"It's good to see you again, as well." Allison said in reply to the first statement, then shook her head slightly. "Ah, it was so-so. Pretty boring, though."

"'Boring'?" asked Aidan, raising one eyebrow slightly. "Hardly. You didn't let up on Quidditch practice, I'd not call that boring."

Allison gave her brother an exhasperated look. "Of course, I didn't let up. It was preparing me for this year." Here, she glanced at the small gleaming badge pinned to her shirt. It was colored in red and gold, and featured two broomsticks crossed before a picture of a gleaming trophy, with a golden snitch hovering above the trophy. It was, naturally, the badge of a Quidditch Captain.

(I elaborated imagination on the badge design, since I don't remember what the one from the books looked like.)

"Well I guess a congratulations is in order." Kayden smiled, feeling very proud of her friend. "Will I need to try out again for Chaser?" She said with a teasing smile.

Here, Allison pulled a thoughtful expression. "Hmm..possibly." she said seriously, then broke the mood by grinning. "Of course not!"

Kayden gave a big sigh of relief. "Ok, good. You scare dme there for a minute." Kayden smiled, her eyes lighting up . "You don't know how much it means to me that I get to be on the team."

"Oh, I think I do know." Allison said matter-of-factly. "And this year, we're not going to finish at the bottom. This year, we're going to win the Quidditch Cup, or my name's not Allison Potter!"

"Of course we are!" Kayden said with as much enthusiasm as Allison had. "We have a really good chance of winning this year. We have a really strong team."

"What's left of the team, you mean." broke in Aidan suddenly. "Remember, three of them graduated at the end of last year."

"Don't remind me.." Allison muttered, looking out the window. "Which means we're going to have to hold try-outs."

(Thought it'd give room for some action later on, so yeah..)

As if on cue, the Seeker of the team slid the compartment door open. "Hey, people I know!" she exclaimed brightly. "Is there any room left here? Everywhere else is full. Hey, Allison - you're Quidditch captain? Awesome!"

"Oh." Kayden said, her mood falling a bit. "I forogt about that. I know there are other strong players out there though. You and I are both really strong."

"Yeah, we are.." Allison murmured, not really sounding as if she believed it. Then, as the compartment door opened and she heard Chanel's voice, she turned away from the window and smiled. "Yeah, there's room." she said, indicating the seat across from Aidan. "And yeah, it fell to me afte Wood graduated."

(I.E, Oliver Wood's son, jsyk..)

"Good," said Chanel, and slid the door shut. "Chip's not, though," she added, peering into the cat basket she carried. "I swear, I had to use a silencing charm earlier because he wouldn't shut up! So Allison, do I still get to be Seeker this year?" she finished with a grin, and sat down.

"Duh," was Chanel's supremely elegant reply. "Haven't I always? I mean, if I do say so myself, nobody else who's ever tried out is as good as I am." She put a foot on top of her cat basket as it gave a yowl.

"Mhmm." was Allison's only response to that. She let the uneasy silence extend for a moment, then said aruptly, "Yes, you're still our Seeker."
