Cat, also was not fully taken in by the idea of walking an unknown amount of miles with an unknown group of people.
Even though that, thanks to the Dark Gift, she could outrun any of them, she felt sympathy towards young Xaviera and so decided to stay behind and walk with her.

Kith was surprised as another man follwed him. So I've a fellow shape shifter friend. he thought sullenly to himself. He beat his wings a bit faster, pulling ahead of Solech. He spread his wings fully as he found an updraft. The upward spiral of wind raised him high above the ground where he could see all manner of things, and his sharp hawk eyes didn't miss anything. Of on the horizon was a band of riders. They were on horses, he could tell that, but they were still too far off to tell wether or not they were armed and dangerous. But other than that, there seemed to be a lack of living things.

Solech veered off in the opposite direction as Kith after he saw the group of riders. He surveyed the ground; hills and forests lined a valley, and jagged mountains rose in the distance. After flying around for a few more moments, Solech flew back to the valley, near the others, and shifted to his human form.

"What did you see?" Dakara asked Solech as he replanted himself on the earth's surfface.

Dakara glanced over at the other two who had begun walking briefly before turning back to Solech and waiting for an answer.

"There's a group of riders, to the southeast." Solech motioned in the direction. "They're a long ways off, though. As for the land, it looks like we're in a valley, surrounded by hills, forests, and mountains."

"Don't supose you could tell if these riders were friendly?" Dakara asked Solech, sure he already knew the answer.

"Sorry, no." Solech said. "I could fly in closer and take a look, though. Maybe our other shifter friend could tell us more, though." Solech scanned the sky for Kith.

Kith soared ahead of the others. Solech had gone down to speak with the others about the band of men on the horizon. He had let the air currents take him in closer. When he was no more than a dot in the sky to those on the ground, he saw clearly that the men he had saw were armed, and exceedingly so. that doesn't mean that they're bad. He thought to himself. Still, he stayed in the air. they were a ways from the party and it would be a while before they met.

((*hits self on the forehead* Sorry, I edited!))

"Alright." Dakara said with a thoughtfull look.

Dakara gazed into the crystal blue sea above that shimered in the air like a shining star at night. He could not even see Kith anymore.

Cat followed Dakara's stare, and smiled at him "I'd like to be able to go up there one day.."the vampire sighed wistfully, and caught up easily "But, I suppose immortality has its price."
With a low chuckle, she turned her gaze back to the ground, and shook her head "But what a fine thing it would be... Rest, at last. And no more the matter of 'hunger' and the immorality it brings with it..."

Dakara glanced over at Cat with an aknowledging nod, though didn't speak.

He was so trained in hismilitary way of mind he hadn't even thought of it that way, only what benafit it would have on the battle field.

Xaviera listened to Cat's words, and suddenly her situation didn't seem that bad. She felt sorry for the vampire, though she wondered if Cat would appreciate that or not. She tried not to let her feelings show, and also attempted to push aside her thoughts of self-pity.

She was unsuccessful with the latter.
