Wilkins kept his eyes on her, then motioned behind his back for the Redcoats to search the immediate vicinity.
Miranda heard the dialogue, then footsteps. She whispered a curse and held her breath to listen closely.

Elizabeth suddenly heard Bordon's voice. "Susan!" The sound of her horse galloping made her swear mentally and she ducked the Redcoat's grip. "BORDON, GET THEM OUT OF HERE!" She shouted to the older Dragoon captain, while avoiding the Redcoats.

Miranda heard the shouting and quickly mounted her horse. "Go!" she said. She spurred on the horse and ran toward the edge of the forest.
Wilkins tried to capture Elizabeth but she ducked. He heard hoofbeats. "After them!" he cried.

Elizabeth saw the horse with a frightened Susan on top. She moved toward the horse, but stopped as she heard a gunshot. Her left shoulder seemed to explode with pain and she couldn't help but cry out. "Lizzie!!" Susan shouted.

Miranda heard a gunshot, followed by Susan's scream "LIZZIE!"
"Elizabeth," she said quietly. She turned quickly and gave William to Nathan. "Take him and GO!" she shouted. She ran back to where she heard the gunshot. She saw a group of Redcoats and charged right through them to get to Elizabeth. She dismounted and moved the reins a certain way so that the horse would stoop down, too. "Elizabeth," she said, "Are you alright?!"

Eliazabeth looked at Susan and she ingored the pai as best as she could, and urged the mare to gallop. ((which I bet is hard while ridinhg sidesaddle..))

Miranda mounted her own horse and they rode off. "I told Nathan and Samuel to take William to the edge of the forest with them," she said.

Miranda nodded and rushed off. She caught up with the children, and they rode for a bit longer until they came across an estate. She dismounted, and a man came to meet her.
