Well, the way you speak and the way you sing don't really effect each other much(from my experiences atleast). I mean I've met people who you'd never in a million years expect could sing because of their speaking voice but then they open their mouth and sing and it's beautiful. Kind of just one of those weird things I guess, like when people sing they lose their accents! That's always baffled me! :duh:

Tinuviel's Tears, Thanks. I was realy worried about that.
Yeah, could you imagine driving down an LA street and hearing Lij with his window rolled down singing to one of his cds?
Well, my mom said that she saw a comercial where it looked like (the narrator's voice was put over the actual sound) Lij was singing. So if we're lucky maybe we'll get to hear him sing. (crosses fingers) Personaly I don't think that I would mind it if he tryed to sing in a penguin voice. I think that would be cute and funny. :goofy: Then again my lil' sis and my dad would forever more say that Lij couldn't sing...maybe he should realy try to sing. :-D
Well, I just can't realy see Hugh Jackman just totally sucking at anything. I mean I've heard that he can sing and dance and I know that he can act and is way good looking so I just can't fathom that there's something that he's not good at. ;)
Itarilde, I know what you mean. I've also known people with lovely singing voices but aweful speaking voices and vise versa. I even have a nice speaking voice but I can't sing to save my life.
So true but yet so weird. I never have been able to understand why accents don't realy convey to people's singing voices. It's just werid.

When do you plan to try to go and watch Happy Feet? My family and I are going to try to go and watch it the day after Thanksgiving (if all goes well). Where I live most people go and shop, eat, and check out a movie on the day after Thanksgiving. So Happy Feet will probabley do well around here. Do you think that it will do well in your area?

LOL. The day after Thanksgiving is my birthday! It's kind of annoying having Thanksgiving so close. Last year my birthday was on Thanksgiving. :yuck: So I don't know if I'll be going that day. Also, around here, the day after Thanksgiving is the biggest day of the year for, get this, Christmas shopping? Everyone does their Christams shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Weird. So there'll probably be a lot of traffic and such that I wish to avoid.
I don't know when I'll go and see it. I might do it the day it comes out, depending on what day of the week it is, the availability of my friends, etc.
I know exactly what you guys mean about the singing voice thing. Sometimes people will talk, and then they'll start singing and I'll think  , are they lipsyncing?
Hugh Jackman is a good actor, and yes, he's pretty good looking as well. :P It's always interesting to hear actors sing I think, because we want to know what they sound like. Most actors have had some professional song and dance training, so I think a lot of them must have some kind of singing talent. I'm sure Lij's voice is above average though. I love the thought f driving down the street and hearing him singing along to a CD. :D It makes me smile.

I think it will be interesting in general to hear these actors we know so well acting and singing like penguins. All of are pretty well known actors, and sort of have followings for certain genres of movies and none of those genres include animation. so it should be fun to listen for the different actors and try to pick them out. I can't wait!!! :P

*oh my goodness*

*squeaky noises*

*explodes*

This is GREAT news TT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for sharing! You have just brightened my day SO much! The other day my sister told me that while they go see a movie I've been wanting to see for a while, i get to stay with the kids and watch Happy Feet.

So I thought "...aww man. I have to watch some dumb cartoon."

But it has Elijah Wood, ANd Robin Williams in it! Two of the best... it's bound to be awesome! I'm grinning nonstop now... thankyouthankyouthankyou! *sporadic hugs*

Tinuviel's Tears, Whoa, that must be aweful. I'm sorry.
My parents are going Christmas shopping earlier that day too, the traffic is going to be aweful, and the theatre is pretty far away... :(... I guess we'll just have to leave for the movie realy realy realy early. ;)
That's cool.
Itarilde, Yeah, I'm sure that that will be a ton of fun. I can't wait either. :)
Fencing Maiden, :laughbounce: Excited are we? ;) Welcome to our little Happy Feet obsession thread.

How many times have you seen commercials for it so far? I have a commercial for it on one of my rec tapes so I've watched the commercial around 74 times. Are you driving your family and or freinds crazy yet? I know I am. I keep replaying and repeating the commercials for it. My mom allready said that she can't wait to go and see it so she won't have to watch the commercial anymore.

Ah, they just showed the commercial...on tv! (Giggle) Sorry I got a little carried away there.

I haven't really counted. I must see it a whole bunch when watching TV. Of course, it depends on the programs or channel you're watching but, it's kind of hard to tell.

Thanks for your sympathies Drew's Destiny, but it's not so bad. I'm quite used to it by now.
Fencing Maiden, or perhaps I should say Lady Dwarf now ;), I'm glad it brought you so much joy. I know what you mean. At first I thought, "Man. Another dumb talking animal movie. I'm so sick of these." But then I found out Lij was in it and all of these other people and the plotline looks very cute and altogether inspirational-message-sending, so now I'm actually excited to see it.
I've seen the previews about a billion times now. I don't run into the room for them every time (like I did for POTC 2), but I always smile when I see them. The only thing that bugs me about the previews is that they don't have mcuh of Lij's voice in them. But I suppose there'll be plenty of that in the movies. After all, he is the title character.

Itarilde, Yeah, it can get pretty hard to tell and to keep track of.
Well, I see the commercials Alot because I have one of them on tape, 2 much younger siblings so the cartoon channels (which run it Alot) are on allmost all the time, and for some reason they want to keep showing the commercials durring my daytime dramas (soaps/stories/whatever you call them ).

Tinuviel's Tears, Oh, that's good. :)
Cool. Well, I'm getting maybe just maybe a little too obsessed. Even my 6 year old brother yells for me when a commercial for it comes on tv. Oh, and he came running in my room the other day when a burger king commercial said that they had Happy Feet toys in their kids meals  :-D
I wish that they would let Lij talk more in the commercials too.

I heard Hugh Jackman sing on the Ellen show earlier today. He sang "Addicted to Love". I thought that he sounded realy nice. I can't wait to hear more of him. :-D

That's awesome! I'm going to have to wait until the movie to hear Hugh sing.
So, this is probably the fourth video I've posted on A-U tonight, but I found one where they are interevieing Lij about Happy Feet. He talks a little bit about the singing. Oddly enough, the first minute or so of the interview is all about facial hair. :confused2: :P Hope you guys enjoy it!

^ (gasp) Yay! Yeah, you're on a roll tonight. (giggle) I bet that's funny. I have to get my dad to look at my computer's speakers before I go totally crazy. Oh, I hope my daddy can fix them so I can see all of the youtube stuff that you've found.

TT, that little part in the beginning when they were talking about their beards made me crack up so hard, I think my face was cherry red. It's too bad he doesn't really sing well in the movie but maybe some other time we'll get to hear him really sing.

^ Me too Itarilde, and I'm glad made you laugh. I've been watching Ljahvids addictively on YouTube since last night. You find some interesting things. Tis I pity we don't get to hear him sing in his real voice, but he seems to think that he can sing a little, and people are usually pretty modest about how good their voices are, so I'd be willing to bet that he has a pretty good voice. I'm so curious though, as to what he'd sound like. Maybe we'll be able to tell a little bit from his penguin singing. :P

Most likely his voice is very good. But you're right. People (polite people anyway) tend to down play singing talent if they have any. And a hint that he does have a very good singing voice is the fact that he had to 'try' to sing poorly. That's evidence he has good control of his singing.

Oho, great video! That 'facial hair' part also had me seriously laughing! :D Whhooo, I think Elijah looks pretty good with a beard! ^_^ In pictures, not so much, but on this video, yep. Really cool. But then, I'm bias to beards. :P

I can't wait to see this movie! Of course, the main to reasons are Wood and ... no, not Hugh, Robin Williams. I *LOVE* Robin Williams as an actor, he is so fantastically talented! I've been watching him since he was Mork from Ork! :D

Sadly, I'll prbably have to wait til this movie comes out on DVD to see it. Buggar. Argh. Blast.

My parents won't take me, my friends aren't interested, and I don't have my drivers license yet. *sigh*.

I SAW THE MOVIE!!!!!!!! It was cute and adorable and had some goood humor in it. Lij's penguin was the only one with bright blue eyes (there's some reason for that I'm sure :)) I definately recommend it for everyone!
