I like lots of the songs but one of my favourites has to be the road goes ever on and on. I believe that Tolkien was insired to write that song through his time during warfare. I believe that war poets inspired by warfare, who write poems can produce some beautiful rhymes. As Soldiers were bored they did of course write poems. All of the songs, i believe, Tolkien originally wrote as war poems and then he applied them to his book. That fascinates me completley!

Really?? That's so cool! I can't read that poem in the book without sining along to it. I wonder why they didn't sing the 2nd verse in the movie?

I love all of his songs frankly. The Lament for Gandalf and the Passing of the Elves are very beautiful. I also like Eowyn's little chant for Theodred's funeral. It's a piece of Beowulf; I think it sounds really cool!

You know the song "In Dreams"? I like that one too. It's not on my soundtrack though.
