I find Sam/Gandalf/Frodo scene near the beginning, when Sam hears about what the wizard and Mr. Frodo are talking. I find it amusing as Sam is sure that Gandalf will change him in something ugly :P

I like the Pippin-bath scene too!

The blind-fold scene in Lorien is quite funny. They didnt put that in the movie though! I was very sad when i realized that.

And when Pippin floods the floor with his bathwater! :D Or something to that effect. That is forever my memory of that chapter - Pippin singing and getting water everywhere.

I do have to say that is one of the most lighthearted scenes in the book. It's hard to think of others. I was going to say something about Ioreth and her chatter, and then remembered this was the FotR board. Three is Company is a fun chapter, but I have to agree that Frodo's reaction to everyone - especially Sam - knowing what he was up to is just brilliant.

Ha ha, that was hilarious :D

I always find the two scenes before and in the Mines of Moria with Gandalf and Pippin most amusing.

"What are you going to do then?" asked Pippin, undaunted by the wizard's bristling brows.
"knock on the doors with your head, Peregrin Took," said Gandalf. "But if that does not shatter them, and I am allowed a little peace from foolish questions, I will seek for the opening words."

"What's that?" cried Gandalf. He was relieved when Pippin confessed what he had done; but he was angry, and Pippin could see his eye glinting. "Fool of a Took!" he growled. "This is a serious journey, not a hobbit walking-party. Throw yourself in next time, and then you will be no futher nuisance. Now be quiet!"

I laughed a lot, and I still do in those parts. :roflmao: And Frodo's random song in the Prancing Pony was hilarious, too.

I like the bit where Merry and Pippin get stuck in the oak tree near Tom Bombadil's place. It make's me laugh when I imagine them being eaten by trees. :)
