Mumble has ridiculously blue eyes like Elijah! I noticed that right away and nearly had a fit in the theatres. It can't be a coincidence! Even as a computer-animated penguin... |

Ooh, I really liked Happy Feet! The music was great, and the story line was inspiring, if not completely original. I totally noticed that Mumble looks like Elijah, the eyes especially. And his hair too! It reminds me of Elijah's buzz cut...lol! |

In animation projects, they often take the look of the actor and apply it to the design of the character. You're right, the music was really catchy and fun! Very upbeat and positive, good for everyone to listen to! |

^He was the voice for Noah the Elder. He had a Scottish accent in Happy Feet, and he really didn't sound like himself at all, so I can see where you'd be confused. I didn't know which one he was until I saw the credits. I definitely think Mumble looked like Lij. In fact, I think I found myself mildly attracted to that penguin because he reminded me of Lij so much.

Do join us in our weird attraction to the penguin who bears our dear Elijah's voice. It's lots of fun over here. People give you looks like this: a lot. It makes for a good time.
I'm particularly fond of him when he tries to sing in that horrible penguiny croak. Priceless. Lij singing like a vocally challenged penguin. You can't get much cuter than that. Everyone keeps saying that the penguin didn't look like Elijah and that I'm just saying that because of the eyes, but I think he really does look a lot like Lij. just one more reason he's mildly attractive for an animated penguin. |

You made a lot of good points TT. That penguin did look like Elijah in penguin form. And I remember an interview of him when he was talking about how he had to sing horribly for the part. The interviewer asked him if he could really sing and Lij said, "well, not as horribly as that!" (referrring to poor Mumble and his singing-challenged voice) that must've been really interesting in the studio that day when they asked him to sing as bad as he possibly could. I wonder what he was thinking ???
