Smiling as Rosalina laid down in bed and closed her eyes, Darius laid down beside her and gently took the woman in his arms.

Daniel sighed and fell into a pensive silence as if he was contemplating Gareth's words as the mage quickly finished his meal.
"You do not think..." Daniel began to say but was cut off by a moaning coming from Calista.
"Love, what's wrong?" Gareth asked as he jumped to his feet and walked the short distance to her bedside. Without warning her arms, legs and body began to twitch and convulse wildly as Daniel could only stare with wide eyes.
"Calista, no!" Gareth exclaimed, his heart clenching with worry as he watched the maiden convulse in front of him, unsure if he could endure the agony of watching her body twist and contort so violently again.
"What happening?" Daniel whispered as he noted the mage's pale face. "What is going on with my daughter?" he barely managed to choke out.
"She's having another seizure!" Gareth exclaimed. "Hold on, love..." he told her softly, wishing he knew what was triggering it.

Sighing softly as he saw the frown on Rosalina's face, Darius knew that she was worrying about Calista. "Relax, love" he murmured to the sleeping woman. "She will be fine.

"Do something!" Daniel yelled at Gareth, panic in his voice. "Can't you help her with your magic?" he added, nearly harping on the man.
"I am not sure what to do!" Gareth exclaimed. "The last time, the seizure stopped of its own accord," he added his voice tight with worry. Remembering how Darius told him to try to lower her fever, Gareth immediately picked up the cloth that had slipped from Calista's forehead as her convulsions began and after dipping it into the water began to lightly caress her forehead and neck with it, hoping that it would have a cooling effect on her skin as she continued to jerk violently on the bed.

Smiling as he felt Rosalina relax, Darius quickly fell asleep with the woman he loved in his arms.

"Why aren't her convulsions stopping?" Daniel blurted out, his voice rising in his worry. Not knowing how to respond, Gareth just chose to remain silent as he continued to dab her forehead, face and neck gently. After about five minutes her convulsions began to slow into a rhythmic pattern until they finally ceased and she lay limp and unresponsive on the bed as if nothing had happened.

Not stirring, Darius just slept peacefully at Rosalina's side, content merely to be with her.

Breathing a sigh of relief as Calista's convulsions ceased, Gareth leaned over her motionless form and placed a light kiss to her brow before placing the cloth on her forehead again.
"What happened? What caused her seizures?" Daniel asked.
"I-I don't know," Gareth admitted with a sad sigh. "I may have to go and search for different herbs to treat her fever since these don't seem to have any effect," he added glumly, his hazel-green eyes filled with worry.

Darius stirred once in his sleep although he did not awaken.

Placing his fingers lightly against Calista's cheek, Gareth could only sigh.
"What is it?" Daniel asked softly.
"Her fever has not yet dropped," Gareth whispered, worry clearly written over his features.
"What can we do?" Daniel asked. "I am going to have to try and look for other herbs. Other than that, the only thing I can suggest is prayer."

Rosalina slept for the next several hours. Soon she woke and streched. She opened her eyes and froze midstrech. Was it possible. She looked beside her, she could see him, he was blurry, but she didn't care. "Darius." She shook him. 'Dary!"

"What? What?" Darius asked half asleep as Rosalina shook him awake and he glanced around. "What is it? Is something wrong?" he questioned, worried that something terrible had happened.

Taking to pacing the room in the last few minutes, Gareth felt he was going to explode. "I can't just stay here and watch her suffer..." he muttered to himself. "If she gets any worse, I fear she may be beyond any aid," he added as he glanced over at Daniel.
"If you feel the need to go and search for herbs, go. I will monitor her closely. She is my only child. Flesh of my flesh. I won't lose her to a fever."

"You can see?" Darius asked Rosalina as she touched his lips with her feather-light touch. A wide grin then spread across his face before he kissed her lightly on the lips. "I am so glad," he added softly once he pulled back.

Hearing Calista moan softly, Gareth quickly turned his attention to her, afraid that she may have another seizure. "Gareth..." she whispered weakly although she did not open her eyes.
Moving to her side, the mage leaned over and kissed her cheek lightly, wincing inwardly at how hot her skin still felt.
"I'm here, beloved" he whispered in her ear.

Chuckling Darius held Rosalina close. "Thank heavens," he said softly. "This has to be the best news I have had over these past days," he added with another wide grin.

Opening her eyes slightly, Calista just gazed up at Gareth with dull glassy blue eyes. "Have you rested?" she croaked out before coughing again, her throat raw and sore.
"I've rested enough," Gareth remarked although he knew it was a lie. He dosed for a short time over the past few hours but did not really get any rest due to his concern for Calista.
Though her mind was still hazy, Calista was coherent enough to tell that he was just saying things to make her feel better. "Gareth, you're lying..." she whispered, worry flickering in her glazed eyes. "Please, you need to take care of yourself too," she rasped out.
