The room was large. Some might even call it vast. In the room was bookshelf after bookshelf filled to the point of overflow with books. By one such book shelf was a window over looking the wooded lake outside, and through that window sunlight spilled into the room. Underneath that window sat a women with black hair. She sat with a strand of hair twirling in one hand, and another hand turning the pages of a book.
Arianna looked up from her book moving her neck around. She'd been in this position curled up in that chair underneath the window for some time now, and she was stiff. Her eyes glanced out the window as her head moved. Perhaps she should go and view that demonstration. It would give her a change of scenery. She pondered this for a moment before going back to her book. She might go later, just not now. There would be more demonstrations, more chances to venture out. Right now she was content to sit and read her book.

(Lol for some reason some people might gasp once they witness this character of mine, I have honestly hardly ever played a character like this.)
Awkwardly tumbling trough the library and fumbling the various scrolls or books within his grasp. His heavy, dark green and incidentally oversized robes seemed to only labor him even more with his apparently difficult task of passing trough the library to a free table. One might not have believed, that this uncomfortable grimace of a spell-caster was actually a sixth level mage.
However as he was renowned for his skill, he was equally known as a somewhat of a walking disaster amongst the mages. Certainly not because, he did not known how to cast spells or lack the knowledge about them. However he remained simply somewhat detached from the present as in absent-minded and forgetful.
Finally reaching his destination and spreading the items across the table, with one great slam of books and scrolls. Next Cael Morden began sporadically sorting out the valuables from the occasional riff raff, that might have been caught along. This was due to the fact, that when grabbing scripts he hardly payed attention allowed his mind to wonder. Thus one did not have a hard time imagining, that his interests wandered from one book to another and thus he would promptly grab them both whilst discovering a scroll of interest to him. His mind seemed to rock by chaotic whim from one side to another when at work, in the library or not.
Despite this apparent sporadic nature there remained one unsettling feature about him to every single person, who had ever witnessed him study. When successful or convinced of a discovery, a eerie smirk of victory would flash across his face, catching everyone off-guard. Yet at the very moment his fingers traveled from scrolls to scroll and his lips chanted silently something, that only he was aware of.

Dirt sure tasted funny.
It wasn't that he'd asked to taste dirt, or that he even enjoyed tasting dirt. Dirt had a cold, rusty tinge to it - even worse than Cook's artichoke pies. And what was that... iron? Dirt tasted like iron?
Blockhead. Of course dirt didn't taste like iron. Blood tasted like iron. His nose was bleeding.
"You gonna stay there, Nickett?"
"Doodoo."
"Dunceface."
With a grunt Durrel shoved himself to his elbows and endeavored a grab for his warhammer. It lay, haft-deep in muck, just beyond his fingertips. He tried to drag himself over, but he felt heavy - too heavy. His shoulders still ached from the blows. He attempted a spell, but the words tripped over themselves on his swollen lips. Drat it all! He couldn't fight, couldn't cast a single spell. And half an hour before the demonstration, too! He'd worked so hard. It wasn't fair.
"You're fat, Nickett. Go lose some blubber."
Laughter. Footsteps. They were leaving. At long last, his fellow Warriors were leaving. Durrel dropped his chin into the mud and fought tears.
He didn't know how long he lay there, but a din of excited voices told him that the demonstration was about to begin. He struggled, slipping, to his feet. One glance at the assembled crowd, then another at his mud-spattered shirt, made him want to cry again. Everyone was here. What looked like the entire Guild, gathered around the stage. And then there was him, a small distance behind the platform, ankle-deep in sludge. What would Master Burtad say?
Thunder rumbled overhead. Oh, a storm on the way too. Lovely.
Durrel winced, shook his mop of brown hair out of his eyes, and slowly bent to retrieve his warhammer. Pick yourself back up - that was what Master Burtad would say. One step at a time. The sun's always shining. Well, the sun wasn't shining now. Durrel felt better anyway, slinging his warhammer back over his broad shoulder. Maybe they'd still let him fight. Besides, he'd worked as hard as anybody.

“Pardon. Excuse me. Sorry. Terribly sorry.”
Keldar Sylet threaded his way through the group of eager spectators. Despite his efforts to step carefully, he managed to jostle not a few people. A sudden shriek in his ear alerted him to the fact that one boot had come down solidly on an unfortunate woman’s toes.
“Get off, you lout!”
Wincing at her shrill voice, Keldar jerked back and touched the brim of an imaginary hat. “I beg your pardon, miss.” A few steps later, he pushed free of the crowd and let out a sigh of relief. It made him nervous, being stuck in the middle of the group, with people pressing against him and sticking their elbows into his stomach. He wanted to see the demonstrations just like the rest, but from a less crowded vantage point.
Wandering down to the lakeshore, he knelt and splashed some water on his face. Funny how, even with the cloudy skies, being in the middle of so many people made him sweaty. He glanced back towards the audience as their excited exclamations quieted. The first Warriors must have stepped up to the stage.
Keldar glanced around and spotted a handy tree nearby. He clambered onto one of the lower branches and settled in, letting his long legs swing in the air. Not a dignified position for a Warlock, as he was sure some of his teachers would say, but at least he had a good view of the demonstrations.

--------------------
Tal stood on the side of the stage. He moved his gaze from the dark clouds above to the expecting crowd below in the cobble stone courtyard. He smirked to himself, They'll get the show they're looking for. One way or another. He thought as he hefted the two training swords in his hands. They may just be wood but they left bruises that not one man in the Warrior sect forgot.
He stepped out further onto the floor just as the first few drops hit his dark brown curls and thick wool coat. The crowd's murmurs grew louder as Tal and his challenger move into their fighting stances. They both faced each other for just seconds–or was it hours?–before the young Warrior whispered "Beghz." and feel a slight tingle through his limbs before lunging in fluid motion toward his enemy. Wood hit wood as Talamor's two short swords clashed on the long blade of the other Mage. The spell Tal had called was a quickening charm and something he was known for. His feet turned and blades spun from stance to stance gracefully to the percussion of the growing downpour.
It was over in what seemed to Tal the flicker of an eye lid but as he eased out of his final crouching position and glanced around everything was decently sodden by the rain. He had come close to being on his knees himself but the skirmish had gone as he had hoped and he was the one slowly helping his friend to their feet and shaking his had with a friendly smile.
Acknowledging the crowd's approval with a wave he walked off the wooden stage and on inside where he could get a cloak for the rain.
