Hi guys!
I've really gotten all into these movies lately, and though I already have one of these going with motorkitty I want to make another one. This one is open for others to join, and my goal is actually to get it started over the course of the next few days. I already have an idea of what I want to do, and I think it might be a bit of a unique idea. As always there are a few things to consider before joining.
- Grammar and spelling. As well as proper dialog formatting. Meaning double space before each new piece of dialog. Some mistakes are obviously okay, but no chat speak or excess use of exclamation points or lack of capitalized letters where they need to be.
- Let's try and reply relatively regularly. Sometimes life gets in the way of course, but let's try to not let it die after two pages.
- You should have seen the first movie. That's the main focus of this RP, and if you haven't seen it you'll be lost, I'm afraid.
So, this is my main idea:
Our original characters are on the island of Jurassic Park during the events of the first movie. But they aren't together. So, for example maybe one character is on the island because they're a superduper spy there to steal something (lame idea, but just an example), or they're there as a veterinarian to tend to any sick dinosaurs, or they're there visiting friends/family, etc. Another thing: The events of the RPG will not follow the exact events of the movie. Yeah, the main idea is that Dr. Grant, Dr. Malcolm and Dr. Sattler are there to evaluate the park. And there is power failure, because Nedry's all "yo, gonna steal some embryos", and things go terribly wrong. But no, we don't limit ourselves to who gets to live or who dies. For example, I'm claiming Dr. Malcolm as my playable movie character, so he's not going to be buried under stuff and then holed up in the bunker for the rest of the movie. If you want to claim Dr. Grant or John Hammond or whoever, then you can change what happens to them. The general idea is the same, but not the lines or actual events. Lex and Tim can be there or they're not. Maybe they die, maybe they live. That's all up to us.
So basically, this is an example:
My original character Molly Grant is Dr. Grant's niece. She's on the island because she went with Dr. Grant. During the tour program goes wrong and the dinosaurs go all nutty, she escapes together with Dr. Grant and Dr. Malcolm, but Lex and Tim are eaten. Then they need to find a way to survive.
Your original character Laura McDinosaur is a veterinarian who misses the boat back to the mainland. She gets attacked when she's driving back to the visitor's center and has to escape by foot and then runs into Dr. Sattler and together they have to try and find a way to survive.
^ Just examples, my OC will not be a niece of Dr. Grant. 
There's no real limit for how many can join. I think the most important two rules are:
- Don't control anyone else's character. Ever.
- Don't do a random time skip. Obviously our characters won't be interacting, and maybe I have a great idea of what's going to happen at night. If your character goes to sleep, don't post again having made it morning all of a sudden, without giving someone else a chance to have something happen. I think the best thing to do would be to put in brackets at the end of the post something like "I'm okay if we do a time jump to 6 AM". Then, once everyone's okay with the time jump we can skip ahead. Or maybe we don't need to even skip ahead, because maybe my characters will be all going nutty while someone else's characters will sleep...
Uh. Yeah. I'm incapable of making short first posts, sorry.

Absolutely! Lets claim one "real" character each, so there are more for others to claim if anyone else wants to join. We can divide up the rest if no one else wants to be part of it.

Oh kay I was going to claim Ellie Sattler but I changed my mind I'll take Alexis (Lex) Murphy, if thats ok with you. I know she is a younger character but can I still play her? I'll make my OC later _________________ Ehmagawd, December 13 is this Friday!!
