As Keyara seemed to hesitate for a few moments, it gave Beckett time to study her and sum up her next words. However, what he heard wasn't exactly what he had expected to hear and he was at once more cautious than ever. Who was this person and did she really think he would trust her with the contents of the chest? "do explain why you think I need someone like you to retrieve this chest you believe I so desperately desire. And do you not think if I wanted you out of my office right now I couldn't have you taken out?"

He quickly bent down and picked them up and handed them back to her.

A huge smile spread over Elizabeth's face. "Thank you, father!" she said, hugging him once more before practically dancing out the door. She couldn't wait until the next day, when she could see Will again.

Elizabeth's eyes widened at seeing James Norrington walk by, and she ducked her head to hide the embarrassed flush that spread over her cheeks. Though she did not love him as she did Will, she did care at least a little about him and now she felt bad at rejecting him for what everyone else would see as a commoner - though of course Will is anything but common, she mused, the smile returning to her face.

Beckett chuckled to himself at her mention of ruling the entire ocean. Had this girl really thought he had overlooked that or that he didn't care? "do you?" he studied her. He could sense that she was beginning to get ever so distressed, wanting him to break and let her help. but why? he had to ask himself. This couldn't merely be for her to get revenge on her sister only, could it? At that Beckett's previous thoughts came to mind and this time he could not dismiss them. Abruptly he walked to the door, opened it and vanished from Keyara's sight. A few moments later a British soldier entered and stood motionless at the door.

Lord Beckett strode down the hall, looking for Mr. Mercer. He had a plan.

Will couldn't help but smile with her. That's exactly what he'd expect a pirate's response to be. He could see where Vari and Jack would fit together quite nicely. "oh, um, to..." Will looked at the ground. He wasn't quite sure how someone like this would understand something like his engagement to Elizabeth, "I'm engaged to Elizabeth." He tried to leave it at that.

"Sir, first I wanted to tell you that one of our fastest ships has just left to chase mr. Sparrow. Furthermore I wanted to inform you that there are several criminals - the former crew members of the Pearl- who've been arrested. I need your signature for their execution."
