and brother, but he didn't blame these assasains. It was like they were being used as helpless puppets to do their master's will. And when he looked at their faces, and when he talked with them, he could not picture them as ruthless, heartless, selfish killers. Especially after hearing their story. And also, what about that connection that he had felt with Raina? Though it seemed quite beyond his understanding, it was still something. Landen pondered his thoughts, oblivious to anything else.

Yrudit nodded and again dipped his head in deference. "I do wish to accompany you." An awkward silence passed between them, during which his forked tongue flicked in and out his rather formidable mouth. "In the meantime... have you any wounded that need tending? My gift is healing."

"As is mine. One of them, in any case. I shall, however, keep your offer in mind - I do not hesitate to admit that I am more proficient at other things."

Silvryn turned, as if to end the audience - "I regret I have other matters to attend to. We depart for our city within a day at most. Others of the Gifted and Exalted wait there, and will be accompanying us as well."

I heard about her offer to go to the gifted and i wanted to know if I could go though I have to speak to her before I go for some personal reasons.

Penfire smiled.
"Me and her are pretty much the same person. What ever it is you need to say to her, can be said to me, and I can relay it to her."
