^Actually, I didn't see the movie in the theatres because I thought it would be too eww but then I watched it on tv (easy pillow-access! ;)) and it wasn't too bad. I kind of like the bath house scene because it fit so well with the plot and because it was a refreshingly new fighting scene. I did look away when he stabbed the guy in the face (eye?) though.

The Road was interesting... I think Cormac McCarthy has an intriguing style and I really enjoyed No Country for Old Men - both book and movie but I'm sure they could have done something like that with The Road... well, perhaps it just didn't meet my super-high expectations! :P Viggo did do a good job and I'm sure he added depth and credibility to the character.

I really enjoyed reading McCarthy's All the Pretty Horses and I have seen bits and pieces from No Country. People say it is a great film and I hope I can watch the whole thing sometime. ^^

And ooh yeah, there were some brutal spots where I had to look away for a bit. >.<

Yeah, I've read All the Pretty Horses too.. mainly because of the title... :teehee: I didn't like the book as much as No Country but he has an interesting writing style and great descriptions so I want to read more from him. Did you see the movie Alle the Pretty Horses?

Anyway, since this is a swoon thread for Viggo... Interesting thing is that I've actually only found him sexy and hot in LotR. For the rest of his movies and for him as an actor I've more been like.. Great personality.. I wish we could hang out.. but just in a friendly way... :P

Apparently the movie for ATPH is horrible. It looked horrible to be honest. I loved the novel though. Billy Bob Thornton directed it and people say it would have been good if the studio hadn't made him hack off most of the film for being too long.*ahem* Thank goodness that was not the case for LotR.

Back to Viggo...
I have not seen his more romantic roles so the PHWOAR factor is definitely in LotR for me. ;-) There are pictures of him when he was younger where he just seems to drip sex. iness. :teehee:

@Nicole: Perhaps, that's why I haven't seen ATPH. :P

And you must post some pics of sexy Viggo.. this thread needs Viggo-luuv! :)

@Zany: Hmm why have I never heard of those movies? Are they from the beginning of his loooong carrer?

Post subject:  Re: Viggo Mortensen

Oh, I have heard of both, I just haven't watched them! yet...*evil grin*

Perfect Murder's the one where he is Gwyneth Paltrow's love interest, right? And the other one is with Diane Lane and he is a salesman?

I used to check viggophile.net regularly but now that the owner has closed the site, I have no easy access to Viggo and the awesome gallery. Buh.

I think Viggo looks better with a slightly darker hair color, so nay on the first picture but yum on the second. ^^

Besides his looks (pfft 'coz they are of such small importance... ;-)), he has such talent, and it is so unfortunate his success came so late in his career.

Besides LOTR, I've watched The Road and Hidalgo. The Road was a good movie I thought, Viggo acted well. I am going to watch Good soon, it's on my Netflix list. :D As for his older movies, I haven't seen them.

If I can track my old photobucket don it's pretty much all pictures of Viggo... what? no! I'm not a stalker. But there is one where (in the movie) he's covered in tattoos, but he didn't actually have any tattoos. So somewhere out there, there's some lucky make up artist out there that got to draw all over Viggo with a magic marker. :notworthy:

^Hahaha, that would have been for Eastern Promises. Never thought of that.. but an excellent reason to persue a carrer in.. err.. make up/bodypaint! :P

I loveViggo and his movies! I can't wait for his new one and I feel like I've seen almost all of his older movies but I think my favorite nonlotr movie with him is Eastern Promises and I heard they are going to do a sequel!
