Upon instinct, Vari’s hand reached for her pistol, ready to put some fine holes in their heads if need be. But as the figures approached and the soft female voice greeted them, it was clear they intended no harm. However, that did not stop Vari from tensing up as her eyes fell on the gent at Lucette’s side and she only gripped the gun tighter. “Kerringston…” No formalities, no friendly drawn out greeting. The surprise and anger on the brunette’s face was evident - Joseph Kerringston, here in Port Royal, at a time such as this? Of all people, he was one of the very last she’d expected to see - the very last one she wanted to see as it were. Keeping her grip on the pistol, Vari took a few steps forward to make sure this wasn’t some sort of hallucination brought on by the humid haze of the Caribbean. No, these two were very real indeed. Free hand on her hip, she pointed the pistol in Joe’s direction and stared him down. “Last time I saw you was during the incident in Nassau, when ye snatched all the loot and left me an’ the crew trapped there to deal with the bloody Navy all on our own. Would’ve skinned you alive if ye hadn’t run like a coward.” Her gaze was smouldering, never leaving his face.
---------------------------------
Before he knew it, Edward felt himself being shoved by Sam, stumbling into a narrow alleyway with tears still blurring his vision. His legs wobbled unsteadily as though they would buckle, but he pressed himself forward, knowing that if he didn’t run from this place, capture would certainly result. No matter how much he didn’t want to, he ran as best he could with shackled feet and wrists, only pausing once to duck behind an abandoned fruit stand as a group of Redcoats marched through the empty streets. His heart was racing, but he knew it wasn’t from the physical activity or almost getting caught - no, this was different… this was, emotional. “Oh God,” Edward breathed to himself, looking up at the sky. “Why did I ever get her into this mess? I’m so sorry, Sam…” He could only pray that she was safe and out of harm’s way.
---------------------------------
Keyara stood off to the side of the men, watching as Beckett gave them the orders that would lead to the arrests of Will, Elizabeth and Norrington. Truth be told, she was overjoyed to be off the ship and back on land once more, even if it wasn’t exactly ‘dry’ at the moment. Still, it was a welcome change from the rocking waves and sea creatures they had experienced. A chill traveled through her bones at the thought of that monster - the Kraken, was it? It had taken not one, but several baths to rid herself of the slimy sensation. Even still she could feel the giant tentacle crushing her…
Suddenly the men began trudging towards the city and one of the redcoats approached Keyara with a brown steed who had most likely seen better days, helping her mount the beast. She sat sidesaddle, one hand upon the reigns and the other holding her parasol as the horse started forward in a steady trot. Glancing about, she could see various citizens peering out of their windows, staring at her in bewilderment, as if silently questioning who this woman was that rode with Beckett’s men.

"Might be willing to die just to see his head on a platter, but I'm certainly not." Elijah sighed at the Captain's words, once more he was thwarted from doing the one thing he wanted to do and that was attack the damned Lord. The finger upon his pistol loosened and he tucked it away before turning towards Linny and Dante who were both looking at him with equal smirks on their faces.
"She's right ye know." Loraline stated, pushing strands of wet hair that began to stick against her cheeks.
"You'll have your time Eli, if not we can always sneak away and pillage the local tavern." Dante's brow raised, an evil grin passing over his features.
"Seriously you two..." Linny scoffed, flipping her wet hair at them before following the rest of the crew.
------------------
After helping the Lady Keyara onto safe and somewhat dry land he was told that him and some of the other new recruits were to find provisions in the town and stock up the ships cabins with food and other goods before they would be taking off again.
Gabriel was thankful then that he could get away from his duties, if only for a little while. Deciding that the others would be scrounging around the taverns and the bakeries, he was going to take the back paths and revisit places that he hadn't been in years.
Loosening his hold on his bayonet he headed down the rain slicked streets of Port.
------------------
Who are these newcomers, and dare they come this close to us. That was the first thought that passed Aurora's mind as amber orbs stared into the near distance at the two new approaching figures. She wasn't the only one that seemed weary, the three soaked girls next to her seemed to tense and raise their weapons.
Aurora-Rose's fingers gripped the tip of the dagger that she had been playing with. As the figures got closer she noted that Vari's pistol was pointing straight at the man's heart. Interesting, so instead she directed her aim towards the woman, should they prove enemies she would release the dagger with deadly force.
Though, for the first time in a long time Aurora Rose actually lost focus, true focus that was. Aurora could let her mind wander or some of her actions might seem... strange, but they were actually well thought out or just spur of the moment brilliance. But in this very moment her mind was a blank as she stared at a flash of red and a tousle of blond.
Her thoughts began to flood through her mind like rum in Tortuga and she flipped the dagger once more in her hand and grasped the hilt with deadly force. "I'll find us some ships." Her voice sounded fierce and her free hand moved to lower her hat so that her face was shrouded in complete darkness.
Without another word she began to run, errant brown curls twisting with the air. She ran with a purpose and was hell bent to get what she wanted.
Turning corners with the ease of one who has known the streets, she passed between buildings and moved easily around people who barely took notice of her, all the while keeping her eyes locked with the red and blond figure who moved also with a purpose, but with a much slower cant.
It didn't take long for her to catch up to this man and pull him between the blacksmith and some shoddy home that was crumbling beneath the rain. Aurora-Rose was hardly paying attention to her surroundings, no, instead she felt the way she pressed the blade against the man's throat, a man she had known her entire life. She let herself get used to the feel of him once more before she spoke.
Gabriel on the other hand was having quite opposite reactions. He had been minding his own business, looking upon the places he used to visit as a child and before he knew it he was being pulled with great force into a space between two buildings. Fear overtook him before a sense of familiarity flitted through his system.
This was not a stranger's body pressed against his back, these were not foreign fingers pressing against his throat, holding his head upwards so that his eyes received the force of the falling rain.
He swallowed thickly, his adam's apple rippling beneath the slender calloused fingers of a woman he had not seen for years for reasons he would rather not get into.
"Aurora..." He gasped, it was not a question. It was more him voicing out to make sure this was not a dream.
"That's Miss Delour to you." She hissed against his ear, reveling in the shiver that passed over him. He feared her, she could feel it and pressed the blade even more into his throat. Not enough to draw blood, but enough to show that he was under her mercy.
"You have something I want, and I want it now."
"Anything..." Gabriel was thrust back into memories as the wind swirled around them, bringing the familiar scent of the woman and causing his mind to temporarily go blank.
Aurora laughed, Gabriel had not changed. He was weak, always had been and she was going to use this to her advantage. His weakness was the reason for their long separation, if only he would have left dock... if only...
"I need a ship, a ship ready to leave immediately. No crew, no captain, just a ship."
Gabriel knew he shouldn't answer, he knew that Aurora was a pirate and was up to no good, but the blade was pressing so tauntingly against his throat that he had to give in... he wasn't weak! He just had no choice.
"Just around port, some ships are stored for Beckett should anything happen to the Endeavour."
Aurora grinned, she had gotten what she wanted, and then some. Dropping her blade she turned Gabriel around so that the blond man was facing her. Tipping her hat back she gave him a lascivious wink. "You never could resist me." Her words were taunting as was the kiss she left upon his lips before dashing away as quickly as she had come, leaving a very confused and distraught Gabriel in the dark alley.

The pouring rain, which never seemed to stop, had caused the roads to become slippery and muddy. Sam's clothes were soaking wet but the redhead hardly noticed this, anxious as she was to escape. With a quick glance over the shoulder she spotted that someone, she could not distinguish more than a shadow, was still following her.
Relief, that her diversion obviously worked and that Ed might have been able to make it to safer grounds, was quickly replaced by worry. She couldn't keep up the running for long; exhausted she was from everything that had happened. Turning left, right and left again in the dark and narrow streets made her head spin: she felt utterly lost. But this did not matter as long she could shake off her persuer. So Sam kept running, or wobbling would be a better way to describe her run.
Suddenly there was a blasting sound behind her, deafening and disturbing the monotumous ticking of raindrops, but before Sam could process that it was the sound of a gunshot the woman felt a sharp pain in her shoulder. Whether she'd been hit or the bullet went right past her, Sam did not know.
Blindly she kept on running. Upon glancing a second time over her shoulder there followed a loud thump! and Sam's body hit the ground. In her hastyness she'd bumped into something or someone. The redhead looked up, fearing that she'd might run into a Redcoat and that everything was over. Instead she recognised a pretty girl, somewhat younger than she was with a glistening dagger in her hand. A pirate?
For the third time that evening Sam was hesitating of what to do. She'd never trusted strangers because even on friends she could hardly depend. But then she was sure that whatever Redcoat followed her, if he would catch her, her journey would end with the noose.
Therefore Sam did something that was against her pride and principles: she looked up again at the girl and then pleaded, from one woman to another: "Please, help me.."
Then everything became black and the young woman fainted.
[ The young woman would of course be Aurora-Rose
And could someone play a soldier for me who is to arrest poor Norrie? ]

[I hope this post is alright with you Panneth as I had a sudden bout of inspiration and decided to go out on a limb.]
Carlist stood outside the boarded up house. Rain ran off the rooftop and onto his face, mixing with the tears that also fell. It was the house that was once filled with happiness and the smells of his mother's wonderful cooking. He peered in through the grimey window into what was once the living room and could almost see himself surrounded by his two sisters, sitting infront of the warm fire opening their christmas gifts whilst their parents watch on with loving looks. He remembered wripping off the last piece of paper to find a glorious model Galleon encased in a large wooden box. With a pang he also recalled how his older sister Alanna often use to steal it to play with herself. "I'm not Stealing it, I'm Comandeering it. Nautical term." She'd always answer whenever he complained.
"You have something I want, and I want it now."
Carlist was pulled out of his thoughts by the sond of someone being threatened and froze.
"Anything..."
He swore he recognized the second voice, but he coun't bring himself to draw his sword.
"I need a ship, a ship ready to leave immediately. No crew, no captain, just a ship."
"Just around port, some ships are stored for Beckett should anything happen to the Endeavour."
He suddenly realized who the second person was; his friend and shipmate Gabriel Phillips.
"You never could resist me."
He watched as a young woman rushed out of the alleyway between his old home and the Blacksmith's shop. He knew he should have followed he but he was more concerned about his friend. Quickly he slipped into the alleyway and approached the very distraught looking man. "Gabe?" _________________________
"If it's anything like my brother did to me, then I can understand Nath, really I can. But I'm sorry, I just don't think now is the best time." Alanna pitied the man, he was a valued member of the crew and she greatly hoped he wouldn't do anything stupid. She turned to the others. "I think we should move out, head back to the Duchess." She quietly made her way through the undergrowth back towards the outskirts of the town with the others following. They kept to the back streets to avoid any unwanted attention.
Carmel knew she should have been thinking about where she was going and what she was doing but her mind kept drifting to the house a few streets away where everything went wrong. THUMP! She hadn't been looking at all where she was going and had walked right into someone's back. "Oh gods I am so sorry!" She exclaimed, shaking herself from her wandering thoughts. Her eyes strayed to a pistol and the dark haired woman who was holding it. She gulped.
(The woman obviously being Vari.) [Just to say guys, if ye be in need of a ship the Dowager Duchess is anchored just around from the harbour ]

(ok, officially, this was extremely hard to fit in/give time to Joe, Emma, Lot, AND Lucy! )
“Whoa, there,” Joe put up his hands at the sight of Vari's pistol. A smirk crept across his for once clean shaven face as he continued to gaze into her furious eyes. “Nice to see you too, Vari, love.” He only grinned all the harder as he too reminisced over the good old days… and the things he had spent all that glorious treasure on.
Lotty was beginning to get that strange, uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach as the events unfolded around her. She got the feeling these people weren’t here to help… although if Vari knew one - no matter how rocky the relationship was - at least it meant they were pirates, right?
“Oi! Where is she going?” Lucy yelled as A-Rose took off down the slippery wet street. Lucy cursed under her breath. “Find some ships? What’s all that?” the French girl took a threatening step forward towards the three women - regardless of their weapons.
Emma tensed and watched as Aurora disappeared. Maybe they should go after her? Maybe they were better off without her? She glanced over at Vari in concern for their new friend - it was then that she spotted the newcomer who had just bumped into Vari.
“And who be ye?” Joe asked as Carmel stumbled into their midst . He cast a quick glance at Lucy and could tell she was greatly displeased by the turn of events. “Don’t ye know better than to walk around in the down-pouring rain, love?”
------------------------------------------------
“Then I’m coming too!” Carmon replied to her brother. She ran up to his side as quickly as her exhausted legs could carry her. He knew it was no use protesting against this idea. She wouldn’t want to go home alone and she certainly wouldn’t want to be left standing in the muddy streets alone in the rain with pirates and trigger-happy Redcoats running around.
“Okay,” Cole nodded and Carmon wiped the mud, tears and rain away from her cheeks. He hurried through the streets with Carmon by his side. Upon rounding the corner they spotted the Commodore on his horse. However, just as Cole was going to start to approach him a man, smartly dressed, stepped into view.
The siblings stood there, hidden in the shadows and fog, for several minutes. “No,” Carmon heard Cole murmur, “this can’t be happening.” Commodore Norrington was under arrest? The man was reading off charges. Every now and then Carmon and Cole overheard what he was saying.
“…conspiring to set free a man convicted of crimes against the crown and empire and condemned to death for which…”
Cole turned away.
“Umm, Carmon, go home and…pack a few things,” he looked over at her and pushed the rain-plastered hair away from his face. He hoped she wouldn't protest. This time there was no alternate option. They had to split up, “I need to find Ed.”
Carmon slowly shook her head and looked down the street a ways to where they were leading the Commodore away. “No, I can’t, Cole,” she cried, “we can’t leave. Come with me.”
“Carmon,” He grabbed hold of her shoulders and looked her square in the eyes. Lightening lit up the sky for a brief minute. “Just do it. Don’t worry. We’ll be alright. I'll meet you back here in a bit.” he forced a small smile, trying to be reassuring, before he left his sister and made off back down the street and away from her. Don't follow me, Carmon, he prayed. She would be able to make it, she would be just fine, she was stronger than she thought she was. He felt bad for leaving her, for forcing her to go back alone but he knew she would be able to manage it.
Where should he start looking, though? For all he knew Edward might be dead in the jungle.
(and this is probably a good part to have Edward stumble across Cole or something )
---------------------------------------------------
When Commodore Norrington was spotted, Lord Beckett gave the orders to have him arrested. It was a perfectly opportune moment considering the Commodore was virtually all alone. Cutler remained sitting high atop his horse several feet away from the scene as his men shackled Norrington. He would have preferred the Commodore to have been at the wedding so he could’ve arrested all three at once and made a spectacle out of them and their disobedience to the Crown, but even he couldn‘t always have things his way. He noticed some people staring in horrified awe from doorways and windows. This still could be a learning experience for this law deprived people after all. “This is what happens to all those who help pirates,” he said over the downpour. “Take him away,” he then addressed his men in a lowered voice. Port Royal was finally getting some culture and the people Governor Swann didn't have the hearts or guts to arrest were finally being brought to justice. Although Norrington and Turner could serve a greater purpose yet.
---------------------------------------------------
Will didn’t want to be late for his own ceremony so he hurried around the shop as fast as he could. Throwing on his clothes and mentally preparing himself. The rain pounded down outside. “Hopefully Elizabeth has a back-up plan in case of rain.” he murmured to himself. Will's back was turned when he heard men breaking down the door to the blacksmith shop. (He had come here to prepare for the wedding because it was familiar ground. It was something he was comfortable with - an environment he knew and wanted to prepare in.) He whirled around only to see men - uniformed men - filling the little shop. One was standing out from the rest, holding out a pair of hand cuffs. “What’s going on?” Will warily looked them all over. This couldn't be good, but Will was still determined not to disappoint Elizabeth.

[[PD, I figured Lucette and Vari could not get along for the time being, or for the entire RP, unless you had different plans. ]] Vari turned the pistol towards Lucette as she came forward, scrutinizing her up and down. “And I suppose ye’re Joe’s newest plaything… well, trust me dearie, ye ain’t goin’ to last long with this feckless clown,” she scoffed, nodding her head towards Joe. But her eyes returned to Lucette and something stirred deep inside of her - was it caution or wariness, or… or jealousy? She had a feeling about this one and it likely wasn’t anything good. In fact, just the look of this woman put Vari on edge and it came as no surprise when she pulled the trigger.
Out of ammunition.
She growled in frustration and secured the pistol at her side once more. Not a single thing had gone as planned these past few days, and now to top it all off, it was utterly down pouring and there was no escape ship prepared for them yet.
Why had Joe and this mystery woman picked now to become involved with them?
And for what purpose was Aurora running off?
And where were Cole, Carmon, Ed and Sam?
Could things possibly get any worse?
Apparently so. Faint footfalls could be heard in the near distance. To even the most untrained ear, it closely resembled the synchronized thundering of redcoats marching towards them from the direction of the blacksmith shop. Something suspicious was taking place here.
Someone or something bumped into her, and Vari found it was a strange blonde girl. She folded her arms across her black-vested chest and stared at the newcomer with patience wearing thin. “And just who are you?!”
--------------------------------- When he was sure the redcoats had passed by, Edward abandoned his hiding place and headed in the opposite direction of the soldiers. His stomach growled in annoyance, having not eaten since God knew when. Glancing about, he finally spotted a well-known bakery and decided to risk it all by ducking inside. Albeit the door was unlocked, there was not a single soul inside. Ed passed shelves of mouthwatering baked goods, approaching the tidy counter and peering behind it. Utensils, spices, butter, flour… wait a minute. An idea formed behind clouded emerald eyes.
Frantic shackled hands prepared a fire in the open oven and dumped all of the butter he could find into a metal bowl, placing it into the fireplace just long enough for it to fully melt. When the butter had cooled enough so as not to burn himself, he poured it over first his left wrist, then his right, until both hands had been greased enough to slip out of the irons.
Next came the fetters around his ankles. Edward reached for one of the sharpened knives behind the counter, jabbing it into each keyhole until they both opened with a soft click! He let out a sigh of relief, reveling in the sensation of freedom that came when his bonds were undone.
The familiar growl of his empty stomach returned. Ed snatched one of the loaves of bread from the shelf and sliced it into rations, taking a single slice for himself and wrapping up the rest to take with him for later. He slipped the package of sliced bread into his tunic and hungrily devoured his piece before heading back out into the soaking rain.
As he turned the corner of the street, his heart nearly leapt out of his chest. It was… “Cole!” He called out, rushing towards his longtime friend. “I can honestly say I’ve never been more elated to see you in my life…” But the lad was standing there alone. “Where’s Carmon?”

[ Okay I can't wait for Pan to post! I'm not sure what is to happen with Norrie though]
In the pouring rain Commodore Norrington could distinguish the silhouette of the approaching Lord Beckett. He was not acqauinted with the man personally yet he'd heard enough of his reputation to realise he was dealing with a powerful even a fearsome man.
But the Commodore was not a man who was easily scared. His reserved but calculating nature had helped him to overcome many struggles and even now, with the many disasters of past days, he believed that not everything was lost. If he just approached Lord Beckett in a tactful way he might be able to keep him from discovering the actual state of chaos in Port Royal.
Norrington greeted Cutler Beckett with a nod but even before he could exchange formalities, he heard his cold orders. James was petrified. The guards Lord Beckett dragged him of his horse but James was numb; he could not move. His hands were shackled, but he was too much in horror to speak. He only seemed a spectator that watched the scene from above, but who wasn't present.
“This is what happens to all those who help pirates,” called the chairman of the East Indian Company with a smug look on his face.
This was more than the poor Commodore could bear after days of misfortune. The unjustice of his arrest awakened an inflaming anger inside him which he'd never felt before. Slowly James felt it spread through his body as if it was consuming him.
"No!" he managed to rasp. It was a desperate cry like the sound of a trapped animal. But Norrington soon regained his voice again. "This must be a mistake.. You don't understand." But the satisfied smile on Beckett's face told him that this man did not need an explanation. That he'd made a plan on his own. James frantically tried to escape out of the hands of his captors which almost succeeded as the guards were shocked by his sudden eruption of aggression and had let go.
But soon many more of Beckett's man had surrounded the the scene. Norrington looked around him, a wild look in his eyes, searching for an oppurtunity to escape. The realisation of that it was impossible to escape struck him hard. After all he had not been able to escape or avoid all the disasters which had crossed his path. Was this his Fate then?
James fell on his knees, convinced that he now had to pay for the mercy he had given to Jack Sparrow and the kindness he had shown to Elizabeth to spare Turner. That was the event that had triggered his misfortune. When Beckett ordered to take him away, James' head rested on his chest but not in surrender to Beckett, but in acceptance of the path that had been chosen for him.
----------------------
Elizabeth sat quietly near the entrance of the chapel. Her gown and hair were completely soaked by the pouring rain. In her hands she clutched a beautiful bride's bouquet of which all flowers seemed more wasted than ever. The tables with flowers and crockeries for the guests were abandoned just like the seats for the musicians.
Silently Elizabeth watched the lightening strike and she looked up when the roaring thunder faded away and made place for the sound of footsteps. Elizabeth sprang to her feet and ran to the chapel which was now filled with redcoats and among them a shackled man. It was her groom...
---------------------
Nathaniel looked at the Captain in doubt. Beckett was now moving into the city if he wasn't going to follow him now, his chance might be lost. But Nathan remained where he was and grimaced as he realised that he'd screwed up perhaps his only opportunity.
He stared at the Endeavour as he silently vowed: This time you have escaped me.. but I swear on the graves of my family that I will kill you one day, Cutler Beckett..
Then he disappeared out of sight, following Alanna and the rest of the crew to the Duchess.

[[I know, it's terrible to watch this poor thing sink lower in the RP section... Hopefully things will clear up soon enough for the both of them (and Lothers) and we can get back to this... maybe all of this Pirates 4 talk will also help stir things up, for I am all too excited! -le bounce-
Hm, but we've got LotR to look after for the moment, so I suppose this can just be on a vacation while we go hunt some orcs.
Either way, it's cool to be a part of something that's lasted this long... Huzzah for KAWEOTH! ]]
