((I thought the night of the attack and Norries' promotion were the same?... Maybe I am completely off balance...))
Elizabeth went down the stairs and out of the corridor that lead to the final staircase, which would take her to the ground level of her home. Upon reaching the top, she looked down to see her father - but he was not alone. A quick, sharp intake of surprised breath was taken, and Elizabeth had to remind herself of outer composure. She saw the blacksmith - Will - also regain his as she came into view, but she disagreed with herself mentally. I am just another girl to him, nothing special, so start acting like it, Elizabeth, and stop fooling yourself!, she scolded herself harshly as she made her way down the stairs. She had known Will for most of her life, after her fathers' ship had found Will so long ago. She touched her neck slightly, her fingers caressing the chain that hung down from it - a necklace that connected them more than either of them knew.
"Will!" She exclaimed, allowing a smile to form upon her face. "It is so good to see you! I had a dream about you last night..." She let the fact hang in the air, surprised her lips had traveled so far so quickly. She allowed no blush to appear on her cheeks however, as she came and stood by her father, across from Mr. Turner.
~~~~~~~~
"Dam*n, the pebbles ran out!" Fyde complained quietly, and then a thought entered his head, How did I get those pebbles? He shook his head sadly as he could not remember and decided instead of wallowing in self pity like he had done as of late, he would go and converse with his fellow shipmates; mights as well, especially as he felt that by tonight they would have no time for conversing - Barbossa had a plan up his sleeve, and Fyde would bet it was not a clean on. He swung down from the ropes and landed on the decks' wood softly, the metal on him making loud clinking sounds to accopany the motion. He walked over to one of his closer "friends", you could say - a lass named Andrea. She wore the same expression that he did only a few moments earlier - that of a bothered, curse soul.
"Andrea, love, how fair the winds with you today?" He asked as he came up to stand beside her, not looking at her, but at the sea.
((Lothy, I hope this is alright (if our charries are friends)! If not, I'll go back and edited!))
If the new voice and body stepping out of the shadows in the small cabin had shocked Aurora she didn't show it. Instead she returned the mischievous albeit knowing smirk when the blonde pirate made his way to stand behind Dante.
"Soren, what a pleasure it is to see you this night." She decided to ignore his previous comment and instead elected to tilt her tri-corner hat in gesture instead of some of the other gestures she had had in mind.
Dante just laughed at the banter between Soren and Aurora-Rose as his own hand raised and laid against Soren's own for a brief moment before dropping to his lap once more. The words were like music to his ears. He never was truly at peace unless the ones he truly cared for were in some kind of verbal attack.
"Play nice you two."
"You're telling me to be nice. Why don't ye tell him that! He is the one gallivanting around and degrading my intelligence. Well I simply object to such scrutiny. I'll have ye know I have a lot of common sense. I just choose not to use it, savvy." Aurora grinned as she leaned back in the chair, one elbow resting on the table beside her to keep balance.
[Of course Tur! That's absolutely fine. I'm going to post Andrea's response then hop to the morning so we are all on the right page, so to speak.]
Andrea's eyes glanced to her side to where her friend was standing.
"They fair as they always do Fyde, except each day they grow a little stronger and I grow a little more weary." She replied. She glanced up at the helm quickly before turning on her heel and almost like a ghost, she glided away and below deck to her small but private cabin. She never liked staying out once the moon rose. _____________
Captain Jack Sparrow stood atop his boat with pride. There was one small think however, his boat was sinking. The docks of Port Royal were close, he hoped he could reach them before he had to start swimming. Deftly he leaped down from his place atop the mast, grabbed a bucket and started scooping out the in-coming water. He glanced up and stopped as his eyes fell upon the hanging skeletons on ex-pirates. He stood up straight, removed his hat in a respectful way and saluted them, before abandoning his bucket to climb back up onto the mast. His small boat came to a stop just beside one the the jetty's and he skillfully stepped onto and began walking.
"'Excuse me!" Came a voice from behind him. He spun around and came face to face with the plump harbour master. "It's a shilling to tie your boat up at the dock, and I'll need your name."
Jack looked to the mast that poked out of the water then back to the harbour master, before reaching into his pocket.
"What do you say to three shillings and we forget the name." He spoke with his usual charm, placing three silver coins onto the gentleman's open record book.
"Welcome to Port Royal Mr. Smith." The man replied, closing the book with a sly smile. Jack then bowed whilst holding his hands together in thanks before swaggering off down the jetty. He glanced behind him quickly before picking the man's coin purse off of a podium, jangling it and then pocketing it.
"Old? Ye should get more excersises!" Sam said dryly and she poked Edward playfully between the ribbs as he was trying to regain his breath. Suddenly Vari's voice was to be heard and Ed immediately sprinted off to trace its source, this time leaving Sam behind. "Old.. " Sam muttered to herself before following her crewmate who'd found their Captain a few blocks further, drunk as a skunk. A lady was standing next to her, or in fact she almost seemed to carry her and Sam watched the scene with raised eyebrows. A woman of high rank wandering alone in the streets of Port Royal on foot? And she was actually helping Varianna, who couldn't possibly look less pirate-like? Something was not right..
Glancing for a moment at Edward, Sam decided to speak, which she also would have done without his permission, and play the game along with the strange woman.
"How could we ever thank you?" she started. "All kinds of things could have happened to her.. she could even have been robbed by pirates or worse!"
Now Sam did not look like a missus or a maid at all with her long coat, high boots, trousers and her pockets jingling with gold. She grinned like a cheshire cat and added: "I've heard alot of pirates wander around these alleys at night.."
--------------------------------------
Will overwhelmed by Elizabeth's beauty and her direct manner of speaking did not know what to say at her remark. "A dream about me Miss Swan?" he asked politely, wondering how he could ever be noticed by her as him just an ordinairy blacksmith's apprentice. He had dreamt alot of her but he never dared to hope that she would think highly of him. "I hope it was not a nightmare?"
Early the next morning Cole, Carmon and their mother sat around the table breakfasting. Mr. Jansen had long since gone out to help prepare for the day’s big ceremony. Carmon was chattering like a canary, barely stopping to take a bite of food or a drink of her tea. Cole had gulped down his food in a hurry and put his nose back in his book despite a firm glare from his mother and having to hear how it was rude to read when others were in the room.
“They’re saying the Captain… I mean, the Commodore might propose to Miss Swann today,” Carmon gushed, “oh, wouldn’t it be a smart match?” she went on prattling like a little child. Cole noticed that whereas reading in public was deemed impolite evidently their mother had never heard that senseless babble was also impolite. Shortly, Mrs. Jansen got up and left the room to give orders to the servants and otherwise prepare herself for the day. Cole lifted his eyes from the page and pleadingly watched as his mother left him alone in the room with Carmon. Now Carmon’s sole attention was given to him. Now he couldn’t very well ignore her and go back to his book. No, he would have to do the gentlemanly thing and sit and listen to her. “And Lieutenant Gillette will be there too,” there it was. Cole had been waiting for her to mention him and finally she had. It was about time. In fact, it had taken her longer this morning to mention him than it had yesterday morning. It was a record. She continued, “Oh, you should hear him talk of the Commodore. He’s very proud of him. They have gone through so much together and both are such good men. If I was Miss Swann I would be honored to have one of them doting on me,” a flush came to her cheeks and Cole rolled his eyes. “Cole,” she looked at him, turning a bit more solemn, “do you think Lieutenant Gillette…” she stopped and looked down into her practically untouched cup of tea - her face darkening. Cole sighed and set the book down on the table. During this surprisingly long silence Cole was about to say something - though he knew not what to say in reply to her horrifying train of thought - when Carmon again started talking, "I know you might think it's foolish but he is so wonderful." the stars returned to her eyes and Cole audibly groaned.
[[Lovin' that Carmon post ye have there, PD. ]]
“Drunk?” Varianna repeated, as if she had never heard the word before. “I… I am not drunk; a tad tipsy, perhaps, but drunk…” She laughed at the ridiculous thought - herself, Captain Varianna Korinda Degaldo Pierce, drunk? “Ha! Not drunk… that is the most nonsensical thing I’ve heard since, salted pork… oi, you there - wanna hear a secret? I’m not drunk!” A bright smile crossed Vari’s face as she spotted Sam and Ed standing not two feet away and she tried to leap to her feet to greet them, but ended up falling against Guinevere again.
Edward could hardly suppress his laughter upon seeing their inebriated captain bumbling about like a child who had not learnt to walk yet. “What a sight this is!” He chuckled, wrapping an arm around Vari’s waist and hoisting her up onto her feet. Turning his attention momentarily to Guin he spoke; “We cannot thank you enough, Miss…?” He said, leaving the sentence hanging for some indication as to her last name.
Waltzing down the street came Mort Kolman, his pet ferret Dejan curled up upon his shoulder. He bit deep into a green apple as he approached the small group, coins jingling in his pockets. “Shouldn’t ask me to keep an eye on her,” he mumbled between bites. “Think I let her have one too many… she’s quite good at Poker though,” the blue-eyed man smiled.
--------------------------------------
Soren leapt over the back of the couch and took a seat next to his best friend in front of the fire. “Y’know A-Rose, common sense certainly comes in handy. Perhaps you should rethink some of your choices, mate; like the ones involving Gabriel.” He raised an eyebrow at her daringly. He did not trust Gabriel in the least… no more than he did Elijah. As a matter of fact, he didn’t truly trust anyone aside from the man sitting next to him. “And as for you… you didn’t exactly ‘play nice’ last night,” Soren laughed, punching Dante in the arm. He positioned his other hand carefully so that the angry red marks on his neck would be hidden from Aurora’s eyes.
[:lol: love the suggestion Ara]
Good thing that Aurora-Rose had forgone taking any of the rum that she knew was hiding over somewhere next to Dante otherwise she would have coughed and spit everything onto the floor.
The audacity of Soren to say such things about what he knew nothing about. In her eyes their playful banter had turned a bit ugly. Dark eyes sparkled through the shadows of that hat, lips thinned and a soft growl passed through her throat.
"I'll choose what I want to choose and play how I want to play. You will not tell me what to do Soren, no matter how important you are to Dante." She was closer to Dante than Soren, but she had gotten to know the man over the years and tolerated him.
What peeved her the most was that Soren was right. In all honesty she knew what she was doing was not smart at all, she should just let Gabriel go the moment he decided not to join her into the world of piracy those many years ago, but she couldn't. Just as it seemed he couldn't either.
Luckily her thoughts were pulled from the depths when she heard Soren saying something to Dante about playing.
"I didn't hear you say it wasn't nice last night. In fact, repeatedly I heard quite the opposite." Dante smirked, nudging the man beside him with his shoulder before reaching beside him and pulling out the bottle of half-drunken Rum.
Aurora's eyes moved from the Rum to Dante and then to Soren who was seemingly hiding somethign on his neck.
"Oi, let me see." Jumping up she charged towards the men on the seat and pounced on them, grasping Soren's wrist and pulling it away so she could see the marks.
This was going to be a long night...
(Okay, I’m going to make this post set in the morning too! )
“You are most definitely drunk,” Guin reproved Varianna, amused by her protests. “Look at the state of you.” She hoisted Vari up again to stop her from falling over. “You should know far better than to be blind drunk at this time in the morning.” Raising her head, Guin observed Sam and Edward with a small smile. “Oh, indeed,” she replied to Sam’s comment. She wasn’t going to reveal herself as a pirate to this obvious gang of them, until she was absolutely sure that it would be safe. For now, politeness and smiles would suffice. “I am only glad to have stepped in for her. I believe this day is Commodore Norrington’s promotional ceremony. She could have been in someone’s way.” The last thing she cared about was some daft ceremony full of powdered wigs and pomp, but well-to-do ladies cared about this type of thing. “Elliot,” she replied to Edward’s query. “Miss Elliot.” She glanced at Mort as he walked over to join them and nodded her head. There was a pause as she looked at the group of people. Her brain was ticking fast, although from the outside she looked only mildly curious. Pirates never stayed too long in Port Royal. There was sure to be a ship they knew of. And if that was so… then they could help her. Guin didn’t intend to hang about here too long. This could be her only chance. But to declare herself one of them, in the full light of day? Better to turn the situation round on them first. A pirate never hands in another pirate. “I’ve heard Port Royal is having some trouble,” she said. “With pirates. Terrible, that.” She raised one eyebrow and smiled. “Myself, I’m not concerned much with such trivialities. Lucky I came along to help your friend and not some redcoat.” Her voice was still soft and friendly, and held no threat in it; indeed, there was none implicated. She let go of Vari, letting her slump against Edward instead. Inclining her head, she stepped back. “Your friend needs rest. Quite a bit of it, I would say,” she said. “I would give her a spiced pomander and some hot lemon tea.”
Sam's grin broadened, amused by the little display. She didn't react to Vari's protests, having enough experience with her being drunk she knew that she was far from any reasonable state of being.
"A ceremony?" The redhead's smile remained on her face as she replied to this piece of news which the lady shared but in her voice a harsh tone to be heard. "Good for him." She glared again at Miss Elliot, still suspecting her motives to help their Captain. Ignoring the suggestion about pirates Sam called over to Edward: "Do ye hear that Ed? Spiced pomander and lemon tea, have we got that?" The sarcasm in her voice was obvious but like Miss Elliot, her smile remained. "Thanks again missy." But as she planned to leave, she realised that they had more company.
------------------------
"Kolman? Kolman!" Liam lazily walked over to the dark-haired man and his pet ferret. "If been lookin' for you everywhere" he started "I had some troubles at the pub and I was wonderin'..-" At that moment Liam noticed that Mort had approached a group of strangers in the middle of the street, one lady and three obvious pirates. With his dark, but not unfriendly, eyes he boldly took in every feature of the lady and grinned: "Well well, what have we got here?"
((Okay, Lothy! I'll do the same!))
Fyde nodded to his companions reply, completely understand what she was feeling. He turned his face to tell her so, but she was gone, as if she was a ghost that was never there to begin with. He looked around and then noticed as a few parts of the deck would slowly grow brighter, coming towards him. He looked up at the sky and saw the moon escaping from the clouds grasps to shine her pale light, and not only reveal what was hidden in the shadows, but what the curse had really done to pirates like Fyde.
He looked down and watched as his flesh was instantly washed away, fading away with the shadows until morning would come again. Bones, pale, aglow against the dark waters, shown and Fyde sighed. The rips in his clothes were even more apparent now that his body and skin was gone. He grabbed a rope on the edge of the ship and began to climb, watching as his fingers still did his bidding, even though he looked as if he should never move again. He climbed up to the Crow's Nest, his personal bed-spot, and climbed in, leaning against the wood and stretching his legs out.
With a heavy sigh, he closed his eyes; whether he truly slept or not remained a mystery to him, but when he opened his eyes again, the sun's warm gaze burned against his skin, blinding him for a moment. He stood and looked out into the sea, stretching. Another day in cursed paradise, he thought with a smirk as he waited for any orders to help past the time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elizabeth smirked as she thought, The only nightmare I have is the one I'm living in...the one without you. She quickly erased her features that could have revealed her inner thoughts and put back on a warm smile, which she meant. "Oh course not, Will! It was a dream about when we first met, do you remember?" She paused for a second, hoping and knowing he would. I'll make sure to remind him that my name is Elizabeth before we leave for the ceremony. She decided. He only distances us farther by such proper politeness - is that what he wants to do?
Elizabeth did not want to know the answer to that question.

“Thank you again, Miss Elliot,” Edward nodded respectfully.
“Riiiiiggghhhhht,” Varianna laughed, having absolutely no clue what she was talking about. But she couldn’t let them know that… couldn’t let them think she was drunk - because, because it was a secret! And a well kept one at that. She laughed madly; they would never know… never know she was drunk.
Edward only shook his head at her odd behavior and began walking with Vari back towards the inn they were staying at; a tavern owned by one of Ed’s longtime family friends. It was without doubt, the safest place in Port Royal at the moment. And so naturally it came as a surprise to the emerald-eyed man when, upon turning a corner, he found the outside of the inn swarming with Redcoats. Oh God, what are we going to do…? Quickly he clamped a hand over Vari’s mouth and ducked behind a stack of barrels and crates as more soldiers rushed by, ignoring her muffled protests.
They were headed towards the area Vari and Edward had left; the area occupied by three pirates and a lady, who would no doubt be hanged as well if she was discovered associating with them. Edward’s mind raced, his pace quickening as panic set in.
--------------------------------------
Mort tilted his head dramatically sideways, ignoring all comments directed towards him. “Shush! I… I think I ‘ear somethin’… could be the wind… could just be in my head. Sounds like soldiers with bayonets held high… yes, Dejan hears it too,” Mort mumbled, the ferret upon his shoulder suddenly perking up. It was obvious that people were headed towards them, and Mort did not want to stick around. Without warning he ran, twisting through the streets, past buildings and people who were on their way to the early morning church sermons or whatever it was they did. Odd looks were cast his way but Mort did not notice as he ducked behind a tree (still in plain view of everyone and everything) with pistol drawn.
[[He he, Mort isn’t sane in AT ALL. Thus, random events ensue wherever he goes. XD ]]
--------------------------------------
[[I knew you would, Pan ]]
Soren did not resist as Aurora tore his wrist away and was essentially straddling his waist as she inspected the marks. His gaze shifted to Dante who smirked knowingly and Soren rolled his eyes at the raven-haired man before turning back to the honey auburn woman. “Well then, if you’re so interested, A-Rose, perhaps we’d be better off inviting you in next time. Might be interesting to have an audience.” Soren’s eyes met her dark ones, the ends of his lips curling slightly upwards. “What say you to that, Miss Curiosity?”

Guin watched Sam’s response with a smile, not in the least insulted by the woman’s tone. Indeed, if anything, she was simply amused. “Oh, you’re very welcome,” she said. Her eyebrows raised as another man approached the group, and boldly ran his gaze over Guin. She was not the type of woman who would blush and simper at such an occurrence; she met his gaze as fearlessly as he, unflinchingly, as a pirate looks at another pirate. “‘What you have here’ is Guinevere Elliot,” she addressed him. “I would warn you to be careful of the liberties you take with your gaze, sir.” She nodded her head to Edward as he addressed her and stepped back a little. Her attention was already turned elsewhere. She had already heard it; redcoats approaching. Swiftly, she turned. She roughly pushed Liam out of the way for his own safety so that he stumbled to the other side of the road where there was a wall he could dart behind and hide, and then Sam. "Stay there. I will take care of the redocats." Guin stayed exactly where she was, standing still as most of the others moved away from the area. It seemed it was down to her to protect these people, or all their necks would be on the line.
The soldiers were coming straight over to her, their bayonets held aloft. She held her head high and dipped the tiniest of curtsies. The redcoats looked thoroughly confused; they had been informed of pirates inhabiting this area, but all they found here was a noble woman with red hair, smiling at them so sweetly. “Madam, we would ask you to step aside,” said their commanding officer, stepping forward. “We are on the lookout for a group of dangerous pirates. Criminals, ma’am.” Looking exquisitely confused, Guin shook her head. “Why, I’ve seen no suchlike people around here, sir,” she said, her eyes very round and honest. “Oh.” The officer looked discomforted. “Are you very sure, madam?” “Quite sure.” “Very well…” he nodded his head and took a step backwards. “Men, at ease.” “I think they must have gone over there.” Guin pointed in the opposite direction everyone had gone. The officer nodded. “We’re very grateful, madam.” He made a bow and directed his men towards the area she had pointed them to, taking them away from the pirates; with one swift move Guin had removed her new acquaintances from danger. She watched the soldiers go and stood where she was.

Aurora-Rose studied the marks. Oh, she knew what they were alright, she had given her fair share to many throughout her days in Tortuga and on the seas. Something she would never tell Gabriel of course.
Not that he cared. She grunted to herself at the thoughts before turning her attention back to the men in front of her... well actually beneath her as her legs sprawled out over them.
"Soren!" Dante gasped at his words but laughed all the same. It would indeed be interesting to have an audience such as Aurora. She never would be able to stay still and quiet, he could only imagine what she would do in such a situation.
"I agree, care to join in the festivities? A bottle of rum shall be yer boon?"
"Alright blondie, I'll take your offer." She flicked his nose before hopping off, but not before taking the bottle of rum from Dante's hands and taking a big swig.
