Elizabeth followed without a backward glance, but Isabelle was noticeably slower. Likely due to the excruciating pain in her leg. She refused to look down at it, feeling the contents of the last meal she'd eaten - which was very long ago - threaten to eject themselves.

Will was now walking down steps that led to the brig. His eyes slowly ajusted themselves to the darkness and then everything came into focus.

Off to his left was the small iron brig with helpless victims inside. "Elizabeth! Over here!"

Running toward the cell, he looked back to Isabelle and Victoria, "Don't worry, we'll all leave here tonight."

Victoria rushed over to the cell where the rest of her family was being held. She pulled the keys from Will, and hands shaking, unlocked the door of the cell. Emily attached herself to her older sister's leg. "Victoria! I'm glad to see you again!"

"Heavens above, thank goodness you children are all right!" Margaret breathed, holding her daughters close. Her blue eyes traveled over to Isabelle's leg and she gasped. "Isabelle, how did this happen?"

Before she could respond, however, another violent strike collided with the boat, making the boat tip even futher than last time.

"Something is after us," Victoria realized. "I can feel it. We're in trouble."

Will stumbled sideways and bumped into Elizabeth, but as he did, he took her in his arms....it was somewhat of an instant reaction to protect her...even though he sent both of themselves slamming into a wall.

"Owwwww...." Will grunted. Regaining his footing, he said to Elizabeth, "We need to get off the ship! There is no time to waste!"

Jack in the meanwhile had gotten himself off the floor, and had saunted himself out of the room, but not before giving the unconscious Captain Grey a good kick in the back and a set of colorful words from his mind.

After this, the infamous Captain had found himself the one and only rowboat, and without further ado, hopped in, lowered himself down into the ocean and started rowing away into the distance. Coward? No, just a smart Pirate.

The lurch in the ship, accompanied by the kick in the back had done somewhat to arouse the cruel Captain of The Devil's Lightening. He strained to open his eyes, cursing as he doggedly pulled himself up from the floor. The room was upset, the small amount of furniture overturned and upset.

No. No. NO!

They were no were in site. He stumbled out of the cabin, wiping blood from his head, and yelling for the crew.

--

Maxwell gave a quick and hurried hug to his two daughters, but stumbled as the boat shuddered, grabbing the rails of the brig they had just came out of.
"We need to leave, NOW," he said urgently.

Elizabeth stumbled awkwardly to her feet and took the stairs up to the deck two by two - to find the rowboat gone. She swiveled in the center of the deck, crates and barrels tumbling around her, in obvious dismay. Lightning pierced the sky and in the split second of unearthly light Elizabeth spotted a lone figure, rowing away.

Practically spitting with rage she rushed to the side of the ship, which tossed wildly, and wiped rain from her eyes. "Jack! You coward!"

Will ran after Elizabeth, but stumbled on the stairs when the ship gave another violent jerk.

Growing nervous knowing that something was terribly wrong, Will rushed himself onto the slippery wet deck, "Elizabeth, get into the boat!"

Will's eyes searched around and looked back at Elizabeth, "Where's the boat? Elizabeth, where's the boat?!"

Jack could see some commotion on the ship, but he cared not. After all, it wasn't his ship and so, he rowed only faster.

"With that domnoddy of a Captain!" shrieked Elizabeth over the roaring wind. "We need another plan!"

She darted onto the upper deck, attempting one-handed to maneuver the tiller. It spun uncertainly - the rudder was likely damaged. Elizabeth muttered a choice word inaudible over the din. "Furl the sails! She's carrying too much water!"

Will began to unfurl the sails as Elizabeth had ordered, but continued to glance out at the dark sillouette of Jack Sparrow, rowing away, in the only survival they all had.

With his gut wrenching in fear, he could only hope they would survive somehow......but it was a very low possibility....

Jack continued rowing. The black waves of the ocean licked against the oars as they cut through the waves. A twisted expression of bitter hope sank onto the pirate's features.

The small shadows on board Grey's ship were rising more into a chaotic mess. Jack turned and peered over his shoulder. No land in sight.

Victoria glanced over the side, watching Jack. That idiot had left them to die without a second thought. She had no idea what to do or how to help her family.

The Kraken's tentacles were slowly slithering up the side of the boat, waiting with hunger for its next meal. Emily screamed and clung to Maxwell's side, hoping her father could be of some comfort. Margaret remained calm, stroking Emily's strawberry blonde hair before turning to Will, Elizabeth, Victoria and Isabelle.

"Go, while you still can! Secure those barrels together with some rope and make a raft." Margaret's voice was filled with concern, but Victoria had to marvel at how brave her mother sounded.
