My favorite song is from the book...page 363 of my edition, Galadriel's song...it starts out:
I sand of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew: Of wind I sang, a wind there came and in the branches blew. Beyond the Sun, beyond the Moon, the foam was on the Sea, And by the strand of Ilmarin there grew a golden tree.
It sounds so sad but beautiful. And kinda mystical as well - elves are just amazing!

I also like the song of Earendil Bilbo sang in Rivendell.. actually I like all the poems and songs..

(The passing of the Fellowship is one of my favourite songs in the FotR). My favourite song in the books, would have to be between The Song of Earendil, Snow White, The Fall of Gil-Galad, and the Walking Song. (I just can't make up my mind! These songs always come up in my head).

i agree i like the fall of gil galad but i also like the bath song and the road goes ever on and on. i also like the song of nimrodel
