"So it's true then," Keyara replied, continuing to grin like a cheshire cat. She snatched the drawing of the Dead Man's Chest off of Beckett's desk. "I've heard stories, but I never thought it actually existed."

(I'm here!)
Gov. Swann rode home in silence, wondering why Elizabeth, his only pride and joy since his wife's death, would choose a pirate/blacksmith over a man with rank and prestige who could always care for her the way she should be treated. William Turner, though a fine young man, was not a man with title or wealth. Ah well, she's old enough to make her own choices I suppose... he thought.
Climbing unhurriedly out of his carriage at his home, Gov. Swann wandered up the steps and through the front door. Reaching his private office, he took off his itchy, and somewhat smelly, wig, placing it on the desk. Then he went to stand by the window, hands clasped behind his back, and stared at the fort.

Elizabeth walked home slowly, a little afraid of what her father would say when he saw her again. He hadn't seemed to mind her decision earlier, but maybe he'd just been saving face and was planning to express his disappointment after she came home. Oh, stop it! she scolded herself. Father's not like that, he isn't a hypocrite. He really doesn't mind my being with Will, and if he did he would have said something.
But she still felt apprehensive as she entered the grand house and knocked on the door of her father's private study. She knew he'd be in there - it was where he went whenever he needed to make an important decision. Elizabeth crossed her fingers, hoping that her father could come to accept Will eventually.

it's understandable that one could get lost in all the talking and planning, PotR... but sadly I'm not allowed on chatrooms or any of that kind of stuff either. So thanks, Will, for starting that thread... I'll have to make sure to get over there.

hey! ooo, and great introduction to Gov. Swann!!!
After exiting the fort Will wandered through the streets. He didn't feel like going back to the blacksmith's shop or Mr. Brown. He sighed, there was no one there for him to share his happy feelings with but Elizabeth. No one else cared or wanted to know, but he could feel it bottling up inside. He stopped in the middle of the street and ran his fingers through his hair, pondering. It was then he realized Elizabeth still had his hat. He began heading back to find it when he noticed someone in the shadows of the street. Will forgot, for a moment, about his hat and moved in for a closer look.
(ok, that's your turn, Aramel, to introduce Will to Vari. hope it works for you)

James horse was prepared and just before sunset he rode off to the Swan mansion. Though his purpose was business he secretly hoped that he would catch a glimpse of Elizabeth. After Gillette had left he'd been thinking, staring for seemingly hours. He felt like he was going crazy but now when he was in company he was reserved as ever. After a servant had taken care of his horse, he told that the servant he wanted to speak to the Governor and that the matter was urgent.

Turning back around to face Beckett, Keyara spoke. "Then why, I wonder, would someone as busy as yourself waste the time trying to find some ordinary chest? Surely, even if this isn't the Dead Man's Chest, it must hold something extemely valuable."Calloniel (PD) wrote: After exiting the fort Will wandered through the streets. [[This should be fun... ]]
"And stay out!" The owner of the little tavern threw Vari's tri-cornered hat out onto the street where she now stood, pockets full of gold coins and jewels. He slammed the door and the dark-haired woman bent down to pick up her hat, complaining about how she had not technically cheated in the card game. Suddenly a hand reached down before her and picked up the hat.

(thank you! )
Removing his hand from the door knob once more Beckett faced her and plastered a look of hospitality on his face as he put up with all her questions. He knew her game and that she was stalling him, he also knew that it wouldn't work to bend him into doing whatever it was she wanted him to do. "Perhaps you should find something else to occupy your thoughts with instead of wondering about other people's affairs." Beckett's cold eyes met her's. " Good day, Ms. Pierce". He opened up the door and motioned for her to leave.
(oo, this is gonna be fun! )
"I believe you dropped this?" Will, holding Vari's hat in his hands, smiled and offered it back to her. However, before she could reclaim it he stopped and withdrew. "wait, do I... know you?"
(btw, everyone is doing fantastic! This is wonderful to read what you guys will come up with! great job, one and all!)

(maybe that's because it has lots of good writers in it. and it includes ALL the PotC characters (well it will )... that helps a lot if you have all the characters included and not just Jack, Will and Elizabeth. I must admit I was worried about not having a very *set* plot-line though... but you're right it is turning out pretty good. (maybe it's because we do *sorta* have a plot... it's just a subtle one) well, I hope it does! )
Beckett had just about lost all his calm and collectedness while dealing with this girl, but before he did he stopped and checked himself. However, he still needed this foolish girl to leave him alone once and for all. He wondered how long it would take before Mr. Mercer returned or if he should just call his guards in to remove her. "hm, well, I don't believe I should be the one answering the questions here, do you?" He glared her down. "let's not forget where we are my dear Ms. Pierce." he gave the hint in his subtle and calm manner as usual. As she approched he did not move an inch, he only watched her. "and why should you worry yourself about my life and what I do?"
(Keyara is tredding on very thin ice right now. )
_____________
Will looked a little confused. Most people he met in his rank (as he figured she was) on Port Royal were very pleasent and would happily talk and tell him their name. "my name is Will Turner... I work at the blacksmith shop." he held out his hand... and her hat.

Beckett only looked at her, a sly grin spreading across his face. He knew exactly what she was doing. "you are very true. However, do you not think I've already considered those things? I believe you underestimate many things about me, Ms. Pierce. What does any of that have to do with you?" he would play along with her for now, just until Mr. Mercer returned and could take care of her or until she presented something valuble for him.

"um, yes..." Will took a step back and stared at her. "but you still haven't told me who you are.... wait, Jack Sparrow told you about me?" the confusion was evident on Will's face.
(a quick question, everyone.... how am I doing with Will? unfortunatly it's been too long since I've watched a good Will scene and really being able to study him so I feel a little rusty playing him )

Ragetti paced around his cell, bored as a brick. His one good eye took in the dismal surroundings, three walls and an iron gate. where is she? She promised that if I ever got arrested she would spring me from jail... wondered Ragetti. His pacing continued, getting faster and more nervous with each passing minute.

Keyara appeared deep in thought for a moment or two. Then, smiling in that persuasive way, continued. "What if I were to bring you the Dead Man's Chest and all of its contents? That way, it would get me out of your office and your hair and you can get on with more, important matters, such as an infamous escaped pirate."
~
"Aye, Jack 'as told me much about ye, Mr. Turner. We're good acquaintances. We've sailed together before, but I felt like I needed my freedom an' so I left the crew. My name is Varianna Pierce, or Vari if ye'd like," she stretched out her hand, a pair of loaded dice falling out and showing a 7.

"Father..." began Elizabeth, suddenly feeling a bit awkward. "Are you - quite all right with this? My seeing Will, I mean? I know you didn't protest at the docks, but I thought perhaps you were just saving face for the public and I wanted to make sure..."
[BTW, if you're doing Ragetti, should I come in with Pintel or are you just going to start the Ragetti/Anamaria storyline?]
