Alaina put a hand on the mutant's shoulder. "Sometimes being the perfect weapon is not such an envious title." she said with a sad smile. "Enemies tend to target you, and if they don't target you directly, then tend to target those you love. They promise you many things, but deliver on nothing." she said bitterly, unable to hide her contempt. "Trust me," she said more gently. "My instincts tell me that when the time is right, you will find both the strength and courage to use your powers and master them."

Alaina returned her hug. "I'm sure you have more friends than me, Alissa. You are such a sweet girl. I on the other hand tend to,uh, put others off. It was useful underground when I wanted to be left alone, but such a trait would not be adaptive here," she said with a sigh. "And besides, I know that Emma cares deeply for you as well. Anyway, I would consider it an honor to be your sister." she added with a smile.

"I would expect that at least a few more would come," Alaina replied. "And I am sure that Emma will be here soon." she added as she glanced toward the entrance of the hanger.

Emma raised an eyebrow at the twins. "You two? Something is definetly going on with Fury."
Emma stood in thought, contemplating the situation. She was not pleased with the current issues at hand. "Fine, you can hitch a ride with us. Just give me a moment to contact the Cuckoos and leave them instructions. Then we can be on our way to the Hangar"

Emma concentrated on the sisters known to everyone as the Cuckoos.
"i have to leave for Stark Enterprise for a meeting with Nick Fury. No-one other than anyone wishing to come with me, is to leave the Instute. If we do not return in one hour and you have no telepathic contact with myself. Inform Cyclops and get him to bring the team to us."

The Cuckoos all acknowledged Emma's orders simultaneously and broke contact with her.

"Let's go" Emma said abrubtly and walked off towards the Hangar Bay.

Marie and Will breathed a sigh of releif. "Thanks for letting us ride with you guys. We were scared you wouldn't let us." They followed Emma to the hanger bay where the others were waiting.

"I'm not sure why you couldn't just teleport over to Stark Tower. Would have been a lot quicker." she looked sidelong at Will, "But still, you're here now and you can keep the others company will we fly out"

Emma said no more and continued walking towards a small elevator, that was to the unsuspecting eye little more than a decoration, but to those in the know it was a way towards the basement levels of the Mansion. The unseen part of the Institute that only those with clearance ever get to see.

The door swished round in a semi-circle motion, revealing a metallic interior. Emma stepped inside and beckoned the twins in with her.

"Well, we would just teleport over," Marie replied, stepping into the elevator with Emma, "but we suspect danger and would prefer to go with more people. We are still learning to use our powers and if surprised by something might become vulnerable."

"While I appreciate your caution, there will come a time when you will have to push yourselves to your limits" Emma said, bluntly.

The elevator made a stopping motion and the door swished open to reveal the mechanical side of the Xavier Institute. A complete contrast to the decor of the main mansion building. Emma stepped outside and turned to the twins.
"I fear that time may be sooner than we all expect." Emma's words were cold but honest. "Do not let your guards down for one second"

Turning on her heels, she spun round and walked down a large metallic corridor, before stopping at a huge circular metal door. Emma walked up to a console next to it and it automatically checked her eyes to confirm she was.

" Enter Miss Frost" came the mechanical female voice from the console. The doors opened slowly, revealing a sprawling warehouse like space. There sat the Blackbird jet, dark and gleaming. Emma noticed Alaina and Alissa standing waiting.

"Only you two then?" Emma asked rhetorically "No matter, we have a couple of other companions for our journey"

Alissa nodded. "I know you said not to come, but I wanted to, I'm staying in the jet though, if its ok."

Emma sighed as she looked at Alissa.
"I didn't single you out, I just don't like taking young people into something that I can't help but feel is some sort of deception or trap. But I cannot go alone, I need you there" she paused and looked at the four youngsters "Not only for myself, but to prove something to yourselves"

Emma returned her attention back to Alissa
"If you feel more secure inside the Jet, while I attend to business in Stark Tower, that's up to you. I'd much prefer to have you all in my sight. Just incase"

Ka'l leaned against the wall, waiting for the four vans that Doctor Doom had ordered to be sent here. He wore his typical grey overcoat over his metallic armour. Finally, as the four black vans screeched to a halt inside the warehouse, Ka'l got up and ordered his squads to pile into them. Ka'l and one squad squeezed into one van. Bullseye and the other squad in another. The Green Goblin, Magneto, Mystique, and the third squad went inside the third and the fourth one was reserved for Juggernaut and Rhino.

After an hour drive, they reached the Stark Tower in the heart of Manhattan. Actually an alley about a block away. One of the soldiers lifted the sewer grate, allowing the team to enter into the subway. Mystique was dropped off at Stark Tower, impersonating as one of the many workers. She waited until the conference was well under way to set the fire alarms.

Alissa nodded. "Ok, I'll join you then. But is it ok, if I don't use my powers until at all."

((Caunion, I was thinking, maybe Ka'l could be especially intrested in Alissa and her history.))

"Hopefully" Emma replied somewhat warmly "We may not need to use our powers at all. But if something happens, or we're required to move out straight away. Then you will be required to use them. If you don't, you will perish" Emma paused again, looking deep into the concerned young girls face "I quite frankly will not allow that to happen. Not again"

Emma turned and walked towards the Jet
"Never again" she thought to herself, thinking back to her days training the Hellions and Generation X.

"Come" she said, her usual confidence returning "Let's get this over with"
