"Um, yes," said Mallory, "but why now, all of a sudden?"

(We kinda need Orophin to post soon, cause I don't want to get the meeting started before he gets a chance to introduce his character.)

Drake looked at Mallory with an odd expression, almost like mistrust. "No one really knows why, and they didn't send any information via comms, but I've heard rumors..." He stopped, reluctant to continue, with the wariness he felt now clear in his eyes.

(Should we PM Orophin?) Mallory glared at Drake. "So you're not going to trust me then? What did I do?"

(No, I think that he is just having some internet connectivity problems, is what he said. I guess he'll just be on when he can.)

Heliana had been following the discussion avidly, but felt it might be time to intervene. "Drake, you can trust Mallory," she said to him. He just looked at her skeptically. "Come on, she's been with the Resistance as long as any of us." Drake sighed, but nodded his head. "Fine," he said, looking at them. "It's just that there has been talk of a traitor, and I want to be wary of everyone. You can never be too safe."

"Honestly, you think I'D be a traitor?" Mallory scoffed, still a little miffed.

(Hi! So sorry, I was super busy, but I'm back now! :) Anyway, I don't think Orophin is getting on, so...)

Drake shrugged. "No, but still..." He trailed off. "Anyway, the meetings about to start," Heliana cut in. "I think we should get going."

Mallory nodded and followed Drake and Heliana to.... (where are we going?)

(Hmmm... Okay, super-long post time!)

Heliana let Drake lead the way, for she was thinking about the interesting nature of the Resistance's hiding spots. When she had first joined, one of the things she had done was to learn about where the resistance was located, and what she found out was fascinating. Since the Resistance had been growing quite rapidly, it had been necessary to find someplace where hundreds of people could gather and discuss what had to be done. They couldn't have used the headquarters of the Resistance, obviously, because only the highest members even knew where it was located, and besides, Heliana doubted that it could hold that amount of people. And since the Resistance spread over the entire world, there had to be many of these large meeting places in various hives (OOC: they call the city places hives). It was pretty tricky, but in the end it was decided that the sewers would be the ideal place for it. Large, hidden, and rarely (if ever) visited by the Council or Plice, they were maintained by people who kept their mouths shut. People got to the sewers by climbing down the maintenance shafts, which was rarely ever questioned, because it was just assumed that they were doing some clean up. Heliana was jarred from this train of thought as Drake spoke. "Hey, give me a hand with this, will ya?" He hissed at Heliana and Mallory as he tried to pry up a manhole cover. Heliana grabbed the cover and pulled up, straining to lift it.

Mallory silently joined Heliana and Drake and tried to help them lift the manhole cover. It was heavier than she expected. She staggered under the weight.

With one last big heave, the cover came up and was set down close to the hole that had been revealed. Heliana peered in, trying to spot the ladder as her eyes adjusted to the gloom.
