Ok - a monster post (apologies)...saw an opportunity to draw some earlier threads together.

Hope it works.

Working on Halvarin reading Amarwen's letters he had finally gotten. He hadn't gotten all the letters that are in the 'Letters' post. He will be writing one of his own.

Wasn't sure if Almara would have stuck around or not.

Roll on as you wish. :)

*Thumbs up*

No worries. If you need to, feel free to take liberty with my characters. I know I don’t get on as much these days and I don’t want to slow the flow of things.

Hi there fellow writers....seems like things are coming to a head in our tale - the unravelling of rule around Valacar's death and Eldacar's early years on the throne.

Divisions are opening wider and wider...I figure there had to be some disarray and doubt within the ruling family. If they were strong and organised, and shared a clear purpose and vision, Castimir would never have succeeded no matter his backing and ambition.

Thus far, Valacar is striving to unite his family as best he can for he perceives that his son will need their strong backing to face the trial of curbing Castimir's ambitions. This has to be done by Eldacar, though and the tension between Aldamir and his father is on the boil. Aldamir is questioning his father's decisions.

Eldacar has begun to wonder at what his wife is up to...early days on that front. I don't perceive the need to accelerate that particular plot line at this stage.

I've sent Almara back to Rie...and we're now in the next morning after a very intense night.

Alrighty, was time we heard from Helda for some insight in the Rhovanion perspective.

Morale would be low, I thought, and I also thought it likely that an old foe would be eyeing Gondor's growing weakness...As for whether the Guild might sponsor them...well Castimir's known for his boldness...just a notion Amarwen is weighing up at present in the wake of Helda's tidings.

And also, she's encountered Calimir and Castimir's son...never a dull moment.

I think the wobbly wheels are starting to come of the Gondor cart at this point. I posted Halvarin's response to getting some of Amarwen's letters, and I'm working on a post set in Pelargir at this time as well that carries on from where I left Halvarin off.

Also, Aldamir has made a hard decision to oppose the Guild at every turn, and it seems he has quiet approval from Eldacar. Things are coming to a boil!

Amarwen has made her way to the meeting point at the Inn. She has Helda and Vinyarion with her and she is awaiting others.

Helda has been busy recruiting, so we can expect a few more Rhovanians to fall in. Amarwen has left her one trusted maidservant behind to convey word onto Almara regarding the Bridge Inn. Once that is done, her maidservant will set out with the few belongings Amarwen will bring with her.

Meanwhile, Amarwen has given Eldacar still more disturbing information concerning his wife. Gondor's incipient spy mistress is coming to the fore...though she's a lot to learn about life beyond the comfortable haunts of the nobility.

Just had a thought. I should probably keep track of the months here, since Almara is pregnant. It was the 12th month when she told Amarwen, I believe, and she was 3 months along.

Does the Gondor calendar work on a 12 month year?

Yeah - I believe Gondor's calendar had 12 months. :)

Alrighty. That would put her due in the middle to the end of the 6th month I do believe.
