Did you read some of your books yet? What's your favorite subject so far?" She started to talk at top-speed, barely able to contain her excitement. |

I think my favourite subject are potions, though I don't know about practice..." Brett looked at her with disbelieve. "You won't be saying that when you get to know potion master. Psyche smiled lightly. "He can't be that bad! I mean, maybe in your house he was unpleasant but normally in school, he may be quite great!" |

But I agree with you Psyche, surely he can't be that bad!" Morgan answered. "And my favorite subject is Transfiguration, just like Mark's. I hope we get sorted in the same House Mark, so we can have that lesson together!" She continued, while smiling at Mark. She felt bad for his stuttering, but started to like him already. |

Elise walked down the Hogwarts Express in a happy daze. She had spent all summer dreaming of the return to Hogwarts, and now it was actually happening! Her Muggle father hadn't been all that happy to let her return to some crackpot's school to learn more magic tricks. The row had been rather unpleasant, but Elise didn't mind. Her relationship with her father had been rocky for ages. She peered into compartments as she went along, but everywhere looked full. Some of her friends from the past two years caught her eye and waved; Elise smiled and returned their greetings. The compartment at the very end of the train seemed open. Elise hesitated in the doorway, watching the students (who all looked like first-years) talking animatedly about Houses and classes. "Do you mind if I join you?" she asked. "Everywhere else is full." |

Psyche clapped her hands "Someone who will tell us more about Hogwarts!" and showed the older girl the seat near her. "We are trying to think up, which classes will be best. Brett..." she pointed at the boy "...says professor Snape is a unpleasant man." |

Elise smiled and sat down. "I don't know what you mean by 'unpleasant'," she told the girl who had questioned her. "Professor Snape certainly is biased towards the Slytherins and hates to give anyone else credit for getting something right.... but that's only to be expected. If you pay attention, you can learn a lot in his class." She leaned in conspiratorially. "Don't tell him I said this, but Potions is probably one of the simplest classes at Hogwarts... if you're good at following directions, that is." |

"It sounds like you are not one of the Slytherins, so what House are you in? And how do they decided what House you're in?" Morgan asked, curiously. She had never met another young wizard or witch who had already started his or her study, and was dying to learn more about Hogwarts. |

"The Sorting Hat...!" Psyche burst to share her knowledge but decided to give older girl chance to say a word about sorting and houses. You never know when you hear something useful or exciting. |

"Psyche is right," Elise said, grinning. "The Sorting Hat matches you with the house you are best suited for; it's pretty smart, for a hat. I was sorted into Hufflepuff, which is not nearly as much of a pushover as people make it out to be." Elise was well acquainted with the opinions the other Houses had of Hufflepuff. |
