Evelyn shook her head. "She's only eleven - who knows what the witch will do to her? And Edmund, too...I mean, I'm responsible for her! I should've watched her more carefully...done <i>something</i>, for heaven's sake!"

Peter sighed. "There's nothing that can be done now, though..their only chance is if we get to Aslan fast enough." He knew that wasn't the right thing to say, but right then..he didn't know what else to say.

Evelyn shook her head. "All I know is that when I get to him, I'm...." she sighed, too tense to get out a single sentance without her voice shaking. "I only hope he can help us...and we need to get to him as quickly as possible."

"Agreed.." Peter murmured, looking at the others. "Once they wake up, we need to get moving again.."

Evelyn nodded her head, and rested her chin on her knees. Most of the time she was proud of handling everything by herself, of being so strong, of being the one everyone leans on and the one who leans on no one....yet a part of her was tired of it. She picked up a twig moistened by the snow, broke it in two (the dampness prevented any sound,) and threw it.

Peter watched her silently for a moment, before sighing quietly and standing up and walking away from the campsite to just think for a little while..

Evelyn looked as he got up, and as he left, she lay back down on her side and tried to doze off....

"If..." said Tumnus. Edmund looked up. "If you're not going to eat that..." he said. Edmund took it and edged toward him. "I'd get up," said Tumnus, "But my legs..." he reached for the food Edmund handed him. He suddenly looked at the girl. "Felicity?!" he asked. "What're you doing here?!"

Felicity's expression brightened considerably. "Mr. Tumnus!" she said, then sighed, hearing the question. "I followed him and got myself caught.." she said softly.

Tumnus looked at the boy. "What's left of him." He studied the boy. "You're Lucy Pevensie's brother."

"I'm Edmund," said Edmund.

"Yes, yes. You have the same nose."

Felicity sighed and started to say something else, before the main door leading to the cells banged open, and the White Witch walked in, then walked over to Edmund. "My wolves tore that dam apart, your little family was nowhere to be found." she said, then grabbed Edmund by the collar and lifted him off the ground easily. "Where are they?!" she then demanded, glaring balefully at Edmund.

"Then you are of no more use to me." Jadis said shortly, before raising her wand and preparing to strike Edmund with it.

Tumnus looked up.

Jadis lowered her wand immediately, looking stunned. "Aslan?" she asked after a moment, sounding slightly shaken. "Where?"

"Er - he's a stranger here, Your Majesty," said Mr. Tumnus, trying to cover up. He can't be expected to know anything!"
