Gawain's eyebrows rose a little, and he watched the apple core fall, but said nothing, leaning against the tree Layien sat in with practiced ease and natural grace, looking rather dashing.

Bors rolled his eyes as Layien blushed, turning away in mock disgust before turning back. "My home's where ever I make it." he said. "I don't like having roots too deep-it hurts when they get pulled up."

Bors grumbled something, trying to act gruff and hide a smile at the same time.

Layien leaped off the tree and sighed, now on the ground with everyone else. "Well now...what you all us knights like to do with our time now, eh?"

"Saxons?" Layien said, standing as she heard a loud war-cry. "Will Woads do?"

A slow smile spread over Bors face. He loosened his sword in it's sheath. "It will..."

Layien smiled and unsheathed two swords.

Bors ran for the horse line. He untied his horse and mounted quickly, drawing his sword at the same time.

Gawain strolled amiably over to his horse and took his own sweet time preparing to leave. He seemed in no hurry to knock off heads, be they Saxon or Woad.

Bors grimaced at Gawain. He was convinced the man was taking a long time just to annoy him.

Gawain winked jovially at Bors. "Little impatient there, eh?"

Giving the girth of his saddle a final tug, he swung easily up, pushing his sword out of the way where it hung in its sheath.

Bors's scowl just deepened at Gawain's comment. When the knight was finally in the saddle, Bors said, "Are you ready?"
