Post subject:  The DaVinci Code (Ian McKellen)

I'm currently laying in bed and turned on the TV to ... TNT I think? (Yay, US cable channels) and the movie with Tom Hanks is in it, and it looks like the The Da Vinci series but not sure which movie it is, I'm guessing the first film (ergo, not Angels and Demons) based on the assumption that Angels and Demons is a little too new to be on cable TV. And because everyone is speaking in French and there doesn't seem to be an Ewan McGregor anywhere (sadface).

Did you guys know that Ian McKellen was in this? If he was in the trailers, I would've made more of an effort to see this film! When it comes to religious controversies, it doesn't bother me too much. But Ian McKellen's messing around with the.. lock? code breaker? And I just think it's awesome for him to play the knowledgeable wisdom type. 8D

I haven't seen this film, but Ian McKellen is by all accounts very good in it (isn't he good in everything).

I would watch it just for him. Won't tell you what happens though. :P

I know. How delicious.

*sigh* I'm just writing my autograph request to him actually. It's taken me over a month to compose it. Can you believe it, I didn't know what to say?! When I was *young* 6 years ago, I just rambled away merrily, but now I am *older* and *wiser* you need to be more *restrained* and *composed*.

Hence the difficulty in curbing my enthusiam. :P

You should never curb your enthusiasm when it comes to hailing an almighty thespian such as Sir Ian McKellen!

Go, be enthused!

Lol, Kit, it took you two days to finish the movie and figure out that good old Ian is the baddie. :-)
I liked the DaVinci Code - for what it was - good entertainment. I had read the book but I was still shocked about Ian McKellen's hidden agenda - and with a gun!! Seriously, the guy would have killed for the kryptex!

Oh, and I actually watched the movie twice.. ehh for scientific purposes and I jumped in my seat both times when the monk steps into the living room - I'm so easy! :P

Gimli:: Yeah, go for it... I think he'll be delighted no matter what you write - fanmail is always nice! I know I'd be happy to get it! :teehee:

I am actually really sad. I have only seen bits and pieces of this movie but have never got a chance to see it all the way through. *tear* Of course Ian McKellen is awesome from what I saw of his performance. I know he is the bad guy but I am ok with this. Baddies are sometimes some of the most awesome characters. :P

I have to start keeping a closer eye on TNT from now on.
