((Okay, I'm really, really, really sorry for not posting! This week has been utter chaos and I've been really overwhelmed by excessive amounts of homework and...yeah. Thank goodness for weekends *writes a long post to make up for it*))

Bail turned off the holovision in disgust and rubbed his forehead wearily before looking back down at the seemingly endless stack of datapads before him. He'd already been falling behind in his work when one of the palace's nursemaids had showed up at his office door with a crying Leia in her arms, helplessly informing him that the infant simply could not be placated. Within moments of being placed in his arms, though, Leia had calmed considerably and had even started cooing happily when she discovered that one of the buttons on his vest could be easily grasped in her tiny hand. Since Breha was off-planet for the week and Leia was clearly far more content there in his arms, there she had remained for the past hour, only recently having been placed carefully on a nest of pillows to sleep while Bail attempted to finish reviewing reports on the latest senate proceedings. Glancing over at the peacefully sleeping infant, Bail marveled at how something so small and innocent could be the offspring of the man who had started the very events now being discussed on IHV, and how the fate of the fate of the galaxy could very well be resting in the hands of this sleeping baby girl and her hidden twin brother. He sighed and shook his head, turning his attention back to the datapad he'd accessed. As stimulating as deep theological thinking could be, it wasn't making the stacks of datapads grow any shorter, nor did it have any place in Imperial proceedings.
He had just begun to read a report on Palpatine's new policies for taxation when Leia abruptly woke and began wailing again. Setting down the datapad reluctantly, Bail went over and cradled his adopted daughter, attempting to calm her as he had done earlier. This time, however, Leia showed no intention of stopping and proceeded to grow even louder. As he gently rocked her back and forth and whispered soothing words to the infant, Bail wondered if perhaps her seemingly random outbursts had anything to do with being Force-sensitive. He'd have to ask Eljaraj about that later...
In the middle of the whole ordeal, someone knocked at the door. Thinking it was most likely a servant or an aide, Bail called out, "One moment!" as he continued his futile attempts to calm Leia. After several minutes, though, it became evident that she was going to stop on her own terms and not a moment sooner. Carefully balancing Leia in one of his arms, Bail made his way over to the door and accessed the control panel with his free hand. The door slid open to reveal not a servant, but a Jedi. "Eljaraj," he said breathlessly, motioning for her to come in.

Eljaraj walked into the room, and she glanced at the wailing Leia. The infant reminded her quite a bit about her deceased cousin, and a smile graced her lips momentarily. It faded, and she became serious again as she turned to Bail.

"I have pressing matters to bring....A ship, an X-Wing by the looks of it, is heading right toward the palace at too fast of a speed to just be landing, which I may think be because of a malfunction. As I was walking here, I saw an A-Wing, trying to slow it down, and I'm guessing it succeded, but I fear for the pilot in the X-Wing...the presence is very familar.." she said softly, looking at him.
