This movie made me open my eyes to Orlando Bloom...it has been said before, especially on the swoon board, but he is amazing in the movie!
I like the way he uses his voice, soft, but with every emotion close-up and strong...
He has evolved quite a lot since LotR..and I prefere his own hair/eye color, instead of the blond & contact blue eyes of Legolas...
the extra weight and muscle in KoH...look really good, too!
Okay,.....I´m finished....for now  :P

is there a lot of like gross, up close, chopping of heads, and torturing, with blood everywhere, and such to a point where it's just...to much? i mean, worse than LotR?

I'd like to see it, but still haven't (no one else in my family is very eager to go). How does the violence compare to films like Gladiator and Braveheart? Gladiator's violence was ok for my taste, but Braveheart's was a liiiiittle too smashing-heads-open.

Oh yes, Braveheart violence :-o . Maybe I could see it on DVD if it's not too graphic...

Personally, I didn´t find it extremely grafic
...no more than either Braveheart or Gladiator :)
....they were most likely a little more grafic...
KoH is more a `soldiers´ love story, than a war movie....
..a love story between a man &....
...his loyalties
...his conscience
...his religious beliefs
...his country & King
...his women
:bye2:

I hate to put a damper on the thread, but eh. *Takes out an umbrella* I like to think of myself as a film critic (or at least, how COOL it would be to be one). Anyway, I found this movie to really fall below expectation. I thought that Orlando Bloom did not fit the whole epic-hero part, and that the only acting that held everything together were the supporting cast (especially Edward Norton as the leper king). The screenplay and dialogue were horrible in some parts, and the plot did not seem to carry itself. I do applaud the cinematography, directing/camerawork and soundtrack, however.

This is simply my opinion, remember.

If you are worried about the voilence then thats your curse! (ha ha Troy quote) Sure it has prolific (oh yeah I used that word) amounts of blood and gory action scenes it was all to add to the effect. It wouldn't be the same if you left it out. It's about the crusades man. Don't be a wimp about the blood just suck it up and be happy you don't live back then.
I love when the king stabbs the messenger in the throat and the blood flies from the neck!!!! (No I am not a guy).
