Kissing Rosalina gently, Darius just pulled the woman closer to him, hoping that she would be able to get some rest.

After a few minutes, Calista stopped choking and fell silent once more as she half-lay, half-sat in Gareth's arms. Waiting for a few more seconds, Gareth made sure to only trickle the broth down her throat as Daniel just watched the mage work with anxious eyes, a bit relieved that at least she was not choking. Please let this work, he prayed silently. Just let my daughter be well, he implored the heavens as he just stared at her motionless form.

Rosalina turned over. She kept her eyes closed, but still could not sleep. It wasn't because she was only worried anymore. she just couldn't sleep.

Sensing that Rosalina was still awake, Darius shook his head sadly as he gently began to rub her back in a soothing manner, wishing he could just help her to fall asleep so that she would not get sick again.

After about five minutes, Gareth managed to trickle the remainder of the drink down into Calista's throat. Gently laying the lifeless woman down again, he tenderly brushed back a strand of blonde hair before pressing a light kiss to her forehead. Tenderly lifting up an eyelid, he created a small light with his magic and shone it into her rolled back blue orb, but her eye still remained dilated, indicating she was still out cold. Sighing sadly as he let her eyelid fall close and his magical light to dissipate into nothingness, he lightly caressed her cheek. "What is wrong, my love?" he whispered to the woman, though she did not answer him. "Why won't you wake up, sweet maiden?" he asked, wishing someone could tell him.

Frowning at Rosalina's cough, Darius made a mental note to keep his eye on her so that she did not overtax herself and suffer a relapse.

Re-wetting a cloth, Gareth gently placed it once more on Calista's forehead before kissing her cheek lightly. "I will see you recover, my love. I will never leave you," he whispered to her as he gently ran his fingers through her hair.
"Continue to caress her face and neck with a damp cloth. We need to keep trying to bring down her fever," he remarked. Nodding as he dipped a rag in water, Daniel then lightly began dabbing her cheeks with the cloth. Meanwhile, Gareth cleaned up her vomit on the floor before walking outside to gather more water. Sighing to himself as he leaned against the well for a brief moment, he said a silent prayer for Calista, simply wishing that she would recover and regain consciousness soon.

Darius' frown deepened as Rosalina buried her face into him and coughed again. At least she did not feel warm so that meant she did not have a fever, but the last time she had a cough things went bad for her. "Ro...?" Darius whispered her softly, worry in his tone.

Walking back into the room with a fresh pot of water, Gareth set the vessel on the side as he just sat on the edge of Calista's bed. Gently taking her limp hand in his, he leaned forward as he lightly placed a kiss to her knuckles. "Come back to us, love," he whispered softly before reaching out to tenderly caress her pale face.

Worried for her health, Darius placed a light kiss on Rosalina's forehead before laying her gently back down on the bed. Rising from his position, he poured some water into a cup before taking her in his arms again and gently placing the decanter against her lips. "Drink this love, it may help to ease your throat."

Sitting at Calista's bedside as he continued to hold her hand, Gareth could not forget the moment when he walked into the room and saw both Rosalina and Daniel working on her. By the time he arrived at her side, the blueness had faded from her face and a deathly pallor had crept over her skin. Now, in this moment of stillness, it suddenly dawned upon the mage that for that period of time, his lady's heart had ceased to beat---that he had actually lost her. "I'm sorry, beloved," he whispered to the lifeless woman on the bed as he felt tears prickle at his eyes. "I never should have let you search for herbs. I should have remained by your side to protect you."

Sighing softly to himself, Darius just set the cup aside and held Rosalina close, wishing that she did not have to get involved with this whole mess. "Rest well, my love," he whispered softly.

"You couldn't have prevented this," Daniel whispered to Gareth.
"You are wrong. I could have turned her on her side. For mercy’s sake. She was actually dead for a time! I could have prevented this if only I had been here for her. But I wasn't. And only heaven knows when she will wake up again," Gareth remarked bitterly.
"Don't say that!" Daniel shouted. "Calista will be fine. Your love and my daughter will be fine. I won't believe otherwise," Daniel interjected, his voice tight with worry.

Laying Rosalina down on the bed, Darius just held her close before closing his eyes and slipping into a light sleep.

Remaining silent, Gareth just gazed upon the lifeless form of his love. Growing all the more unnerved by the mage's silence, Daniel just rose and started to hobble back and forth and as he paced the floor. He refused to believe that his little girl would not wake up again.

As the hours slipped by and Calista still showed no signs of waking, Gareth felt himself grow more concerned. "Please, beloved. Come back to me," he whispered as he gave her hand a gentle squeeze before leaning over her and lightly kissing her pale lips. Tenderly caressing her wan cheeks, the mage took a small bit of comfort in the fact that her fever had dropped slightly, although her skin was still very warm.
"Get some rest, Daniel" Gareth told him after a moment, sensing that her father was exhausted. "I will watch out for her."
"How's her fever?" Daniel asked, ignoring the mage's comment.
"It has decreased a little," he remarked. "Which is at least encouraging."
