Guess what? My uncle lives within walking distance of his house in up-state New York! I've seen his house (I was surprised that it's actually not that big).
My uncle doesn't think much of it, he's just like, "Oh yeah, Viggo gets his coffee down a the local diner every morning." My cousin ran into him there once or twice.

Wow! Viggo has a house in NY. What dose it look like? I thought he only lived in California and Idahoe.

it does seem surreal
..living that close to a celebrity, who doesn´t make anything out of himself
..so down to earth and normal
- but then again, he has quite a bit of his danish heritage in him and we are a proud, but quiet people
..or at least that´s what we lke to assume about ourselves

- definately high..on the cool factor..!

Wasn't he born in NY? I think I've read it somewhere.
I've always thought he would live in California as well...

I think Viggo doesn't make that much out of his celebrity status anyway, so it could be possible that he's really so down to earth. OMG, it must be so cool living next to him. :) *swoon*

It's a big old farm house. The property is even bigger (my uncle says he gets it stocked with deer and stuff to go hunting).
Maybe it's just like a summer home or something. To bad I didn't get to meet him!

Well, I think it fits him in a way if you consider the fact that he mainly walked around in his Aragorn costume all the day in NZ and spent most of his time in the forests. :)

Yep, he's a real down-to-earth guy, especially since that town has like a population of 20 people at the most. :) lol

So he lives in a small town. I thought he lived in NY.

Ney York is not all city. Go farther north, closer to Canada, and there's a lot of country/rural towns.

I know it's not all city, I've been through it. Nice State, BTW. But's nice to know he still prefers the small town atmosphere. :-D

Oh my...such a long time since anything has been added to this thread...
I´ve seen his new movie, Eastern Promises..!
We discussed the brutality of HoV, this one tops it!
Brutal violence, up close!
Be wary, if you have a soft stomach or if you are under aged, not a good movie to see. Although, Viggo does do an amazing job!
Russian mafia, quite a shift of character, since Aragorn.
Talk of an Oscar, I hear!?

anyone else seen it?

^Nope, I haven't seen it yet. It's not in cinemas here yet. I think I'll have to wait till the end of December.

It has been Viggo's birthday on October 20th. He's 49 years old now, or? I think he really doesn't look that old. ;)

^Yeah, 49. It's crazy, he's still really attractive. ;)

Eastern Promises was good. The violence was not as hard to stomach as I thought it would be (but I saw it when it came out so maybe my memory has dulled the reactions :D), and yes, the bathhouse scene was WHOA, but like always, top-notch performance from Viggo.

I really want to see The Road, as well as his upcoming film about Freud and Jung.
